Ideas for Attaching Transparencies to Your Layout

I have had this photo in my file for a long time (Click to see larger). I have no idea who created it since a friend-of-a-friend-of-a-friend passed it on to me. :D But I think it is a great sample board of ideas and I wanted to share it with you here!

Use one of the ideas on your Hambly transparency included in your kit! Or combine a few of them like I did in the sample below.

Here I have combined three of the ideas together. I hid the adhesive under my photo, used the brad from the black flower to keep the right side in place, and then I also added some stitching to two of the corners.

Mission Accomplished

This layout was done for the challenge that noel will be rolling out tomorrow here. This pic was taken at my graduation party my parents threw me and my best friend. i don't have many pics left because my mom lost them all in Hurricane Katrina so I definitly wanted to cherish and hold on to the few that I have.
Be sure and check back.
With this layout I used the Homeroom Kit (sold out). So if you bought this kit I hope that we are inspiring you to break it out and use it.

I love that this kit doesn't have to be about school either. I used it to make this layout about our rental house. This house is where we use to live. This was Oneil's (my hubby's) grandparents house and when his grandfather passed away we got it. The journaling is hidden. There is lots of great memories with this house and there was something about this kit that i knew this was the perfect papers to scrap about it. i have been waiting for the perfect opportunity and this kit gave it to me. Thanks Noel :)

Make sure you check out the tips and techinique blog here every Monday for a new tip or technique or both.

See you next week!!

Lovin' Color!

It was great to see everyone's take on the Pottery Barn Inspiration Challenge ! Here is the layout I created for it. Thanks to fellow DT member, Michelle Lanning , who hosted this challenge, I am now officially in LOVE with this color scheme and can't wait to try it again! ;)
Casting for a Spell

On another scrappy-color-related note, I am ADORING playing with the colors in the Homeroom Kit and Extra Credit kit!! I love how fresh and funky the blues, greens and yellow feel together, yet the black and white keeps it grounded and classic.
Here are a few layouts I created this week using a combination of the kits together. For this first one, everything came from the Homeroom kit with the exception of the Cosmo Cricket green patterned paper and the blue paint from the Extra Credit Kit .

1st Day

This picture isn't officially a school photo of me, but it looks like it! LOL! This was a photo of just me from an Engagement photo session with my hubby. When I saw this photo, the first thing I thought about was that I wouldn't change a thing about the last 12 years if I had known about them beforehand. I have a Book of Me Album that is 6 X 12 and created this page to add to it.

If I Knew Then What I Know Now

Everything here is from the Homeroom kit except for the Love, Elsie rubon letters from the Extra Credit kit .

Thanks for coming by!

Mini kit work

Well I fell in love with the school Extra credit kit and ripped right into it when it came to my home. Here is the first thing I made:

I made this for my daughter's new teacher. Just a simple little card and a stamp. Everything but the owl and the stamp and tulle are from the mini kit.

Then I decided to make my daughter's Pre-K page for her scrapbook - she has one for each room she is in. So there are no pictures because the bottom part is actually a pocket where I will put all of the "important" must keep memorbilia.
And I also had Alyson write her name on some ledger paper I had - I traced over it with marker as well. I left a blank one for June so we can see the improvement that she has made.
I hope these little things inspire you to create some school goodness!

First School Portraits

I have been playing with the Homeroom Kit (sold out!) and it has been SO much fun. Noel sure does know how to pack in the cool stuff in her kits, doesn't she?!

This is a layout I did using my school portraits from when I was student teaching back in 2002. The funny thing is, since I was homeschooled, I never had the professional school portraits when I was a kid, so these were my first "real" school portraits!

(And even though I'm not a huge fan of how I look in them, I figure my kids will appreciate it sometime down the road, right?)

Supplies: Homeroom kit, American Crafts glitter thickers, Doodlebug stickers from my stash.)

Today.....

When I received my new Homeroom Kit, I HAD to dive right into it! Why you ask? Because I am a teacher! This kit has so many cute school themed papers and embellishments! I LOVE the vintage page that was included. For this LO, everything was from this super kit! This kit is currently sold out, but the Extra Credit kit is totally cute too!!! Better hurry though because there are only 5 left! BTW, this little man is my son. He had no idea I was taking his picture, so for once, I didn't get a cheesy grin!
This is a page I created with Noel's Devoted kit. (I did throw a piece from the Picnic Basket kit too....the red floral!) I have always been partial to black and white and thought it would work perfectly for this LO of my niece. She just turned one this summer and was joyfully tasting a lollipop for the first time. (There are still 8 left of this gorgeous kit! )

Taking a trip down Memory Lane

Hello everyone,
I am so honored to be a part of the Noel Mignon Design Team this month!

I was so thrilled when I opened my kit to find an abundance of papers and goodies in my most favorite color combination....aqua and red. So, as you could imagine, I couldn't wait to get started!

I have had these photos of my precious Grandma Ann for sometime, waiting for the perfect inspiration to scrap them. Memory Lane was the perfect kit to get my ideas flowing on how to best display these photos and my grandpa's love of cars :)

The flowers were created by using the Scenic Route acrylic stamps in the kit to stamp flower images on patterned papers. After crumpling the flowers to give a distressed feel, I layered the red flowers using pop dots for the top layer to add dimension. As a finishing touch...buttons and rhinestones were added to the centers of each flower.

The next layout was my first creation out of the kit. I just adore poppies and had to cut them out to layer on this page. As you can see I used a lot of the papers in the kit as layers and adorned the poppies with rhinestones. Well, that's all for this week! I have more to share next Monday. Have a wonderful holiday and I hope you find some time to create today!
