Last Monday - Happy Summer

Hi everyone!

Leslie here today with a little card I put together for today's post:
Before I share my card, I want to say thank you to Noel, Virginia,
all the sweet girls on the team and ALL of you out there!
Today's my last post here at Noel Mignon as a design team member.
It's been a FAST year - but it's time for me to move on & let
other lucky girls get a chance to play with Noel's beautiful kits!

So with that - I wish all of you a wonderful summer & thank you again
for letting me share so many of my inspirations with you.

Today's card - using June's Beach Blvd. kit:

I hope you've enjoyed today's quick post!

2 For 1 Monday - Part 2

HI everyone! Happy Monday!
I'm back this week with another episode of 2 for 1 Monday :D

Funny story - when I was creating this weekend, I grabbed the past 2
kits (Country Lane & Beach Blvd) to combine some things together.
I got up to let my pups out & just completely had a brain spasm because...
I started working on my layout and realizing...wait. this is the Country Lane
kit by itself! I was almost done. SO instead of combining like I planned...
you get 2 layouts for the price of 1. ha!

So here you go...here's the first layout I did using Country Lane:
"What A Hipster"

I just LOVE the Hipster line by Basic Grey. So much so that
part of the packaging went on my page. The chipboard packaging
behind my son's photo is the BG pkg. I LOVE it! I wanted to use
it as my title - so I incorporated it somewhat. I thought it was perfect
for my son's SR. photo's. I'm still scrapping them - I have SO many!
He graduated in 2010 - plus I had the BEST photographer ever.
(photo by:  Andie Smith of Andie Mae Photography)

here's some closer shots:

and for my 2nd layout  I used the Beach Blvd. kit:
"Like A Boss"

I about DIED (laughing) one day when I looked under my scrap
desk to see Bandit, our 13 year old mixed terrier in our pup's (Lilly Pulitzer's)
bed. Hilarious! I had to snap the picture.
I used the new app by Elsie #ABeautifulMess to create the words
on my photo, then printed it out and here it is on this page.
Bandit...he still acts like a puppy! I love that boy.

Here's some closer shots:

Hope you've enjoyed 2 For 1 Monday!

Have a great day,

I LOVE Savannah's Smile!

hi and happy Monday, y'all!

I'm stopping by to share a layout I did over the weekend about
my favorite girl - MY girl Savannah!
Contrary to popular belief - I didn't name my girl Savannah after
the movie "Savannah Smiles" - however:  I DID use some of that title
for my layout title :D

I hope you enjoy:
I LOVE Savannah's Smile:

here's a couple of closer shots:

I love this June Beach BLVD Kit. It's GORGEOUS.
Full of summer goodies - yet other goodies..in fact so much you can
create anything! Not just summer...

I took the Distress Paint & dabbed it a few places then took a pen
and drew around the circles. I LOVE that look. I've done that before
- it's a fun and easy technique.

Thanks for stopping by today - I hope you've enjoyed my bit of
Beach BLVD. Inspiration!

have a great day,

*I Got It From My Mama*

good Monday morning!
I'm here today to share with you a layout I made using May's
Country Lane Kit:

"I Got It From My Mama"
(as Will I Am would say....I know you're singing it, ha!)

This yellow chevron is so striking with these little black and white
Iphone shots my niece took of her precious girl (my great niece!) just
being fancy free...

This child is a  total CLONE of her sweet mama.
(hence my title)
Her sweet little voice, her tiny body, her hair, her face, her beauty -
that's her mama.

I used some elements from the Dear Lizzy paper as my embellishments
Totally love the outcome! Feathers are still kinda big in the industry -
but instead of using them in their normal featherly fashion - they became
leaves for my beautiful Pink Paislee flower.

Thanks for taking a peek into my creation today.
I hope I've inspired you to get your May kit out and start having fun!

Have a great week!

*I get to be THEIR Mama!*

Welcome to another Monday edition here at the Noel Mignon blog!

Today I'm back to share with you a layout I did  based on being a mom.
This coming weekend we will celebrate being a mom, having a mom, just all
things about mom/mommyhood.

I think it's truly a wonderful gift I've been given -
just being THEIR mama:

I used the new May kit:  Country Lane (which is unfortunately sold out!)
You can get the Paper Only kit right here:  Country Lane Paper Only

I did add some vellum - I loved how it looked with my dark background, making
it somewhat softer around my cute kids pic :D
Just used a little bit of embellishments that reflect how special they are to me
& waaa laaa- this quick  layout is the outcome.

Here's a few closer shots:

I hope you've enjoyed  today's inspiration! Have a great week!

{1987}

hi everyone! happy Monday!

I'm back today sharing my last layout using Noel Mignon's
April kit - Melrose:

{1987}

yes, that's me. LOL! 1987 called...they want their hair back..right?
I just happened to stumble on a few of these shots of me back in the day
and for some reason..looking at the Melrose kit, it seemed PERFECT
for my 80's pic of me in my SR. year - in my prom dress.

The gold glitter Thickers - first of all..GENIUS idea.
second of all...so 80's (but so TODAY!)

and the bow - I had to add the bow. I was ALWAYS a bow girl.

I hope you've enjoyed this little step back in time with me .

Back next week using May's beautiful kit - see you soon!

Oh Hello Flashback!

today I'm flashing back. Back to 1999.
this photo - I've held on to this photo for a long time.
I haven't ever scrapped it, just held on to it. No reason really... just because.
It isn't a perfect picture by any means. BUT it is to me.

it's perfect because that little face belongs to my now 22 year old daughter.
She was 8 years old here. It's a COLD spring day and we are at all day
soccer games for her and her brother. She was SO cold. She just wanted
to snuggle with her daddy, under a big quilt. For some reason...
I loved her little pink nose & decided to snap that shot.
Anyways - this photo is a flashback. Back to when my baby girl was
still what she would let me call her - my baby girl! No matter what, she will
always be that, no if's and or buts about it! My Savannah...isn't she darling?

