Our Life Never Looked So Good- Pocket Pages!

The lovely combination of color and detail in the Let's Get Lost Daily Diary kit makes for such interesting contrast in my Pocket Page album. I'm finding my groove with this style and I really love that I have an album documenting our daily life.

I've been using the "Collect" app to organize my daily pictures and keep captions under each one so I can remember special things about each day. This has been so handy when I've gone to print the pictures because I can trim those captions to use in my album.

Hitting the Slopes: April "Let's Get Lost" Classic Kit

Hey guys!  Sarah here with a very old picture of myself with my family when we were living overseas.  My father was in the military and we lived in Europe for a few years.  While there, we took advantage of where we were and did some traveling.  One thing we did almost every year was go on a group trip to Austria to do some skiing.

All of the mountain papers really spoke to me to create this layout for my album about my childhood.  And it was perfect, since we are literally on a mountain in the picture!

The title fit perfectly right above the photo and I used a mix of the Thickers and the We R Memory Keepers tiny alphabets.  To top off the title, I used a puffy camera sticker from Pink Paislee and a Shimelle wood button with more mountains.

I wanted something bold on the bottom so those gold glitter Thickers were great for that.  I also added a few more little details including the black and gold washi tape.  To add some more dimension, I fussy cut around the mountain paper to give them some height and an added detail under the photo.

For the journaling, I used a die cut and covered up the sentiment with a strip of the washi so it made more sense for my layout.

I hope you enjoyed this layout and it helps inspire you to pull out some older photos and get them documented.  Thanks for stopping by today!

Wishes for my girls

Hello again!

It's hard to believe that another week has gone by. The time is just flying!

A friend of mine lost her mother just over a week ago and I don't mean to be mushy but times like this, like when my father in law passed away last year, cause me to be a little sentimental.

We really don't know how much time we have with those we love so it's important to show them our love and make the best of each and every day.

I have four daughters and while some days they make my hair turn white (seriously- not gray but white) I do love them and am so proud of them for the wonderful girls they are.

So, here is my project for the week using this month's Daily Diary kit, Let's Get Lost.

The 2x3" cards are perfect for pocket pages or extra journaling. For this page, though, I used the reverse sides in a grid pattern to add a mix of coordinating designs to my layout. I used a larger 4"x6" card to anchor my title before adding my photo. I used some strips of the washi tape from the kit to add the black and white contrast to the page.

I trimmed down a 2"x3" card to make a smaller journaling spot. I added lots of chipboard, leather and enamel accents to the layout, including attaching a piece of ribbon to the back of the cute leather circle.

Here you can see the different layers on my page and some of the embellishments I used. For the top right of the page I cut down the "go see do" card to a smaller size and added a tiny flair and some enamel dots. Noel always adds a beautiful mix of textures to each of her kits and I love the variety that adds to my projects, whether I'm using the Classic kit or the Daily Diary one.

Thanks for stopping by here today.

We hope that you have a great rest of your week and don't forget to stop by for the reveal of next month's kit! Visit us at our Facebook page for more details!

Goofy's Kitchen

Hey guys, Michelle here! This week I'm playing with "The Happiest" kit, the limited edition kit from last month (only ONE kit left!!). I love every bit of this kit & can't wait to create more layouts with it!

For now I've started on a Disney album from a trip we took to Disneyland in 2015. I decided to go with a 9x12 album for this trip since I knew I needed a bit more space than the 6x8 size that I typically like to use. And I'm planning on mixing in pocket pages with traditional layouts. I love using pocket pages for trip albums because I'm able to add lots of photos & don't feel like I need to leave some out because of limited space.
The first night we were there we went to Goofy's Kitchen for dinner. SO much fun and great food :) So first I created a traditional page. This is the first time I've played with the 9x12 size and I really liked it.

Then I used a pocket page for the rest of the photos from the dinner. I ended up grabbing a 4x6 card from the last Disney kit Noel Mignon had.
When you take photos at places like Disneyland where there are lots of people, it's nearly impossible to not have strangers in your background. But sometimes they're in a spot that is less than desirable like the photo below:
See that kid just to the right of Minnie? Well, rather than messing with Photoshop to try and crop him out I simply used some of my embellishments to cover him up. I do this a *lot* with my Disney photos!
Word phrase stickers to the rescue!!

And here are my 2 pages together as they'll look in my album:

Every book is an Adventure with the Let's Get Lost Daily Diary and Classic Kits

Hello!  Nicole here today to share a layout that takes the adventure theme to the kits in a different direction.  I recently found these photos of my grandma reading to my little guy.  I knew the colors would play off the colors in the kits perfectly.   For those that have both kits the colors and embellishments really work so well together.

I started with the black cardstock and pattern papers from the classic kit.  I cut strips of pattern paper and layered them behind my photos.  I then grabbed a few of the journaling cards from the daily diary kit and layered them under the top of my photos.  Using my Silhouette I cut part of my title from the red cardstock in the kit and paired it with one of the glittered thickers to form the title.

Once the foundation was built I got to work placing the simple embellishments:  flowers, stickers, washi tape, and ribbon.

I added a "frame" of sorts with a simple white gel pen and a pattern paper.  I kept the overall look to the layout simple and let the pictures and simple embellishments shine.

Thanks for stopping by the blog!

{Maddy} Layout with the "Let's Get Lost" Classic Kit

Hi everyone!  It's Meridy here today.  I have a layout to share with you using the "Let's Get Lost" Classic Kit.  I am having a great time scrapbooking outdoorsy pictures with this month's kit, and today's layout is no exception.  I pulled a couple of pictures of my daughter from a camping trip we took in 2011 (does that tell you how often I go camping?).  I'm more of a hotel and pool kind of mom!  But, we did go camping in 2011 and I had the most fun taking pictures (of course!).

