Christmas Morn

Hey all! I wanted to finish up one more project with the Gingerbread and Peppermint Class Kit before moving on to more January projects. I know a lot of people feel the pressure to be "caught up" with scrapbooking but I don't. I mean, if we were all caught up what would we scrapbook about, right?! But when January rolls around I like to complete at least one layout about Christmas morning knowing that I can go back later and finish up any other layouts for the month (I'll share more about my process for that later).
I already had an idea of how I wanted the layout to go - one larger photo with 3 smaller ones. This page is more of a snapshot of Christmas morning and I'll go back and do another page (maybe a pocket page) with more photos and journaling later.
If you have a lot of Christmas memories to scrapbook there are just 2 - TWO! -  of these wonderful kits left. You can head over to the shop to check it out. I believe there's also one of the Daily Diary kits left as well.

Christmas pups

Hey all and Merry early Christmas!! We're in the home stretch and I still have decorating that I haven't finished yet but it's all good. When my kids get out of school I plan on making lots of cookies & enjoying all of the cheesy Hallmark movies that I can! lol
Today's layout is all about my pups who seem to (almost) love Christmas time as much as I do :) They love hanging out around the tree and are always right up in my business when I'm bringing in new decorations...they have to check everything out of course!
I love that fun pom pom trim that was included in the Gingerbread and Peppermint Classic Kit and couldn't wait for an opportunity to use it on a layout.

Happy Holidays everyone! I'll be back after Christmas to finish up some holiday projects before we jump into the new year!!

{Merry Christmas} Layout with the "Gingerbread & Peppermint" Kits

Well, hello & Happy December 4th!!!  It's Meridy here today, enjoying this holiday season immensely.  I've been crafting and scrapbooking Christmas' past like a mad woman for the past week or so.  Today I'm sharing a layout of Christmas Day 2016 using the "Gingerbread & Peppermint" Daily Diary and Paper add-on kit.

I started by picking some cute background paper, and layering a couple of other coordinating patterned papers on top.  I matted my photos with white cardstock and placed them front and center!

The title of my layout "Merry Christmas" and the Santa were both fussy cut from the 3x4 cut apart cards in the kit.  I added a ticket die cut and a couple of puffy stickers to make my title a little more interesting.

I added an embellishment cluster on the bottom left of my layout which included a couple of the Tim Holtz Christmas flashcards, a 3x4 journaling card, a die cut, a couple of puffy stickers, and our last name spelled with the enamel stickers.  I added a stamped sentiment that reads "so this is Christmas" to complete the cluster.

I added journaling and another embellishment cluster to the right hand side of my layout, to create a visual triangle with the 3 clusters.  I mimicked the same types of embellishments that I used on the layout to keep continuity over the whole page.

That wraps up my layout for today!  I would love to see the Christmas creations you are making with your Noel Mignon kits on Instagram #NoelMignon.  Have a great week!

Christmas recipe book updated

Hey all, Michelle here! I can't believe this is my last post for 2016!! But I'm ready for 2017. And in getting ready for what next year holds I thought I would update my Christmas recipe book (you can check it out here).
I created this book 2 yrs ago with, of course, a Noel Mignon kit! Each year I add to it - new recipes I've found, old favorites, etc. This year is no exception, so I used what I had left of the Oh What Fun Daily Diary kit to make a few recipe cards.
So this year I set to creating some new recipe cards. A couple recipes were a bit longer so I printed them out on 6x8 cardstock, others I used one of the 4x6 cards I had left from the kit. I also write out recipes when they're not as detailed. I think it's nice to include handwriting in the book instead of just typing everything out. I embellished just a bit and that's it! Easy peasy!!
Now, just so you don't think "there's no way I have time to do that with all of my recipes", not every card in my book looks like this. Some cards are simply printed recipes that I slip into the pockets. And some that are my favorites get a bit more attention :)
I also changed the front 4x6 card because I just loved those Christmas trees on the pink background! I also add a photo or 2 here and there like this one from Christmas Eve this year. I think it adds a nice touch to my recipe book along with that 3x4 card from the kit. I also embellished a recipe card from last year with some of the stars from this year's kit.
I love this book and how it has evolved over the last 2 yrs. Every year I look forward to adding to my album!

{Christmas Eve Traditions} with the "Oh What Fun" Classic Kit

Happy Day After Christmas!  I hope you are all relaxing and enjoying your family and gifts.  Hopefully you got some scrappy gifts!  I'm sharing a layout of our Christmas Eve traditions, using the "Oh What Fun" Classic Kit...

I enjoyed creating this title space with the various alpha stickers, stamps, and the "santa's coming" label sticker from the kit.

I had lots of pictures to use on this layout and 3 different traditions that I wanted to document.  So I decided to use the red glitter Thickers that came in this month's kit to number the different traditions, then describe them in the journaling space on the right hand side of the layout.

I used various embellishments to fill in areas around the photos with small clusters for a little added interest.  I also used some branding strips to ground the bottom of the page.

