What a Lovely Day!

Hello! My name is Anne-Marie and I'm so thrilled and happy to be the guest designer this month. I received the Lovely Day kit late last week and it's BEAUTIFUL. I will be sharing more layouts throughout April but here's a first layout I did.

I love the girly colors of this kit and they were perfect for these pictures of my daughter, Hannah. I layered three papers to use as the layout background. Of course, to save the paper for more uses, there are big holes cut in the back of them. :)

To achieve the look I wanted, I randomly layered patterned papers and embellishments. And I topped it off with a little bow.

I hope you like may layout and I'll be back to share more soon. Have a great week!

A Lil' Card and a Challenge!

I am having so much fun creating with Noel's latest kit, Lovely Day! It has the happiest papers and embellishments in this kit! This awesome stamp was included in this month's kit. I decided to use it as a background to my Prima flower. I used up the last of my soft, yellow, velvet ribbon for this card.......*sigh* I did add my own Easter sentiment. I also did a bit of embossing for a subtle effect.

This week's challenge was based on a Paul Frank Ad. Such a cool challenge!!! I chose to go with the pale colors in the ad, as well as use pipe cleaners for my title.

I used the Lovely Day kit for this LO too! (Except the pipe cleaners and white laser cut paper). Hope you can participate in this week's Ad challenge!
Have a great day!

A little of this and that mixed with a challenge

I found these old pictures of myself in one of my baby albums so i decided that the nightengale kit would work beautifully with the red in my outfit. This is a quick 8.5 by 11. The pink paislee letter stickers came in a previous kit from Noel.

I had some of the Maya Road bathroom people and i thought it would be cute to make something for Mason's teacher. I used some bits and pieces of paper i had left over from the sold out Blue Skies Kit for this and some bits and pieces of things i had in my stash.

This is for the challenge that will roll out on Monday. You will have to wait and see what the challenge is but this is my take on it.

I used some diffrent lines of the Sassafras for this as well as some Prima transparencies and chipboard from Sassafras and the ever beloved Thickers

Springtime Calendar

Goodness gracious! It's taken me all day to finally get this posted. For some reason, just because we are having lots of rain here, it has knocked our cable internet out. It's been driving me crazy to be without my internet connection! AND we are getting even more rain over the next few days, so who knows what my internet will be like... *sigh*...

Anyways, onto my goodie for this week!

I have this wonderful Real Simple calendar from Target- you fill in your own dates and such every month. It's very plain jane and customizable, just the way I like it.

I decided to jazz it up with some of the Lovely Day kit, by making a "background" to hang the calendar on. (I only added on my own Thickers from my stash.)

Using a large piece of chipboard (the kind that comes in a paper pack), I decorated the edges with strips of paper and embellishments. I can then hang my calendar on it. I love that every few months, I can easily change up the way my calendar looks with this same process.

Lovely Days!

Have you seen Noel's newest kit, Lovely Days? It is just such a deliciously yummy kit! Jam packed I tell ya!!! Great papers and embellishments! I couldn't wait to get creating with this kit! This is the first LO I did with it. I've had these pics of my niece and nephew at the LEGO store, since Christmas and didn't know what to do with them. That is until I go this kit! Love the new Sassafrass paper here!

I did add a Hambly rub on to the butterfly's flight. This is not in the kit but can be found HERE in Noel's store!

Have a wonderful day!!! : )

Lovely Day kit is here!

And I got to play with it a bit!! See below for all the details on this kit! This is my take on the current IB sketch (#12). I SO love that site! And everything here is in the kit, except the floss in the buttons. Hope you are all having a "Lovely Day"!!

Five Minute Loopy Flowers

These flowers are so quick and easy, you'll become addicted to making them!

STEP 1: Cut felt into desired width. This sample is about 2.5" wide.

STEP 2: Fold the strip in half length-wise and baste the two edges together using embroidery floss of strong thread.

STEP 3: On the loopy side cut into the strip like you are making fringe. These will be your flower petals. Below is a side view of the loop flower petals you have created so far.

STEP 4: Cut your thread and pull the two ends together, cinching the flower into a circle. Tie a knot with the two loose ends to close.

STEP 5: Cover the center opening with a large button or embellish with other felt layers/flowers/etc. as desired. Your cute flower is ready to use in a project! :D

Cut your strip wider for larger flowers. You can then layer these together to make a fuller looking flower, as shown below.

Another fun option is to use sharp pinking scissors to cut your "fringe" flower petals.

Here is a sample flower with two layers of zig-zagged petals.

I made the one below using crepe paper birthday streamers. Instead of stitching the two edges together, I glued them, cut the fringe, and then attached the strip of loopy fringe to a punched circle cardstock base.
Here is the back of the birthday streamer flower.
For a shabby flower, I used wide grosgrain ribbon. When you cut the fringe into the ribbon the edges fray a bit, giving you this cute look!
Here's another sample. This ribbon had wire in it which I simply removed after stitching the two edges together.

You can layer your different flowers together to create infinite possibilities!

And here is a card I made using one of my flowers. (Card design inspired by Melissa Phillips)

I hope you have fun with this technique!!!! Link us up to your creations! We'd love to see them!

IB sketch and Pencil Lines

This layout is using the current IB sketch. If you have never done one of their sketches you are missing out. So awesome to work with. You can check them out here. make sure you play along this month. Noel is offering up a $40.00 gift card to the store for either goodies or the next kit. What a great prize, eh?

This layout is using the Sold Out Homeroom kit. When i looked at the Pencil Lines sketch from the 6th I knew i wanted to do it. Now i confess. I am always a day late and a dollar short with these sketch sites but whatever. I get it done when i can ;).

Dorothy Marie and a taste of a "Lovely Day"

I was finally able to get my Wedding Cake inspo challenge entry done! I wanted to make this look very classy and vintagey, which is how I saw the cake. I used the MME Bellezo paper pack. I also used various stickles, OA rub ons, some tulle from the Nightingale kit and that beautiful Prima vine.

The new kit "Lovely Day" goes up for sale this Sunday. So I thought I would leave you with a little teaser of what's to come in this super fun, Spring themed kit!

Hope you all have a great weekend! And be sure to check back on Sunday, as I have something planned for that day only!! :)