My favorite part about this kit, and all of my Noel Mignon kits, is the wide variety of embellishments and patterned paper!  So I picked a few papers that really matched the photos, and built my layout up from that.  The title, "Maddy" is made with stickers from a previous Noel Mignon kit, and the bits and pieces that surround my title came from this month's beautiful kit!

I created another embellihsment cluster on the bottom left of my layout to balance out my title area.  Again, I used alphabet stickers from a previous kit, but the rest of the bits and pieces came from the "Let's Get Lost" Classic Kit.  I fussy cut the camera from a piece of Echo Park patterned paper in this month's kit.

Since the background paper already had lines, I journaled right on the background paper!  I think that about wraps up this layout.  I would love to see what you create with your "Let's Get Lost" kits on Instagram #NoelMignon  Have a great week!!!

Some Pocket Pages with Let's Get Lost!

I've been playing with the "Let's Get Lost" Daily Diary kit... oh it is the BEST for Spring Break pictures and adventures! There are two left- you should go treat yourself to one of them!

Y'all, don't forget to document yourself. It's important! Also, I absolutely love this random pic from my kids all loaded up in the van. These are the moments that make up life, am I right?

I had so much fun playing with this gold metallic chevron overlay! Cutting it up to embellish the page was so cathartic to me. I wish y'all could see the full extent of the glimmer. It's gorgeous!

Awesome Traveler - Let's Get Lost Kit (April Classic)

Hi!  Sarah here with my take on an adventurous layout.  Now...this one isn't about a particular event or trip.  This one is about how my younger sister didn't have the most adventurous spirit growing up.  She tended to get moody and whiny when we went on trips.  I have a series of pictures from different places and she just has the best "stink face" in all three photos.  I just had to document this!

I really loved the map paper from Echo Park that was in the kit so I used it to signify the traveling aspect of the photos.

The title is a mix of the Thickers from the kit and a word sticker from the We R Memory Keepers sticker sheet.  I used the brackets also from the WRMK sheet to emphasize that this is a sarcastic title.  I fussy-cut some of the cameras out of the Echo Park paper to use as embellishments in three different areas.  Adding the yellow puffy sticker from Pink Paislee was the perfect way to finish off that camera!

I also used the "YAY" from the glitter Thickers pack and left out the exclamation point to further add to the sarcasm.  My journaling is right next to it talking about the topic of the layout.

I finished off the photos with some of the WRMK word tiles and used some of the Heidi Swapp Colorshine in Ocean as a finishing touch.  Since the map paper had so much design already, I didn't need to do too much to the layout.  Nice and simple and I love it!

Adventures come in different forms and mean different things to different people.  Do you have a funny story to tell that can be considered an adventure?  Maybe something sarcastic?  I can't wait to see what you make with your kits this month!

Life is an adventure

Hello!

I hope you've been enjoying the team's projects with this month's kit, Let's Get Lost. I am working with the Daily Diary kit this month, which is still available (only two more!) here.

We are talking about adventures this week and while I didn't document a trip taken I am the mom of four girls and that is an adventure every single day!

Here is a layout featuring some pictures of one of my girls on a trip this past fall.

As you can see, I started with a white cardstock base. I like the clean slate it provides me, though I quickly messy that up with spray mist because I am not good at leaving my mist alone ☺

I used one of those cute accordion circles, though I cut the "100% real" from one of the kit embellishments and added it onto the center of the flower. I also used a tiny star punch to make some other little embellishments to add to the page.

I love the enamel dots in the kit and added some to the side of this journaling card to add some more color to my layout.

I had to use some of the fun map printed ribbon in the kit. It made a perfect spot to rest the pictures of my silly girl. I also added some other diecuts and the paper flower to add a bit of a feminine touch to the page.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Let's Go!

We're going on an adventure this week with our Let's Get Lost kits! Now remember, adventures aren't just vacations and special planned excursions, adventures can happen in your own backyard or, as in the case of my layout today, in your own neighborhood!
I kept my layout pretty simple, letting the photos be the focal point. I splashed a little bit of the Heidi Swapp color shine on my white cardstock. I love this color because as it dries it's a very subtle blue and somewhat opaque. That washi is so hard to photograph with the gold foil but I love the look it adds to my page!
Some stitching finished off my page and now I'm itching for that warm weather so we can enjoy the outside again!! We had snow here in eastern Washington this week...I'm ready for shorts and flip flops!

Camping in the Uintas - Let's Get Lost DD

This weeks theme of adventure is perfect for my continuation of last weeks camping trip pictures.  Every year we go camping with friends and I always take WAY too many photos.  I got a lot of them recorded this week in pocket pages and with a smattering of journal cards, stickers, and washi tape from the daily diary kit I'm about half finished.  ;)

I always start a spread by printing my photos first and placing them in the pockets.  I then fill in with journaling, a title, and a few embellishments in the other pockets.

I cut a few of the cards apart and placed this over my photo with some of the puffy stickers and washi.  The faux leather badges are so fun!  I added one on a printed 3x4 card over the top of a camera.  I placed it so the bird that was perched on the camera looked like it was standing on the badge.

The next page I used a 4x6 card, a transparency overlay, and letter stickers to make a my title.  I ended up cutting the transparency to fit the card and stapled it to the card.

A little side story:  while camping last summer we had a little pine tree in the middle of our camp that looked like a Christmas tree and we ended decorating it as such.  Crazy . . . but so us!  This explains the little card on the next page that I made and placed some of the enamel dots on for ornaments.

The card that looks blank in the full photo is actually a transparency that I cut to fit the pocket.

That is all I got for this week.  I  hope you all are enjoying the kits as much as I am!

Happy Scrapping!
