{Lazy River} with "The Big Splash" Classic Kit

I hope everyone is having an AMAZING summer, enjoying the sun, the heat, the outdoors, all of it.  Today I'm sharing another layout with "The Big Splash" Classic Kit.  This kit is a fun one, and it put me right into the "summer scrapping" mood.

I wanted today's layout to feature some of the beautiful stamps that came in the kit.  So with that in mind, I began arranging the background layers and placing my photos.  I used fairly monochromatic papers and ink for this layout, with just a few pops of the complimentary color, orange, which I took directly from the photos.

Now that I knew where my papers were going to be, I went to work with a few of the palm frond stamps and 3 different colors of green/teal ink.  I randomly stamped the 2 different size palm frond and mixed that with the 2 different sized smaller leaves from the Heidi Swapp stamp set in the kit on the upper right and lower left corners of the layout.

I used the white glitter alphabet stickers, matted them on black paper, and fussy cut around them to create my title.  I added a chipboard sticker, a couple of puffy stickers, and a cardstock sticker to finish off the title area.

Next, I mimicked the same types of embellishments on the bottom left hand corner of the layout, using chipboard stickers, puffy stickers, and a couple of cardstock stickers.  I kept the page balanced by using the same types of embellishments in both clusters.  I also made sure to add a couple of pops of orange in each cluster.

The last thing I did was splatter some of the blue mist that came in the kit on both embellished corners of the layout.  And with that, the layout is complete.  Thank you for stopping by today!!!

{Pooltime Together} Layout with "The Big Splash" Classic Kit

I am LOVING working with my "The Big Splash" Classic Kit this month!!!  I have another swimming pool layout to share today.  I went with a fairly monochromatic look today to mimic the colors in my photos.

I started with the wave patterned paper as my background and added a strip of the palm tree paper down the right hand side.  I wanted to seperate the 2 patterns in a bold way, so I matted a strip of fish patterned paper and a strip of washi to run down that seam.

I made my own journaling block with a few scraps of paper, a few puffy stickers, and some enamel dots.

My title area is actually covering up some "photobombers" that invaded my pictures.  I placed the viewmaster slide, chipboard, and sticker so that it covered up the strangers in the background.  I embellished this little cluster with a flair button, some stickers, and a couple of enamel dots as well.

My last embellishment cluster consists of some more chipboard stickers, a couple of enamel dots, some stickers, and a stamped image of a flamingo---with BLUE ink, so it matches the layout. I outlined the stamped image with a blue pen. I used the white glitter alphabet stickers to spell out "swim" on black cardstock, then fussy cut around the word, so it popped against the busy background.

The final step was to splatter the layout with some Tim Holtz mist that came in the kit.  It is the perfect shade of blue for this monochromatic layout, and with that, the layout is complete.

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

{Time for a Swim} Layout with the "Big Splash" Classic Kit

Hello friends!  Now that summer is in full swing, I am so excited to be working with "The Big Splash" Classic Kit.  I think there are still 2 more of these amazing kits available in the store.  I'm so sad that this will be Noel's final kit, but I'm going to make the most of it!!!

I absolutely loved the "Marco Polo" paper in this kit, and knew I wanted to use it right away!!!  So it became the background paper of the first layout I made with the kit.  I pulled the light blue from the water on the paper and matted it on light blue paper.

I wanted to pull out the red, black, and gold color on the paper too.  So that's how I chose the papers to use in the layers behind the photos.  The ombre gold ribbon in the kit was so beautiful, I added a strip down the left hand side of the layout.  I layered the ribbon with a couple of border punch strips with inked edges to add a little more texture to the layout.

Next, it was time for me to add a title.  I really wanted to use the pink Thickers that came in the kit, but when I had the whole page completed, the pink looked a bit off to me.  So I colored right over the pink with a red sharpie for a perfectly matching title.

All 3 of the embellishment clusters contained a stamped phrase on yellow paper, some enamel dots, and a puffy sticker from the kit.  I also threw in some stickers, a chipboard sticker, and the date using the glitter alphabet stickers.

I really loved working with these supplies from the kit and using a bit of an eclectic and unique color scheme for swimming photos.  Thanks for stopping by today!

{San Diego} Layout with the "Enjoy the Journey" Classic Kit

Hello friends, it's Meridy here today, I have a layout to share using the "Enjoy the Journey" Classic Kit.  I had a fairly dark photo that I wanted to use on this layout, therefore, I knew I needed to brighten the page up by using some brighter papers. So I used this beautiful ticket paper from this month's kit as my background.

I wanted to add some memorabilia from our hotel, so I made a little pocket envelope from the same paper that I matted the layout on.  I added an embellishment cluster on top of the pocket.  I used some of the puffy stickers, some washi tape, the "adventure" ephemera card, a car clip, and a few stamped sentiments to get a good variety of embellishments.

Next, it was time to add my title.  I used the pretty glittery Thickers from this month's kit and grounded them on a small map die cut.  I added a couple more black puffy stickers, and a few more stamps, and my title area was complete.

That wraps up my layout for today, thank you so much for stopping by!!!

{Eleven} with the "Vintage Spring" Kits

Happy Monday, friends!!!  It's Meridy here today, and the "Vintage Spring" Classic Kit  and Daily Diary Kit naturally scream "SPRINGTIME" to me, and since spring is a time for new beginnings, I decided to scrap another new beginning with these kits this week.  I'm scrapping a picture of my daughter's 11th birthday, which also happens to be 2 days before she started Jr. High.  So these spring images, embellishments, and flowers went prefectly with this photo.

