Flu season

We're dropping like flies at my house! And what does a scrapbooker do when the flu hits her house? She scrapbooks it! lol So far only my youngest daughter has gotten the flu but 2 of us have had some kind of virus that we're working on getting rid of. So I'm hoping that'll be it and we can all get to feeling healthy again!
I pulled one of the last patterned papers I had left from the Gingerbread and Peppermint Classic Kit and paired it with journaling cards and even some of the 6x6 papers from the She's Crafty Daily Diary Kit for my layout today. You can see those 6x6 papers peeking out from behind my photos.
I printed my photos in black and white since they worked better with my layout (the orange walls at my daughter's doctor's office just didn't go with my page!) And sometimes I just really like the look of black and white...it draws your eye right to the subject of the photo rather than getting distracted by the background.

I love to create with the She's Crafty Classic Kit

One last layout with the She's Crafty Classic Kit.  I have loved creating with the crafting theme this month and  I couldn't let this opportunity go by without paying tribute to my own love of creating.

I enjoy a wide range of crafty mediums and showed a few on this layout.

I started with the beautiful circular pattern paper and used it to place my title.

Once I decided on the placement I then punched out 2x2 pattern paper/cardstock blocks and placed them along the bottom 1/3 of my background paper.  I pulled out the chipboard stickers and began to find homes for them among the pattern paper/cardstock squares.

I printed my photos at a 1.75 x 1.75 giving a nice mat around the edges.

I cut a slit along the bottom of my title and slipped my typed journaling underneath.

The rainbow lover in me geeked out a bit when I started pulling out the puffy stickers and enamel dots and realized they would pair perfectly with the background paper.

And there you have it a tribute to some of my favorite forms to create with.  Here is one more look at my finished layout:

{New Haircuts} with the "So Sweet" Kits

Good morning!  It's Meridy here, and I could not wait to break into my February "So Sweet" Daily Diary Kit and paper add on.  This kit is filled with Valentine's goodness, but it's also versatile to use with photos that aren't lovey dovey too.  Today I'm sharing a layout from last spring when we took the baby to get his first haircut, and ended up getting all 3 kids' haircut.

As you can see, the colors in this month's kit went really well with my bright photos. I started with the scalloped paper and broke it up a bit with the teal and white striped paper strip across the top of the layout.

Next, I began layering the 6x6 papers and branding strips from the Daily Diary kit to create a resting place for my photos.  You can see I used lots of different patterns on this layout, but since the kit coordinates so well, it all flows.

I used some Thickers I had in my stash and an alphabet stamp I got in a Noel Mignon kit last summer for the title.  I even pulled the chipboard scissors and the acrylic "love" from last month's Classic Kit to use on this layout.  I know they are sewing scissors, but that's ok with me.

I placed a few of the heart embellishments on the layout, outlined each layer with a thin black pen, and added a bit of washi here and there.  Finally, I added my journaling to the journaling card, and with those finishing touches, my layout is complete.

I really love the hearts with the tassel dangling from the bottom, so adorable!!!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Recreate: She's So Crafty DD Kit

Hi!  Sarah here with this week's layout using the January Daily Diary Kit.  This week, we are challenging everyone to document your crafty hobbies.  Those can be painting, wood carving, basket weaving, cake decorating...whatever it is that you love to do!  For my layout, I'm actually documenting something my daughter loves to do: Paint!  For Christmas this year, we gave her a little art kit where she can recreate famous paintings following a step by step guide.  It also came with a little booklet with information about the artists and the paintings.

The paintings were done on tiny little chipboard canvases.  Once she was done, I asked if I could put them on a scrapbook page for her album and she said yes!  I literally just stuck them down with my ATG gun.  For the background paper, I found this awesome frame print paper from Amy Tangerine (not in the kit).  It just seemed perfect for an art themed layout.

I used a word phrase sticker by each painting along with some epoxy stickers or enamel dots.

I used a die cut from the kit for my journaling and the letter stickers for the title.  I like how the letters stand out even on the busy background.

