PL Wk9 & a Process Video using Heart of Gold

Happy Monday!
Danielle here to share with you
a new process video of my
Project Life Week 9, using

I created 4 weeks, including several extra insert pages with this fabulous kit.

Here is the week in full

Here is the left side. I also didn't notice the typo on my journal card until I was editing the video, lol. We will just blame in on the fact I created this spread at 5:30am and was waiting for the coffee to brew.

And here is the right side of the spread. Don't you just love the clear acetate cards?!!
I used some of the polka dot ribbon from a past kit, and stitched it to this card. I love the element of fabric & ribbons added to each week, because it adds a fun texture to the page.

I also used my sewing machine, and stitched on most of the cards for more texture.

I used from my stash the following
- OA Catch Phrase Roller Stamp
- OA Daily Flash Snap Peas Green Alphas
- Tiny Grey Alphas

Thanks for taking the time to read this post and watch the video!

lots of love for the Heart of Gold kit

Hey there!

It's Becky and I am back to share another project with you today.

Our challenge for the week was to create some kind of interactive element on my page.

I love to use punches and decided to use  lots of them on my layout and then use them to add a little bit of hidden journaling on my layout.

I interviewed my oldest daughter, included those bits in the journaling at the bottom of the page and then added some of her personality characteristics under many of the hearts, revealed by lifting up the side of the heart.

The floral washi is from my scrappy stash, all else is from the Heart of Gold Classic Kit.

I love all of the tiny elements (enamel dots, little heart stickers) in the kit and used lots of those to balance out the larger elements on my page.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Heart's All A Flutter // Wanna Snuggle?

I'm continuing on the "Heart's All A Flutter" theme this week using the Heart of Gold Classic Kit. I went back a few years with the photos for my layout this week. Since they weren't the highest quality (even with photo editing they were a bit grainy) I opted for smaller photos (about 3 1/4" in size). Good or bad photos, they still had a story to tell!
Our dogs quickly discovered that they could jump up on my daughter's bed once it was converted to a toddler bed. Stinkers ;)

I used multiple papers on my layout including the flowers were also cut from patterned paper.
I'm having so much fun playing with all of the embellishments in this kit. Just can't get over just how many of them are in the kit!! And I just love those white & gold alphas!
For my interactive element on this page I took a tag from the Sweet Charlotte Classic kit and tucked it behind my paper and used that for my journaling. I like to do that when the journaling doesn't quite fit on the page the way I want it to. The colors of the Sweet Charlotte and Heart of Gold kits complement each other perfectly!

So that's it for this week!! And in case you haven't heard, the Picture Perfect Classic Kit and Daily Diary kit are on sale now and they are fabulous (as always)!

Inspired by Hearts All A Flutter- "Heart of Gold" Classic Kit

I'm using the "Heart of Gold" Classic Kit again today.  Following along with the design team's inspiration of "Hearts All a Flutter", which simply challenges us to incorporate a movable element to our layout, I decided to incorporate hidden memorabilia in my layout...

This layout is about the day my daughter gave her speech when she was running for school treasurer.  Although she was not voted treasurer, I was so proud of her for preparing and giving the speech, and how graceful she reacted when she found out she didn't win.

I included my daughter's original speech notes because I think it will be fun for her to look back at her speech in her own handwriting one day.  I embellished the bag containing the speech with stickers, chipboard, trim, and one of the flowers from this month's kit. I made my own "faux flair" using scraps of paper punched with a 1" circle punch, stamped images, and a clear epoxy sticker over the top.

I really like the look of a variety of fonts and letter stickers/Thickers in a title.  I used the Thickers that came in the kit along with some chipboard stickers and alphabet stickers that I already had in my stash.  I embellished the title, and the other embellishment clusters on the layout, with stars from the Pink Paislee gold puffy stickers in this month's kit, along with a few flowers from my stash.

The journaling on this layout was very important to me, because it told the story of how nervous my daughter was to give her speech,it told that she didn't win----and it told how she reacted to not winning.  I cut apart the labels from a piece of Pink Paislee patterned paper in this month's kit, and lined them up down the side of the page to journal on.  I felt that this really made the journaling stand out on my layout.

Thank you for looking at my interactive layout today!!!  I would love to see what you have made with your kit.  Share it on our Facebook page!!!

Heart of Gold Classic Kit: Church Selfies

Hello, friends! Jana Eubank here. It seems like the gray days of Winter are behind us which has me gravitating towards the light and bright colors of the Heart of Gold Classic Kit. For this page, I pulled out the greens, pink, blue, and gray from the kit. I'm loving these colors together!

I had these silly pictures of my daughter taking selfies at church one day keeping herself entertained. I started off by grouping the photos together on a block of blue solid patterned paper from the kit. Next, I filled the empty corner of the block with handcut label shapes (from the Pink Paislee Memorandum paper). I thought the labels would be a fun way to feature the title and journaling!

The butterfly and flower cluster at the bottom of the labels add life to the page, and enhance the pink tones in the photos, that are otherwise a bit too much on the cool side. I added the Queen and Co. gems to the body of the butterfly for a bit of sparkle.

The design team challenge this week, "Hearts All a Flutter," was to add an interactive element to our page. I decided to dig into my stash and add these charms (older items from My Mind's Eye) in a couple of spots around the page. They dangle from the label and word strip and add a nice sense of movement to the page.