This kit is so beautiful, and all of the Maggie Holmes papers and embellishments make me so happy, so I couldn't wait to use them.  I decided I wanted to use lots of die cuts and pieces of the beautiful gold leaf trim to frame my photo.

I stared with the deer and fussy cut a couple of quail.  We live in the desert, so we see lots of quail (and baby quail) each spring.  Although this page isn't about quail, these icons still work with the layout.

Next, I started layering up a few of the flowers and greenery.  I used pop dots to pop a few things up to add some dimention into the layout.  I spelled out "eleven" with the alphabet stickers and placed it at the bottom of the layout. I didn't want a large title, since there is already so much deatil on this layout, so these small alpha stickers were perfect!

I really liked using the gold leaf trim in whole pieces, as I did in the upper right hand corner of the layout, but I also liked the look of one or two leaves sticking out from under the die cut flowers, it added a little color and texture to the blooms.

A few strips of washi and paper across the top of the layout and a journaling card tucked into the layers of paper finished off the layout.  Thank you so much for stopping by today!!!  Happy Srping!!!

{Tasty Treats} with the "You Go Girl" Classic Kit

Hello Friends!  It's Monday, so it's Meridy here.  I have been working with my "You Go Girl" Classic Kit this month, and I have been working on my Disneyland album.  Today's layout is another one for that album.  I just love how great the colors in this kit work with my Disneyland photos...

I really like the bright diagonal patterned paper in this kit, but once I pulled my photo it looked too busy for the background, so instead I used it as a mat for my layout...the result was a perfect hint of the bright diagonal paper, without being overwhelming.

I thought that the pretzel paper was an amazing addition to the layers on this page, since we LOVE the Mickey pretzels in Disneyland, and I even mention them in my journaling.  After I layered various scraps of patterned paper beneath my photo, I started adding embellishments that went with the food theme of the page.

The Thickers in this month's kit are so super cute.  I really like the font and the variety of colors, so I used them, along with some letter stickers I had leftover from last month's kit to create my "Tasty Treats" title.

I finished off the page by adding my journaling right on the page and a small embellishment cluster on the top left of the layout.  I added the trim from my stash to add a little texture to the page. I would love to see what you create with your Noel Mignon kit on Instagram #NoelMignon.  Have a great week!!!

Creating Coordinating Layouts with the "So Sweet" Daily Diary Kits

Hi Friends, it's Meridy here today.  I have a couple of 12x12 layouts to share with you today using the "So Sweet" Daily Diary Kit and paper add on.

I really like the look of double page layouts in my albums, so that both sides match.  I used to scrap double pagers almost 100% of the time.  But I liked making single page layouts for the first and last page of my albums, and I wanted to make more.  So I tried making 2 single page layouts with the same supplies (and pictures from the same event), this way when they are displayed in my album, both sides still match.  I really like how it's working out.  I still feel like the 2 pages flow together, but I get to be more creative working with a 12x12 space rather than always working with a 12x24 space.

The last 2 weeks I shared the following layouts:

Today I want to share the coordinating pages I made for them!  This is the first layout. I used quite a few pictures, and layered up the paper and embellishments.

I tried to really use the same supplies that I used on the page I made a few weeks ago.

The gold Thickers, puffy hearts, and word stickers were just what I needed to pull it together.  I was also able to mat the photos on the same red cardstock.

I think they will look great next to one another in my album.  Even though they don't exactly match, they have some of the same elements, all of the same colors, and photos from the same event.

This is the page I made to coordinate with the layout I shared last week.

Again, I used the same elements, patterned paper, Thickers, the heart charm, washi tape, and the cute heart with the tassle.

I outlined each layer with black pen, just like I did on the page I created last week.  This is just one more way that the layouts will flow together and "read" as coherent pages.

Here are both layouts that will go next to each other in the album.

Thank you for stopping by today!

{First Colors} Layout with the "She's So Crafty" Classic Kit

It's Monday and that means it's Meridy here, thanks for stopping by!  I want to share another layout I made with the "She's So Crafty" Classic Kit.  There were lots of vibrant colors in this month's kit and some really cool patterned papers, I decided to use this "color wheel" type of paper for a layout about my baby's first box of colors.

As soon as I pulled this paper to work with, I knew I wanted to use the circle shape as a major design element for the layout.  First, I matted and placed my photos on the bottom right of the paper, then I fussy cut a  couple of the paint swatches from another paper.  Next, I punched a bunch of 2 different size hexagons and sprinkled them around the circle to fill in the blank spaces.

Finally, I got the puffy stickers out and sprinkled them around as well.  I decided to add a small cluster of these embellishments in some of the "white space" on the photos as  well, to visually bring the circle around.

I decided the layout looked a little bare, so I added some of the acrylic words to read "Little You", and the "I Love" flair button.  But the layout still looked a little disconnected.  So I decided to hand stitch in white embroidery floss around where the white circle I covered up on the patterned background was.  This finished the embellishments off.

Last, it was time to add my title & journaling, again along the arch of the circle.  And with that, the layout was finally complete.

Thank you for stopping by today!  I would love to see how you used this piece of patterend paper from the kit this month.  Share your layouts on our Noel Mignon Members Facebook page or on Instagram #NoelMignon.  Have a great day!!!
