Snowy Stories | Oh What Fun Classic Kit

Hello and Happy New Year's Eve!  It's Laura here today sharing a layout using the 'Oh What Fun" December classic kit!   This week the DT members were asked to use icy elements on their projects which was super simple with this gorgeous kit! I opted for snowy background paper, snowflakes, snowmen and metallics to pull off my look.

To further embrace the theme I opted to document this photo of my son in the snow fort that he created.

I began with a snowy background paper and built up a few simple layers.

Then I added in a gold embossed snow flake and chipboard snowman.

Snowmen, snowflakes a metallic sequins, as well as glitter gold colour shine further  add to the theme.

I even added the word snow in my title!

I also have a new process video today, you can watch the video for this layout below or here on my You-Tube channel

Supply List: American Crafts cardstock; Echo Park patterned paper "December Magic", "Peace on Earth" and "Christmas Joy" from the  I Love Christmas collection; May Arts ribbon; Echo Park Chipboard; Simple Stories bradz; Pretty Little Studio flag stickers and acrylic words; Elle's Studio green alphas and washi; Heidi Swapp sequins.  From my stash: Hemptique twine; Zing gold embossing powder; gold thread; Heidi Swapp gold colour shine; Sharpie.

Thanks so much for visiting today!

Christmas recipe book updated

Hey all, Michelle here! I can't believe this is my last post for 2016!! But I'm ready for 2017. And in getting ready for what next year holds I thought I would update my Christmas recipe book (you can check it out here).
I created this book 2 yrs ago with, of course, a Noel Mignon kit! Each year I add to it - new recipes I've found, old favorites, etc. This year is no exception, so I used what I had left of the Oh What Fun Daily Diary kit to make a few recipe cards.
So this year I set to creating some new recipe cards. A couple recipes were a bit longer so I printed them out on 6x8 cardstock, others I used one of the 4x6 cards I had left from the kit. I also write out recipes when they're not as detailed. I think it's nice to include handwriting in the book instead of just typing everything out. I embellished just a bit and that's it! Easy peasy!!
Now, just so you don't think "there's no way I have time to do that with all of my recipes", not every card in my book looks like this. Some cards are simply printed recipes that I slip into the pockets. And some that are my favorites get a bit more attention :)
I also changed the front 4x6 card because I just loved those Christmas trees on the pink background! I also add a photo or 2 here and there like this one from Christmas Eve this year. I think it adds a nice touch to my recipe book along with that 3x4 card from the kit. I also embellished a recipe card from last year with some of the stars from this year's kit.
I love this book and how it has evolved over the last 2 yrs. Every year I look forward to adding to my album!

Documenting Christmas with Oh What Fun Daily Diary Kit & a Video

Happy Thursday!! Danielle here, and I am up with my last Design Team project with Noel Mignon. I was blessed to be on Noel's team for the past 18 month, and work with some talented, amazing ladies.

First up is my process

This weeks Design Team Challenge is "Decem-Brr" - use something icy - a snowflake, vellum, glitter etc. I chose too use my stickles for a touch of icy glitter.

Because this was Christmas week, I had so many photos that I wanted to document. I decided that this week needed an extra page. I chose a Design F page protector from Becky Higgins, and cut off the 3x4 pockets on right side of the page. I then stitched on some of the gorgeous ribbon included in this months kit

Here is a picture of this week, without the insert

and here are some close ups

I used some of the ends of this months ribbon, and stapled to the tops of a few cards.

Here is a close up of the insert

I added a few tags from my gifts to this pocket page. Its always fun too look back on the kids handwriting!

Thanks Noel for having me on the team for the past year and a half! I am so thankful to be a part of such an awesome kit and community!

Oh What Fun: JOY

Hi, Everyone! Jana Eubank here. I hope you are enjoying a wonderful holiday with your family and friends. It's been so nice to cozy up here at home with the family ... no school schedules to contend with ... and do a little relaxing ... and scrapping.

I have one last holiday-themed December Oh What Fun page to share with you today before we switch over to the New Year.

JOY

This page documents my favorite part of Christmas ... just being together in our own little family unit instead of rushing out the door to extended family events. This is where we are making memories.

I grouped together Elle's Studio cut aparts and a tag to look like a present and letters to Sants. The bow was cut using a Stampin' Up die from my stash.

The confetti sprinkles here and at the top left corner of the page repeat the dots in the blue patterned paper at the bottom of the page and remind me of cookie sprinkles left on Santa's cookie plate after he takes a few bites of his treat.

I used the photo overlays from the Daily Diary kit on these two photos. I love the way they add color and make the photos feel that much more important in the design.

I couldn't resist using those two, big, gorgeous, red poinsettia blooms together on this page. I added several die cut pine sprigs created by using a Stampin' Up die from my stash. Isn't the texture delicious?!

Thanks for coming by! Wishing you a very Happy New Year!

Holiday Treats with "Oh What Fun" Classic Kit

Hello, Lynn here with my final layout using this month's "Oh What Fun" Classic Kit. It has been a pleasure to be on Noel's Design Team and I will definitely miss working with these kits each week!!
I used mostly Simple Stories papers and embellishments. Our challenge this week is "Decem-brrrr"... use something "icy" on your project like a snowflake shape, vellum, something clear and/or something sparkly. Here's my layout.
I love using vellum. I added an 8x8 piece of vellum from my stash. I love the transparency of vellum and the soft touch it adds to a project. Here's a few close ups.
I love the gold shimmer in this beautiful green ribbon! Gold sequins also add an extra sparkle on my page.
The thickers in this month's kit are perfect for Holiday pages and add a nice touch of glitter to my layout.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you all have an wonderful 2017!!

