Discover Your Scrap Style Online Workshop!

Have you ever wondered why it is that some scrapbookers' layouts are
identifiable a mile away?

Do you have trouble deciding what purchases to make or what supplies you want to pull out because you're overwhelmed by it all- or just love it all?

Have you ever thought, "I wish I could figure out what my scrapbooking style is?"

Then this class is for you!

Join me, from the comfort of your own home & at your own pace, hosted by for an online workshop style class; August 1st-3rd! You can purchase the class alone for $12.99 OR combo class ($10.00) + kit ($28.99) for $38.99!

The nitty gritty:

I don't claim to know everything about style and design, but I do know that I have grown from doing scrapbook pages like this:

to ones like this one, that better reflect my personal style and design sensibilities:

(We'll even discover how those early projects had clues to our personal style!)

This is going to be an interactive/discussion style class- not focusing on projects; however, I will be teaching you how to make a Design Workbook and producing a layout that features "your style." I'll also be including lots of visuals and printables (hey we're scrapbookers- we are visual creatures!). We'll be discussing what factors can go into helping you discover your scrapping style, key things to look at in that process, and some practical steps for pinpointing those elements.

What you get:
-my research and discussion on style elements
-my workshop guiding you through at least 3 different hands-on activities that help you define your style
-a completed Design Workbook (the kit comes in handy for this!)
-a layout that represents your style (using supplies you already have on hand)

Please feel free to email me at 2blackflipflops at gmail dot com if you have any questions concerning this class; once you sign up, I will send you a supply list.

Looking forward to chatting with you all in August!

One last Thursday with Kimberly! :)

Hello to all my favorite Noel Mignon friends!
I just want to say how much I have LOVED every single month designing with Noel's AMAZING kits...and it's even better to have an AWESOME fun loving team to work with month after month!
This has been one fun journey that has kept my JOY in this fun craft growing, and I am so thankful to Noel and all of the great wonderful people on the boards! It's been totally a great experience/bonding with great people!
All of the changes to the site have been smooth and so great too...LOVE!
I know you all will enjoy the new Team Noel has in store for you all...they too are my friends and super inspiring also!

I have one last layout to share with you all using products from the June kit Summer Winds
I LOVED working with this kit...and it is loaded to the max with ALL of my personal favorites!
I added a few little extra's to this from my stash of goodies from Greatest View I was their June Guest Designer. It was fun to be able to incorporate This kit with their products as well.

Sometimes it's fun to use one photograph repetitively on a page. For this layout, I used one photograph with different effect applied to each one, and made it an enlarged banner strip down the right side of the enlarged photograph. I really love how this all came together.

Thanks so much for having me...and I will look forward to staying in touch with all of my friends I've made here and will continue to treasure!
Ciao for now...

Altered Metal Serving Tray....

I can't believe the month of June is almost behind us! Where does time go!? I wanted to thank the whole team and everyone for having me guest design for this month! I really had a great time creating with this amazing kit. I even bought the July kit and it is just as amazing! I can't wait to start playing with it!

My last project is one I have had in my mind for awhile but was just waiting for the right paper and embellishments! I picked up a couple of these vintage aqua serving trays at one of my favorite antique stores nearby. I thought it would make a great magnetic board!

First I measured my papers to the width/height of the inside of the tray and then layered them. I also cut a strip of paper and punched three butterflies on one end and place it over half of one of the adorable doilies in the kit. Once I had that done and cut I glued a fun trim to the edge of the backside of the papers and adhered it to the tray. Next I just added some twine, photos, and embellishments.

I really DO love flair buttons and for this project I actually used a 3/4 magnet and placed it on the back of the flair and used it to hold the photo to the metal board! I also placed magnets on the back of the mason jar and the cloud pieces from the kit. I like that I can swap out photos and embellishments to go with what I want to display!

I hope this will inspire you to take something ordinary and make extraordinary with products from Noel's inspirational kits! Thanks again for having me and I look forward to contributing to the gallery and seeing what everyone else is up to!!! Have a great rest of the Summer!

Brace Face

This week it was my turn to work with one of the new Cricut cartridges . . . so of course I pulled out one of my trusty Noel Mignon kits for the papers and embellishments! I used the Jack & Jill kit and added a few blue papers from the Cabin Fever and Homespun kits.

