"Oh What Fun" and a Plaid Challenge

Hi Everyone, Lynn here with my first layout using this month's beautiful "Oh What Fun" Classic Kit. December's Kit is so festive and seriously PACKED with product just in time to document your Holiday Events.
The team's challenge this week is called "Plaid Tidings". We used Plaid somewhere on our projects. That was easy with this kit - so many plaid options available! I created a tree out of strips of paper for my layout. One of the layers is plaid. Here's my page.
I started by whitewashing a space behind the tree - using gesso and a practically dry brush. I then added layers of paper strips, including a fun piece of vellum from the kit, popping up some of the strips.
I added several types of embellishments including sequins for some bling.
I also added some tiny splotches of  Mister Huey's Color Mist in Peppermint to the background and added a piece of ribbon for the tree stump.
Here's one last look at the dimension by popping up some of the paper strips and the acrylic stars.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and hope you have a chance to grab one of these Holiday kits!!

Holiday Home Decor Week with Mistletoe & Holly

Hello Tuesday! Lynn Kopas here to share another home décor piece using December's Mistletoe & Holly Kits. I decided to create a small Holiday canvas that would be a nice little decoration just about anywhere! This would make a great gift and it was so easy to make. I covered a 4 x 4 canvas with paper from the kit. I then looped several circles of the Tim Holtz Pine Twine included in this month's daily diary kit to make a wreath. After applying the wreath to the canvas with a hot glue gun, I added SnowTex - a cool mixed media product that looks just like snow. I adorned the wreath with October Afternoon Pop Drops, some ribbon, the title JOY and was done! Here's the final result.
I have this sitting on a small wooden easel. Wouldn't this be cute on someone's desk or shelf? Here's a close-up of the wreath.
The Tim Holtz sentiment stickers are from last month's kit.
Hope you liked this idea - it was really easy to make. Have a great day and stay tuned for more Home Décor projects for the Design Team!

Welcome December with Mistletoe and Holly

Hello December!! Can you believe it's December 1st already?! Lots to do and so little time!!
This month, Noel put together some GORGEOUS kits to help us document the holiday season! Mistletoe & Holly Classic and Daily Diary Kits are so lovely and FULL of holiday cheer! I design primarily with the Daily Diary Kit and this month's kit is sooooo cute! I love showing you the different ways to use a Daily Diary kit besides the conventional PL pages. I think mini albums using the PL cards are so adorable and great for documenting an event. This month I used some PL cards from this month's kit to create a few Christmas cards. I create three simple cards ready to send to some special friends!
These were so easy to create. I used some stitched dies to frame the cards and layered different sized cards with some cardstock.
I used fun foam on the back of the center card to give the card some dimension. I added some glitter to the center of the snowflakes to add some sparkle to my card.
This card is clean and simple with a pop of gold - here's another angle of the card to show the lovely gold foil on the card.
Here's my third card using a 4x4 PL card that I cut down a bit. I added a sheer sentiment from the Pink Paislee Yuletide Word Stickers included in the kit!
These cards came together so quick and it's another way to use the PL cards in the Daily Diary Kits! There are still Daily Dairy Kits available for this month so be sure to grab them before they're gone!! See you next week for another project with this AWESOME kit! Happy crafting!
