He's All Swagger

Hi everyone and happy Tuesday to you! I'm here to share my last Melrose layout today. I LOVED this kit, so much! Are you sick of hearing me say that because I think I've told you every week how much I love it.

The gold in the Melrose kit was perfect for scrapping a photo of my handsome son all dressed up in his tuxedo for prom with his gold tie. He just looked so grown up too I had to have a photo of the two of us together.
I stuck with a gold/cream color scheme except for the little pops of pink. I figured I could get a way with a little pink since it was a prom page, lol! :)
I wanted to include some stars to make it feel a little more masculine didn't have any chipboard stars from the kit left so I substituted some from my stash and splattered them with the Heidi Swapp Gold mist available in the shop.

I also found a cute vellum and gold banner when digging through my stash for some stars that complemented the Melrose kit perfectly so I added it across the top.
I used the prom slogan from the tuxedo rental company for the title of my layout. I felt it was perfect for scrapping teen boys all dressed up. I used those fabulous gold Thickers from the kit and the pink letter stickers are from the Lasting Love kit.

If you have any prom pictures, whether they were taken this year or in years past, the Melrose kit is perfect for any dress/tuxedo combo with the multiple colors and gold accents.

The Melrose kit is sold out, if you missed out on the kit you can pick up the Melrose Paper Only Kit in the shop. Also, don't forget to sign up for a kit subscription so you don't miss out on any future kits!

Thanks for visiting today. I'll see you back here next week with something fun using the brand new Country Lane kit.

{1987}

hi everyone! happy Monday!

I'm back today sharing my last layout using Noel Mignon's
April kit - Melrose:

{1987}

yes, that's me. LOL! 1987 called...they want their hair back..right?
I just happened to stumble on a few of these shots of me back in the day
and for some reason..looking at the Melrose kit, it seemed PERFECT
for my 80's pic of me in my SR. year - in my prom dress.

The gold glitter Thickers - first of all..GENIUS idea.
second of all...so 80's (but so TODAY!)

and the bow - I had to add the bow. I was ALWAYS a bow girl.

I hope you've enjoyed this little step back in time with me .

Back next week using May's beautiful kit - see you soon!

Fly Away With Me

The Country Lane kit arrived at my house yesterday and I whipped up a quick card with it and my Silhouette machine.

I used the Silhouette machine to make the card itself, and then pieced together the backing to make it "pop."

Some of the fun things you can find in the Country Lane kit:

-star pins
-glitter glaze
-ephemera tickets
-sheer tape

and that doesn't even touch the surface of the kit!

Have you got  yours yet? What are you waiting for? Or better yet, lock in your sub today
so you don't even have to worry about fighting for your kit!

So Happy Together

Photobucket

Recently I have been inspired by series of geometric shapes.  It's a fun way to keep design simple, while being able to display a variety of colors and patterns.  I decided to grab my Silhouette and a bunch of patterned papers from the Melrose kit & start cutting!!

 photo sohappy600_zps9843b8b2.jpg

Being that my picture was a playful image of my son & his cousins, I decided to space out the triangles I had cut in a somewhat haphazard way.  Then I stitched them down in columns.

 photo sohappycu3_zps01ec1fb5.jpg

I kept the title simple by using a premade tag, and then added the "noted" sticker & wood button with the "laugh" sticker layered on top of it.

 photo sohappycu2_zps112058a0.jpg

On the bottom of the photo I added an additional sentiment using an Elle's Studio tag from the kit & a Jillibean Soup script word sticker.  I also added an additional Elle's Studio tag at the bottom of the layout with the date stamped onto it.

Hope this inspires you to take a few moments to think about some series of geometric shapes you could incorporate on your own layouts :)  Thanks for stopping by!!

Joy RIde

Hi everyone! A couple weeks ago my son's wrestling team had their awards banquet. They had a recording breaking season both as a team and individual wrestlers. After recognizing them for a job well done they hit the games. I captured a couple of photos that show their fun but yet competitive side off the mat!

I used Julie's sketch for my layout. I think this one is really versatile, I'm anxious to try some more ideas with the sketch.
I added punched circles in three sizes onto each upper color blocks. I really love what it added to the layout.

The journaling is tucked behind that photo on the Take Note card.
All supplies come from the Melrose kit, except the piece of wood veneer and the flair. Add some flair to your next Noel Mignon order, it is available in the shop! The Melrose kit is sold out but the Melrose paper only kit is available, if you don't already have it I highly recommend picking it up.