{Christmas Eve Traditions} with the "Oh What Fun" Classic Kit

Happy Day After Christmas!  I hope you are all relaxing and enjoying your family and gifts.  Hopefully you got some scrappy gifts!  I'm sharing a layout of our Christmas Eve traditions, using the "Oh What Fun" Classic Kit...

I enjoyed creating this title space with the various alpha stickers, stamps, and the "santa's coming" label sticker from the kit.

I had lots of pictures to use on this layout and 3 different traditions that I wanted to document.  So I decided to use the red glitter Thickers that came in this month's kit to number the different traditions, then describe them in the journaling space on the right hand side of the layout.

I used various embellishments to fill in areas around the photos with small clusters for a little added interest.  I also used some branding strips to ground the bottom of the page.

I finished off the layout with the red Studio Calico color mist spray from the kit sprinkled with a few of the gold Heidi Swapp sequins.  Thank you for stopping by today!!!  I would love to see some of your creations with the "Oh What Fun" Classic Kit over at our Noel Mignon members FB page.

Week 20 | Oh What Fun Daily Diary

Merry Christmas!  Wendy here today to inspire you for one last week, I have enjoyed creating here at Noel Mignon for the last 6 months, thank you so much for the opportunity!  Today's challenge is the Decem-brrrr challenge - use something "icy" on your page; a snowflake shape, vellum, something clear, or something sparkly.

I chose to add a few sparkly red gems to match my page from last week and I also used an overlay to draw attention to my kids under the Christmas tree.

Lots of reds pull my page together and tie them into Week 19, which I shared last week, here is another peek at that page.

Thank you for joining me today, have a blessed Christmas!

HOHOHO Memories | Oh What Fun Classic Kit

Hey there!  Laura here today, sharing a new layout using the 'Oh What Fun" December classic kit!   This week the DT members were asked to create with the theme "All the Trimmings' and more specifically to use 3 types of embellishments.  Since I am a huge fan of embellishments and tend to add a lot of them to my pages, I opted to go for a looser interpretation of this challenge.  I used a combination of paper, plastic and fabric embellishments! You know, paper as in Washi, cardstock leaves, and chipboard; fabric as is thread, ribbon and flowers; and plastic as is sequins and bradz, an acrylic word and a clip.

Any way, on to my layout.

I am documenting a new photo today, sent to me by my son shortly after they had the photos taken.  Actually he sent me a link to download all of the photos - how lucky am I!!

I opted to die cut a large stocking from white cardstock (a Silhouette store cut file) and back it with Pebbles patterned  paper and then hand stitch around it with white crochet thread. It wasn't too time consuming and only took about 30 minutes.

Then I worked on creating the cuff for the stocking, cutting the pieces from some of the cardstock that was included in the kit and adding some machine stitching around them.  These pieces were layered onto craft foam for some dimension.

And then I had fun with embellishing, layering chipboard, flowers, bradz and sequins.

I also added a small cluster embellishments to the upper right side of my page.

I have a new process video today, you can watch it on my You-Tube channel!

Supply List:  American Crafts cardstock in pine, scarlet and white; Pebbles patterned papers "Christmas greetings", "candy stripes" and "holly" all from the Holly Jolly collection; May Arts ribbon; Maya Road flowers; Echo Park Chipboard; Simple Stories bradz and clips; Elle's Studio washi tape; Pretty Little Studios acrylic word.  From my stash: white crochet thread; silver thread; silver sequins; Smooch mist (ice rink) My Mind's Eye vellum; Sharpie pen.

Thanks so much for visiting today!

elf antics

Merry Christmas Eve-Eve all, Michelle here! I thought today since there's just 2 days until Christmas it would be fun to do a page or 2 about our Elf of the Shelf - Buddy. So I went through some photos from 2 yrs ago and pulled out the Oh What Fun Daily Diary kit along with one of my page protectors that has all 3x4 photos.
It was fun going through all of these memories...I had forgotten some of the cute little things Buddy had done that year ;)
The design team was challenged this week to use 3 different types of embellishments which wasn't too hard at all! There are always lots of choices with the kits each month. On some of the journaling cards I added an embellishment like a 3D sticker or wood piece, on other I simply left them as is.

Btw, right after I finished this page my 5 yr old had lots of fun looking at all of the photos :)

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Documenting Wk 51 with a video!

Happy Thursday! Danielle here, and today I am up with Week 51 of my Project Life 2016 and a process video

For this project I used the Noel Mignon "Oh What Fun!" Daily Diary Kit. This kit is packed full of Christmas goodies!

Here is a photo of what my spread looks like with an insert I added for this week. My youngest son made us a Christmas card at school, and I wanted to include it this week. I placed it in a 8.5x11 page protector, then stitched on some ribbon from my stash.

This weeks Design Team Challenge is "All The Trimmings" - use 3 embellishments on your project.

I used more than 3.... oops! I just could stop adding all the fun things Noel put in this kit. Some of my top 3 that I used on this weeks layout are

- Stickers
- Wood Veneer
- Labels