I finished off the layout with the red Studio Calico color mist spray from the kit sprinkled with a few of the gold Heidi Swapp sequins.  Thank you for stopping by today!!!  I would love to see some of your creations with the "Oh What Fun" Classic Kit over at our Noel Mignon members FB page.

elf antics

Merry Christmas Eve-Eve all, Michelle here! I thought today since there's just 2 days until Christmas it would be fun to do a page or 2 about our Elf of the Shelf - Buddy. So I went through some photos from 2 yrs ago and pulled out the Oh What Fun Daily Diary kit along with one of my page protectors that has all 3x4 photos.
It was fun going through all of these memories...I had forgotten some of the cute little things Buddy had done that year ;)
The design team was challenged this week to use 3 different types of embellishments which wasn't too hard at all! There are always lots of choices with the kits each month. On some of the journaling cards I added an embellishment like a 3D sticker or wood piece, on other I simply left them as is.

Btw, right after I finished this page my 5 yr old had lots of fun looking at all of the photos :)

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

"Oh What Fun" with All the Trimmings

Hello Everyone, Lynn here with my latest layout using this month's "Oh What Fun" Classic Kit. Our challenge this week is "All the Trimmings - simply use three different types of embellishments on our project. Here's my page.
I came across this beautiful photo by my talented photographer friend of her adorable daughter. It was perfect for my Holiday page. Here's some close ups.
Plenty of embellishments on this page ... thickers, washi tape, and an acrylic word.
I added sequins and a decorative paper clip.
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a wonderful Holiday season.

{All the Trimmings} Challenge with the "Oh What Fun" Classic Kit

Happy Monday before Christmas---yes, less than a week until the BIG day!  I have a layout to share today using the "Oh What Fun" Classic Kit.  This week the design team is working with an "All the Trimmings" challenge, which means we are using a minimum of 3 different types of embellishments on our layouts.

My layout is a picture of my kids visiting Santa last Christmas.

I used quite a few different types of embellishments on this layout, why stop at 3???!?  I started off with a couple of layers of patterned paper mixed with cardstock to create a festive base for my photo.  Once I had the layers down, I began embellishing.

I started with the title, which is a mix of the 2 alphas that came in this month's kit.  Next, I matted one of the cut apart quotes, threw in a "Santa's Toy Shop" chipboard piece, and tucked in a puffy sticker holly berries and leaf.  I paired this embellishment cluster with a home made journaling card.

Then I moved to the bottom of the photo.  I paired the "making spirits bright" die cut with a chipboard snowflake, a few branding strips, and the "be merry" label sticker to create this embellishment cluster.  I punched some 1" circles and "strung" them together with baker's twine to create the mini banner that swags across the top of the layout.

And with that, the layout was complete.  I am having so much fun with the "Oh What Fun" kit this month, and getting so many of those Christmas photos scrapbooked.  The giant Noel Mignon Kits have so much fun stuff in them---it's great for getting lots and lots of layouts completed.

Thank you for joining me today!  Have a Merry Christmas!!!!

Heading to the tree farm!

Hey guys, Michelle here! It's been pretty cold here in eastern WA which is perfect for spending some time indoors and doing some scrapbooking! Last week my family went to the tree farm to pick out our Christmas tree. We have wonderful farms here and it's so much fun to head out & pick out the perfect one. Normally we go Thanksgiving weekend or the 1st weekend in December. But between school activities and my husband being out of town a lot we were a bit later than normal. And because of that the entire farm was covered in a blanket of snow which was so pretty...and cold!
So I pulled out my Oh What Fun Daily Diary kit to document these memories!
Everything came together so easily since there were so many journaling cards to choose from. How lucky was it that we went to the farm on the 10th and I had a gold '10' in my kit?!
And all of the sticker phrases were the perfect accent to my photos. I also grabbed some enamel dots from my stash.
I decided to emboss the wood tree that was in the kit with some green embossing powder. I simply placed the wood piece on my Versamark pad trying to cover it as much as I could. Then I added some embossing powder and used my heat tool to emboss. It didn't quite emboss as well as I'd hoped (maybe because the wood piece was so thin?) so to compensate for that I added some glitter Stickles on the top. It's ok if it's not perfect :)

This week the design team is using washi & ribbon on our pages so I added washi to my top left card along with that cute ribbon to the bottom of my 'Joy' card, stapled to keep it secure.

Happy Holidays!!!

{Wrap it Up} Challenge with the "Oh What Fun" Classic Kit

It's Meridy here with a "Wrap it Up" Challenge.  We are "wrapping up" our layouts with ribbon and washi today.  I am using the "Oh What Fun" Classic Kit today, I think there is still one more kit available in the store---and it is amazing!!!!

This kit was perfect for my gingerbread house pictures from last December.

My favorite part of this layout is the super cool title.  I thought it was cute.  I love the 2 different fonts that came in this month's kit, they complement each other so well.

I use some of the washi strips on this side of my layout and the "ribbon" I used wasn't actual fabric ribbon, but a faux ribbon sticker with a notch cut out of the end.

I added a few puffy sticker stars, popped up the gingerbread man die cut with pop dots, and stamped a few polka dots on the background paper to complete this side of the layout.

I used an 8x10 collage on the right hand side of my layout, I was able to include quite a few pictures this way.

I decided that I would pile on the embellishments.  There are so many cute things in this month's kit, I didn't want any of them to go to waste.  So I staggered them across the bottom of the collage, and tried to balance out the sizes, colors, and textures of the various embellishments.

I really had fun using so many embellishments, and I love looking at all of the details on the layout.  Thank you so much for stopping by today, I would love to see what you are doing with your "Oh What Fun" Classic Kit on our Member's Facebook Page.