My two oldest children recently got braces on the same day together. I used papers from my scrap bin to cut out my Cricut images and Cricut title. I used stickers and decorative brads from the Jack & Jill kit to accent each cut and the striped Basic Grey PB & J paper brings all the different colors together. I also added the candy sticker from the October Afternoon 5 & Dime Word Stickers along with a red paper clip from my stash.

Thanks for letting me share!

Happy Monday!

Summer To Do List Dry Erase Board

I know you may have already seen this around the internet, but it's the first time my family has made one of these cute "Summer To Do List" boards, so I thought I'd share mine here with you!

I found this large frame at the Dollar Tree. I have not seen big ones like this there before! I planned on painting the frame, but for now, I think I like the natural wood look for the summer time. I am thinking I can change out the inside design for each season.

I pulled out the Summer Wind kit and began playing with papers.

I was worried about that pattern being too busy to write across, so I switched it for a lighter paper that has lines on it... easy for writing neatly! :)

Then I began layering:

It's amazing what matting a piece of paper can do for it:

Then I pulled out the Silhouette and customized a pre-made banner from the store with my own text:

While it was cutting, I cut out a couple of stickers and laid them where I wanted them to go... sometimes I will do this before actually peeling off the sticker so I can move it around and get the right placement:

My cute little banner:

I put some darker patterned paper behind the letter so they would stand out better:

Time to adhere everything! With a project like this that is going to be behind framed glass, you have to be careful to not get too lumpy bumpy, otherwise it won't fit.

My final product! (It's so hard to photograph glass without a reflection on it- sorry guys!)

Ready to go with our list on it! I can't wait to reuse this each year. My kids LOVED making our summer list too! :) Now it's time to start checking off boxes.

Thursday with Kimberly *Summer Wind kit*

Hello to all my favorite NM fans!
I hope you all are having a wonderful Thursday! :)
I'm here to share some fun with Summer Wind's Kit

Here are some close up's too!
I really LOVE playing with the doilies...such a great size to work with. I scrunched it in the middle and tied it with some of the twine in the kit, Then added the ribbon and button for an additional embellishment. :)

I love the stamps in this kit too. I used the paint dauber in the kit with the stamp and overlapped it once it was dry. It's also fun to stamp it a couple of times overlapping over the word for another interesting look. :)
This layout was my layout for the challenge we did with Scrappin with Music. I loved doing that and this idea.

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a wonderful rest of your week!

Already scrapping Father's Day!

Other than having fun, new scrapping products to use, I think I am most inspired by good pictures.
And that is why I could not wait to scrap pictures from this past weekend!
Yes, there are many other events and pictures that I still need to scrap and get into my albums.
But I really wanted to scrap these pictures from Father's Day!
{stomping feet and pouting}
So I grabbed my "Summer Wind" kit and got to scrapping!
Here is what I made...

I love all the bits and pieces in this kit!
Have a great day friends!

Altered film holder

I am a big second hand and thrift shopper and I love to repurpose old items to make new ones. I decided to use this old film holder to make this project. I used the lovely patterned papers from the "Summer Wind" kit.

First I cut a piece of  Pink Paislee paper to fit inside the film holder. Next I added one of my favorite photos from Rialto Beach, Washington, from a trip last Summer. I wanted to keep this project simple so I just added a piece of ruffled trim to the top and wound some Queen and Co. twine and added the adorable brads from the kit.

Using more of the patterned paper I punched some butterflies and stacked them with glue dots to give it some dimension. I also punched a border and added it behind my photo. The "Lovely" sticker was perfect and since it already had adhesive all I had to do was place it on my project.

I hope this has inspired you to use your kit to alter something different! It's always fun to make something old "new" again!

Point & Shoot

Happy Monday, Everyone! Jana Eubank here to share another Summer Wind scrapbook page with all of you.

A couple of months ago, my family and I went on a quick vacation to Disneyland. Before we left, I bought a new Point and Shoot camera to take with us. I had so much fun experimenting with my camera at the park while waiting for my family on all the rides. I loved the way they came out and decided to combine several floral shots together on this page.

I chose to use neutral colored elements in light blue, tan, and cream to let the photos really shine. Most elements come from the Summer Wind kit, but I also added the Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden Wooden Shapes, Crate Paper Emma's Shoppe Phrase stickers, and Crate Paper Portrait Layered Chipboard stickers.

Thanks for taking a look!