This girl definitely has the key to my heart!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you are enjoying your week!

Hearts All a Flutter with Heart of Gold

Hello and Happy Tuesday! Lynn here with another layout I created using February's lovely Heart of Gold Classic Kit.  I decided to make a 8.5 x 11 layout this week to continue with our design team challenge "Hearts All a Flutter". The challenge this week is simply to incorporate an interactive or moving element on your project. This can be a dangling charm, or hidden journaling for example. I chose to hide some journaling on the back of a tag that can be removed and put back easily from my page. Here's my layout ...
I used mostly Pink Paislee Memorandum papers for my page - such a fun collection!
The tag behind the photo of my two love bugs has some journaling typed on it. I can remove the tag easily making it an interactive element.
Come join us in this week's challenge - we would love to see what you create!

Documenting WK 8 with a Process Video

Happy Monday! Danielle here today to share with you a new process video using the

and here are some still shots

I loved working with this months kit! There were so many fun elements like the 4x4 glittered wood veneer, and the gold glitter enamel dots!
This weeks theme for the Design Team is "Hearts All a Flutter" - make an interactive or moving element (ex: dangling charm, hidden journaling, etc.) on your page.

I chose to do an interactive element on my page. The bottom right hand corner of my page, I added a tag from Liam's new spring jacket.

I added a photo of the jacket, and stitched it to the tag that was on it. I slipped it into the page protector, so that the top part of the tag is on the outside, making it easy to open and read.

And here are a few close ups!

I hope you enjoyed a look at my process and the end result of my Project Life Wk 8. I hope I have inspired you to create something fabulous today.

finishing up flower week

Hello again!

We hope that you have been enjoying our flower projects this week.

Today it is my turn to share a project.

This layout features the Heart of Gold Classic kit. I will admit here that I am typically not a very flowery person and I struggle to use flowers on pages without them looking too gaudy. I did, however, these little monochromatic jeweled flowers in the February kit, and because of their small size they didn't feel too overwhelming on my layout.

I used a variety of papers on this page, some florals to go with the week's challenge and others to ground the page and give more variety. I tucked a chipboard frame under the corner of one of the pictures, tucked a bow under the edge of the flowers and added a few gold enamel stars around the page. The gold strip across the page is the pretty satin ribbon from this month's kit.

I also used quite a few strips of washi tape from the Pink Paislee Memorandum washi booklet.

Do you enjoy using flowers on your projects?

We would love to see what you do with them!

Feel free to take a look back through this week's post by our design team for some ideas on how to use the flowers in your scrappy stash and share your projects with us in our Noel Mignon Facebook community.

Have a great weekend!

♥♥

dream today banner

Hey all!!! Are you all as glad it's Friday as I am?? I so neeeed to sleep in tomorrow morning (let's just hope my family lets me!)

The challenge this week is to use flowers in our projects so I decided to go 'off the page' so to speak and create a little banner with those lovely flowers in the past couple kits. I used the Heart of Gold and Sweet Charlotte classic kits for this project along with some corrugated cardboard from my stash that I found at Joanns on clearance a while back. When I bought it I wasn't sure what I'd use it for (although I did have a banner in mind) but at $2 for pack of 16-6x6 pieces of patterned corrugated cardboard I just couldn't pass that up! Truth be told I grabbed a couple packs ;)
I also grabbed some kraft doilies from my stash since I didn't have any left from the kits - those are some of the first items I use up because I love them so much!

I attached that pom pom fringe with my tiny attacher and added accents here and there. Originally I did 5 pennants thinking I was going to cut out the word 'bloom' from the patterned papers. Then I pulled out that 'dream today' wood veneer and once I set that on the center pennant I knew I needed to switch directions a bit. I thought about adding some glitter or paint but quite honestly I loved the look of the wood veneer on the cardboard.

No rhyme or reason, just a fun little project that I can hang on the chalkboard in my family room as we dream of spring!

Inspired by Flowers-"Heart of Gold" Classic Kit

This week in honor of "Budding Romance", the design team is using flowers as inspiration on our layouts.  I'm using the "Heart of Gold" Classic Kit for my double page layout today.

Noel puts her kits together to mesh with the current season, trends, and holidays, but they are also versatile.  So although this month's kit was a more "love" theme---it worked for my Halloween layout---complete with flowers!

I did pull quite a few flowers from my own stash here, but I also used one of the Prima yellow ones that came in this month's kit. I used some of the My Mind's Eye enamel dots as centers for some of the flowers.

I needed to have a few "pops" of black on the layout to bring out the darker colors of the Mad Hatter's costume, so I thought that the "Halloween" title would work well on the left side of the layout, while the "you + me" black sticker worked on the right side of the layout.
I really stretched the use of the gold doily in the kit.  I cut it into pieces and used a couple of pieces on some previous layouts, part of it near the "Halloween" title on this layout, and the final piece I used by cutting away some of the exterior of the doily leaving some of the interior in a half circle to anchor the "You + Me" embellishment cluster.

I used the gold ribbon to finish off and ground the bottom portion of the layout, and I really like the way it turned out with the little faux knot pictured below.
Finally, I used the ampersand sticker from the Crate Paper sticker sheet that came in this month's kit on the sub title of the layout.  I really like mixing fonts and lettering on my layouts and titles.

Thank you for joining me today...check back all week to see how the rest of the design team has been inspired by flowers.  Have a great week!!!
