This weeks Design Team assignment was to incorporate "Texture" to your project.
I did this several ways. The first was to use the ribbon that Noel included in this months kit. I chose to ruffle and stitch it to the side of my layout. The other way I added texture was to use the sequins also included in the kit. I created a shaker pocket with a vellum die cut, then stitched it close. I also used my glossy accents to adhere several that I scattered across a photo.

What have you created with this months kit? Don't forget to share your projects on our Facebook Group!
This weeks theme is "Spring is in the air". We are having a bit of a late spring where I am from, but I managed to capture the sunrise one morning, showing the snow on the ground. I used the gorgeous rose gold Thickers as part of my title "Where is Spring?"
I also used the super cute puffy bird sticker from the Maggie Holmes Flourish collection as part of the "spring theme" on my project
and here are some close ups
Thanks for stopping by. Have you created anything with the Vintage Spring kits yet? If so, don't forget to share them on the Facebook Group.
Hello, friends! It's Meridy here. In honor of our "Spring Fling" Kits this month, the design team is creating layouts of spring flings, fairs, carnivals, or amusement parks. I would like to share a double page layout. I am using the Daily Diary kit and a 12x12 paper add on kit to create my layout today.
I started off my layout by cutting strips of some of the 12x12 papers as well as some of the 6x6 papers from the Daily Diary kit into 6"x 2" rectangles to go across the top of my layout. Next, I used a polka dot stamp to add the "waterfall" of polka dots across the middle of the layout. Next, I added a strip of the yellow washi from the kit and one of the branding strips to finish off the seam across the middle of the page. Then it was time for me to add my photos.
Since I only had 2 photos of my daughter, but 5 of my son, I decided to add the title and journaling to the side of the layout with my daughter's photos.
I grabbed some of the 3x4 cards, painted the wood veneer yellow, used a Thicker "love" sticker from the kit to embellish this side of the page. I also pulled a couple of heart embellishments from a previous Noel Mignon kit to dress up this page a bit more.
Since I had so many photos of my son, I didn't add too many other things on this side of the layout.
A few embellishments to match those on the opposite side of the layout was all I needed to complete this half. I cut the hot air balloon from one of the cut apart patterned papers from the kit and popped it up with pop dots.
I love all of the beautiful papers in this month's kit and was happy to have them be a prominent feature on my layout this week! Thank you for stopping by!
Hey guys, Michelle here! This week I'm playing with "The Happiest" kit, the limited edition kit from last month (only ONE kit left!!). I love every bit of this kit & can't wait to create more layouts with it!
For now I've started on a Disney album from a trip we took to Disneyland in 2015. I decided to go with a 9x12 album for this trip since I knew I needed a bit more space than the 6x8 size that I typically like to use. And I'm planning on mixing in pocket pages with traditional layouts. I love using pocket pages for trip albums because I'm able to add lots of photos & don't feel like I need to leave some out because of limited space.
The first night we were there we went to Goofy's Kitchen for dinner. SO much fun and great food :) So first I created a traditional page. This is the first time I've played with the 9x12 size and I really liked it.
Then I used a pocket page for the rest of the photos from the dinner. I ended up grabbing a 4x6 card from the last Disney kit Noel Mignon had.
When you take photos at places like Disneyland where there are lots of people, it's nearly impossible to not have strangers in your background. But sometimes they're in a spot that is less than desirable like the photo below:
See that kid just to the right of Minnie? Well, rather than messing with Photoshop to try and crop him out I simply used some of my embellishments to cover him up. I do this a *lot* with my Disney photos!
Word phrase stickers to the rescue!!
And here are my 2 pages together as they'll look in my album:
My style of Project Life (much like my style of life, haha) is kind of haphazard. I'm not trying to keep up with each week perfectly, but I do want to dive into this album this year with documenting our REAL life. A week ago, we returned from an AMAZING trip to Colorado, so I added some pages to my album documenting it.. including a pocket full of lists and prep stuff!
Because I have so many pics from this trip, I am also working on a separate album that is just for the trip, BUT I wanted to make sure it got recognition in my weekly album. The Happy Together Daily Diary kit made it perfect to quickly put this together and not take away a ton of time.
Those puffy heart stickers, y'all. They OWN me. :)
Noel said that the classic kits are already sold out, SO if you want to get your hands on some adorable love themed cuteness, you need to get the Daily Diary kit right here! (And there's only 5 left!!)
Hi! It's Meridy here. Before I share my layout, I want to share a link to my video showing everything you get in the January 2017 "Little Bird" Daily Diary Kit. There is so much great stuff in this kit, I wanted to share it with you! I think there are still a couple of these cute kits available in the Noel Mignon store.
Onto my layout share for today...The Design Team is sharing layouts about our GOALS this week.
Since I will be using the Daily Diary kit every other month, I decided I needed to create a pocket page album, and I wanted to go in a little different direction than a typical "project life" style album. I'm not sure exactly what direction this album will go, but for now, it's to track my goals and progress on my goals for 2017. This is an 8 1/2x11 album. I purchased one of the Becky Higgins Project Life Fuse Tools so that I can create my own page layouts and pockets in various sizes. I really love his little tool, it give me so much creative freedom!
The first layout in my album is where I documented my main goals for 2017. I used the "Reset Girls" 3x4 cards, since they were preprinted with "plan" and quotes about resetting your life. I decided to add a photo of my family, so every time I look at my goals, I will be reminded of why I am working so hard to achieve them.
I used some green Thickers from an older NM Kit to write "2017" and stickers from the "Little Bird" Kit for the subtitle "goals". I added stickers from this kit to all of the cards to dress them up a bit. I also added some of the pretty silk ribbon to one of the cards.
My "word" for 2017 is REDUCE. I would like to reduce things in all areas of my life, so I noted that on the card as well.
I decided to make one of the pockets into a shaker pocket. I filled it with a few sequins and sealed it up with my Fuse tool. I added 2 heart stickers from the kit to the outside of this pocket to complete it.
That wraps up my first pocket page of my new album. If you made a layout about your 2017 goals, please share it on our Noel Mignon Members Facebook page. I would love to see it!!!
Hello and Happy Tuesday! Hope you all had a fun Fourth of July!
Lynn here to share this week's challenge: Watercolor - right up my alley!! We were to use Distress Crayons, two of which are included in this month's Classic Kit, or any watercolors on our projects. I'm using the Summer Lovin' Daily Dairy Kit which is absolutely gorgeous this month!! I am a Ranger Junkie so I have every Distress Crayon (so far) in my stash!! I focused on the Simple Stories components from the DD Kit. Here's my page.
I water colored a background on three of the pocket cards. I used three Distress Crayons: Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade. I used watercolor cardstock and sprayed the cards with water. I then scraped some of the crayon on my craft sheet and added water to that. I picked up each color from the craft sheet with a brush and blended them onto the watered cardstock - the colors move and blend together nicely. Two of these cards were used for photo backgrounds and the third you will see shortly. Here's close ups of the cards.
I stamped the dates on my title card with one of my MANY date stamps!
Here's more close ups. The card of the left below has the watercolor background but it doesn't show up well in the photo.
You can see the background on the card below. The colors blend in nicely with the collection from Simple Stories.
Here's a close up of the water colored background.
Here's a few more close ups. you can see the water colored background on the card below.
These are the last two cards.
Thanks so much for stopping by and we hope we've inspired you to try watercoloring on my projects!!