Did you know that kit subscriptions are being taken right now for the next term. You can sign up right here!

Did you also know that if you share the news about kit subscriptions you will be entered for an awesome giveaway? You can read how to enter right here on the blog.

Thanks for visiting! Have a fabulous day!

Oh Hello Flashback!

today I'm flashing back. Back to 1999.
this photo - I've held on to this photo for a long time.
I haven't ever scrapped it, just held on to it. No reason really... just because.
It isn't a perfect picture by any means. BUT it is to me.

it's perfect because that little face belongs to my now 22 year old daughter.
She was 8 years old here. It's a COLD spring day and we are at all day
soccer games for her and her brother. She was SO cold. She just wanted
to snuggle with her daddy, under a big quilt. For some reason...
I loved her little pink nose & decided to snap that shot.
Anyways - this photo is a flashback. Back to when my baby girl was
still what she would let me call her - my baby girl! No matter what, she will
always be that, no if's and or buts about it! My Savannah...isn't she darling?

I used the Melrose kit. I LOVE this kit! LOVE it. Did I say LOVE?
My layout is based on Julie's sketch. I changed things up a bit, but it's mainly
the sketch, with a few added things.

I hope you've enjoyed today's inspiration.
and for going back with me - :D

Have a great day!

p.s. did you see the blog yesterday? Did you see this?

8 is great

My oldest turned 8 a couple of weeks ago. I've been a mama for 8 years! It's a little unbelievable to me. This sweet girl has grown up a lot in the last year, and while in the past I would have used copious amounts of cotton candy pink and lavender to scrap a page about her, I loved the navy and gold combo that was in the Melrose kit... thrown in with a dash of minty green, and it reflects the fun but maturing tastes of my big girl.

I used Julie's sketch  but flipped it on its side instead. Remember that awesome Heidi Swapp fringe trim in the Soda Shoppe kit? I wanted to mimic it and added some fringe to the edge of my layers with my scissors.

I love a simple garland of tags. It's one of my favorite accents to a layout!

The embellishments in the Melrose kit add so much variety to a cluster of decor- lots of fun texture.

Everyday Summer Days

I got to play with Julie's awesome sketch from yesterday, and here's what I came up with.

Lindsey Dixon started a conversation in the Facebook group on whether or not you are a planner or a wing-it type of scrapper.  I used the sketch as a start, but the rest was winging it.
I scaled it down...using that gorgeous map paper from Webster's Pages.  I planned on using these geometric Christmas trees to replace the circles in the sketch, but by accident, I loved how they looked together like this.
Then I picked the photos...these couldn't have been more perfect...I'm ready for the pool to be warm enough because the weather sure is heating up.
I replaced the circles with other embellies...I am always floored by the amazing variety of embellies and paper that Noel packs in these kits.
Hope you get a chance to play with this kit and sketch...have a great week!

Sketch Time!!

So excited to be back this week with a new sketch challenge for April - YAY!!!  This month the sketch showcases two photos, some fun circular embellishments, and a mix of patterned papers.  Keep in mind the sketch is simply a starting point - feel free to make it your own to work for your photos and supplies :)
 photo aprilsketch600_zps4238a15e.jpg

Here is what I came up with using the April Melrose kit.  I stuck with mostly neutral patterned papers, but found lots of fun embellishments within the kit to add "pops" of color throughout.

 photo happy600_zps3b49f764.jpg

I used one of the Amy Tangerine envelopes to "house" all my title work.  The graph paper you see through the envelope is actually from the Amy Tangerine packaging :)  For my circular elements, I used a mix of punched patterned paper sunburst circles that I stitched down and some of those fun SEI gold stickers found in the kit.  These are an easy way to add a bit of subtle glitz to your layout :)

 photo happycu1_zps7fbff14b.jpg

As usual, there were TONS of great stickers and tags in the kit to cluster around the photo.  I also added some splatters of mist in grey and gold to the background.  In addition, the Pink Paislee gold rub-on stars were PERFECT to add to the background :)

Are you ready to jump in and try out this month's sketch???  Grab your scrappy goodies & get started :)  Your entry to this challenge is due May 3rd .  Once you have completed your entry, be sure to post your entry on our Facebook group.  One lucky participant will be randomly selected to receive a $10 gift certificate to the Noel Mignon store!!!  Looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with - Happy Wednesday!!!
