buds!

It's time for playing with new kits again! I have to be honest, I'm still playing with the Pool Party kit! But I couldn't resist cracking into the new Country Life kit (only 5 left!!)
Normally when I create a layout like this it's when I'm at the end of my kit contents. The strips are perfect for using up leftover scraps from your kits. But I had an idea so I just went with it :)
You'll notice that I went easy on the embellishments...I tend to do that with boy layouts (trying not to make it too girly!) But you'll also notice that I was still able to create a boyish layout very easily with this kit!

Daily Diary Pool Party meets the FUSE.

For my 3rd project using the Daily Diary Pool Party kit I wanted to create a very unique one of a kind page.  I wanted to incorporate a lot of the amazing cards and patterned paper that was included in the kit.  However, certain sizes and orientations of both photos and paper did not work for my pre-made photo pockets that I currently had on hand.  So, I decided to whip out a 12x12 page protector and my amazing FUSE tool and get to work!  I just could not let any of my favourites from the Daily Diary Pool Party kit be left out for this layout.  I love that I was able to include them all.

And voila!  A layout full of tiny pockets, larger pockets, embellishments, photos and all that delicious randomness!

The trick when using this method to create a pocket page with so many custom sized cards, papers and embellishments is to build your page from the bottom up.  I usually begin my page in the bottom left corner and work my way up.  After each addition of either a card, paper or photo, is when I use the Fuse to secure the edges closed.

I loved adding some of the puffy stickers and embellishments from the kit directly onto my page protector, on the outside as shown below.  As much as I love having everything inside of a pocket, I still love having tiny bits on the outside of them to touch and add a little bit of pop.

In this layout I also had a lot of fun adding stickers on top of cards.  I added the "right here, right now" stickers onto the lens of the camera card.  I also added the puffy sticker "summer" and enamel dots onto the wood grain card.  I love how that card reminds me of an old dock you would stand on in the summer over looking a lake.  It was just the perfect combination for this page.

I also love adding word strip stickers onto my photos.  The "hello summer" word strip is one of my favourites and it just serves to add the cutest caption.

I hope you enjoyed this little "twist" on using the Daily Diary Pool Party Kit and have been inspired to include more of those favourites that we all have that sometimes just do not fit into pre-made pocket pages.  Where there is a will, there is a way and using the Fuse will seriously help any obstacle.  It is a great accompaniment to using this wonderful kit and I love that I did not have to leave any of my favourites out from this months Daily Diary kit...I had a lot! :)

A couple of Pool Party cards

Every month, I try to make a couple of cards with the kit just to have on hand. You can never have too many cute cards in my opinion!

I LOVED this "Hello" paper and thought it would make a darling background for  a card. And y'all know I love my little clusters of embellishments. This just looks so happy to me.

I've missed my paints this summer, so I quickly pulled out some watercolors to add a "splash" of me on this card. Plus- flamingos. Am I right?!

Have a great Wednesday- we're halfway to the weekend!

How I killed my Noel Mignon Pool Party Kit!

Happy Monday! Today I am going to share with you how I killed my July Pool Party Kit from Noel Mignon! I wanted you to see the value of her kits!  Some people might think that $64.99 is a lot for 1 kit, but in my opinion I think its a great deal!  I spent more than that every month at other Kit Companies, because of having to buy add ons to beef up the kit.

I created the following;
10 product heavy layouts
7 cards
1 tag
18 journal cards for daily documenting
and 1 project my son Liam made!

Here is what I started with...
And here is what I was left with

Because this is such a photo heavy post, I will keep the words to a minimum, but if you have any questions, please leave them in the comments :)

the black camera acetate in this layout is from the backing of the Shimmelle Camera Stamp that came in this kit.  I ended up cutting that stamp into pieces so I could use the dots and the circle lens as mixed media stamping on my layouts

my son Liam made this project :)

The only items I added from my stash were;
gesso
modeling paste
gel medium
gelatos
inks
mists
stencils
watercolour pencils
thread & twine
tissue paper
crepe paper
sequins
roller stamp

And as of this morning Noel still has 3 of these kits left!
You can find them HERE
Its the perfect kit for scrapping all of you summer pictures!

I hope I have inspired you, and is this something you would like to see me post each month?  I am always up for a challenge :)

More Summer Fun with the Pool Party Daily Diary Kit

Hello Everyone! Lynn Kopas here with my third Project Life page using the oh so summery Pool Party Daily Diary Kit!! I have loved this kit and even after three pages I still have leftovers showing how PACKED these kits are! Here's my entire page...
I love stamping on my PL cards. I have a ridiculous amount of date stamps and love how the dates look stamped on my cards.
All the elements in the kit coordinate so nicely! The cardstock stickers are a great way to embellish your photos.
I'm a sucker for frames and use them a lot on my PL pages and layouts. They are fun to embellish or add to a photo.
I printed a few of my Collect App pics in a 4x6 format which allows room for adding more embellishments. Here's a few more close-ups...
This month's kit is AWESOME for summer memories and PACKED with products to make it easy to create your pocket style pages! Thanks for stopping by and letting me share my PL pages!