I used the Melrose kit. I LOVE this kit! LOVE it. Did I say LOVE?
My layout is based on Julie's sketch. I changed things up a bit, but it's mainly
the sketch, with a few added things.

I hope you've enjoyed today's inspiration.
and for going back with me - :D

Have a great day!

p.s. did you see the blog yesterday? Did you see this?

(Click there!) Perfect, right? I'll say!

{Peace*Joy*Love}

there's a certain type of peace when anyone enters my home.

at our entry, as soon as you open our door - you'll see a wall of crosses
that I've been collecting through the years. Some are old, some are new,
some are bright..some are blue. (sorry, my inner Dr. Seuss came out)

Each one has a story. Some are from near (Hobby Lobby!) and some are
from FAR away (Jerusalem, Israel is my farthest one).

I love this cross nook in our entry. I want to fill the entire entry walls
one day. Right now, I LOVE how calm, peaceful & serene it is.

It's a representation to all who pass by or enter - we are believers.

I used the Melrose kit to create my layout. I intended it to be soft,
muted & gentle. BUT I had a little gold mist incident & decided...

it looks ok, I'm leaving it. So I added on top of it.

I crinkled all my papers & distressed them before gluing them down.
The vellum - wow, that is beautiful! And cuts like butter. I made 3 banner
strips, crinkled and glued them first.

I added a flair button by Shelley (you can find them here:  A Flair for Buttons
in the Noel Mignon store.

Thanks for letting me share with you today!

Have a great week!

Melrose is a STAR!

along with my sweet son!

Hi, Leslie here today sharing a layout I created in all of 30 minutes
yesterday using Melrose!
There's NO denying I LOVE this kit.

I love how it's packed with ALL amazing things that
make you able to create absolutely anything!  I grabbed a large
photo that I had of my son just lying around & pulled together these
gorgeous colors from the kit & this is what I came up with:

*Star*

Stars are one of my very favorite shapes. I use them like crazy.
(Hearts too, I LOVE using both shapes) Aren't the Luxe stars from
Pink Paislee gorgeous? Yum..I love the gold dots all over them.

I have a thing right now for gold. The Luxe (Pink Paislee) rub ons
are like butter. Aren't the arrows perfect with stars?

When I sat down this afternoon to create this layout, I started a movie,
grabbed my coffee (and water) & knew I'd be here at least an hour
...when I finished & realized it was only 30 minutes - I couldn't believe it.

I hope you get to find time to grab your kit and create away today!

Thanks for letting me share some Melrose inspiration with you.

Have a great one!

Enjoy The Little Things

Hi everyone! It's that time again...time for another Monday post!
I'm here today to share my very first layout using the GORGEOUS
April Kit:  Melrose.

"Enjoy The Little Things"

I can't get enough of this kit. The colors, all the textures...YUM.
You're definitely going to want this kit if you don't have it in your hands yet.

That sweet little face is my niece. I just LOVE that little girl.
There's a funny story about this pic...well about the trimming of this pic.
I wasn't paying that much attention while I was trimming and I accidentally
trimmed her cute bow off the top of her head.
Well...in this kit are the CUTEST tiniest bows I've EVER seen.
Problem solved..and how cute does she look with a giant polka dot bow?
I love that little girl to pieces.

But about the kit - seriously, go get it now. right here:  Melrose
I got mine last week & couldn't WAIT to dive in! With Easter & all our
family plans - I had to wait until late Sunday night to sit down and  have
fun with this kit.

Here's a few closer shots:

Another fun thing from this kit that I LOVED are the
Amy Tangerine cards with envelopes. I used one of the cards
as my title, above my photo. How cute is that!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
I hope you have a great, creative fun day!

What Is Your Perfect Day?

hi everyone! happy Monday!

Welcome to the first day of the Noel Mignon Spring Fling!
ALL this week the DT has big plans to challenge you - to create & have fun!

Every day there will be a specific challenge for you to enter on our brand new
Noel Mignon Facebook Page. There's prizes too! One is a chance to be our
Guest Designer! How fun is THAT!!

I'm starting the week off with my challenge. It's a journal prompt:
"I know it's Spring when....."

Here's my layout:

Journaling is very important to me. I feel like my photo's tell LOTS of stories,
but writing it down on my project - really makes it come to life.
There's so many different ways to journal. You can type it, use letter stickers,
or like me - hand write it. I always hear "I don't journal because I hate my handwriting."
Well...stop that! Even if you do feel that way - it's ok, but you should challenge yourself
to at least pen the date in your writing. If you do it just once, I bet you're hooked!

My journaling reads:
I live for happy moments.
Spring. To me, it's God sharing new life with all of us.
New blooms, new growth, new life.
I love sitting in my backyard enveloping it all. (it should say enveloping myself in it all)

See?
it's just a little journaling - but it gets the point across because to me - the pictures
say "Hello Spring!"

Here's a couple of close up shots:

Now go challenge yourself, use this journling prompt:
"I know it's Spring when..." any way you want
and link your project back up to our Facebook page - in this album:
Monday's Challenge: Journaling Prompt
(click on the album, submit your photo)

and have fun creating!

-my project was created using the March "Daffodil Hill" kit.
-the "what is your perfect day" is from my stash. I bought a TON of postcards
a few years ago with the BEST sayings on them & have held on to my last few.
This is one. I had to use it for my page. It's also part of my journaling (just an idea
to see how to use journaling in many different ways!)

Happy Spring!