One of the cut apart sheets from the kit had this heart on it so I cut it out to add here and it was just perfect!

Thanks so much for joining me today!  Please share with us how you are using your kits this month to document your crafty hobbies!

sharing my craftiness

This week we are focusing on getting crafty.

The truth is, I used to be really crafty.

I would sew a little and crochet and do cross stitch and embroidery, I would paint and do scrapbooking.

Now with my kids and their various activities and other demands on my time, I really don't do any of that any more.

One thing that I enjoy, one hobby that I have continued since I was a kid, is photography.

So, I chose to base my project on that today.

I started with a plain white cardstock canvas and poured some acrylic paint and some of the Ranger Liquid Pearls from the kit onto my paper and then used a popsicle stick to spread and mix the paints.

I used one strip of patterned paper and tore the bottom edge.

From there I added my photos and journaling spots.

It really is a simple page design. I just added the scalloped chipboard border sticker, a piece of flair and some other little embellishments to finish off the page after adding my title using the black Thickers in the kit.

Thanks for stopping by Noel Mignon today!

Party Animal

I like to party. And by "party" I mean stay home in my PJ's and do crafts.

Yep, that's me! lol

This week we're scrapping our crafts/hobbies, etc and I have several. I started scrapbooking 16 years ago when my first child was just 3 weeks old. And in the last 16 years I've added lots of other hobbies to the list...card making, sewing, quilting, anything crafty! Hey, you don't know if you're going to be good at something until you try it, right?!

So today's pocket page is all about the things I enjoy. I didn't quite have enough photos for a full 2 page spread, so I took a Design A pocket page and cut it in half for page #2.

Because of Her layout with the She's Crafty Classic Kit

I love the versatility of this months kits.  I always love to see how the design team chooses to use the kits each month.  As I was looking through the embellishments it made me think of my grandma.  She is very talented when it comes to working with her hands.  She paints, crochets, knits, sews, and has been known to pull off a lot of DIY projects back in the day.  It's no surprise then that growing up she was a huge influence in my own crafty adventures.

And so goes the topic of my layout this week.  My sweet grams.

I started off with pattern papers that I really liked and cut them into small strips.  I placed them down along the top leaving space for the background cardstock to show through each strip.

I love the pops of color along the top and how this ties in all the colors of the layout.

I decided to fussy cut flowers and placed these on either side of the photo and jounaling.  Now my favorite part of embellishing.  I pulled the chipboard stickers out and began layering them together on either side of the photo/journaling.  I finished the middle section off with a few of the puffy stickers and enamel dots.

To help fill the bottom section I then cut a strip of pattern paper and placed a piece of washi tape along the top for interest.

I am really loving the way all the colors pop against the black cardstock.  I need to remember that in the future ;)

Thanks for stopping by the blog today!  How are you using this months kit.  Be sure to share your projects on the Noel Mignon Facebook page.  We always love to see what you are creating.

{Chick-let Crop} Layout with the "She's So Crafty" Classic Kit

Hello everyone, it's Meridy here.  I have another "crafty" layout to share this week with the "She's So Crafty" Classic Kit.  Today I'm sharing a layout about my kids scrapbooking with me, at a crop especially for kids!  I'm so lucky to have such a great group of scrapbooking friends, we do all kinds of cool things at our crops all year long.

The bright colors in my photos were just perfect for the bright colors in this month's kit!  I started with a couple of strips of the patterned paper with scissors, rulers, and paint brushes on it.  I didn't want that busy pattern to overwhelm my layout, so I just used 2 small strips.

I wanted to try something different, that I don't usually do, to mix things up a bit, so I decided to do a very symmetrical design.  I placed everything fairly evenly right down the center of the 12x12 page.

The "LOVE" card, was one of the cut apart cards in the kit.  I added the large button to read as a "O" instead of using the vintage sewing machine that was printed on the card.

I dressed that card up with the cute scissors charm from the kit, a few enamel dots, and a chipboard camera.

Finally, I added my journaling and the title across the top of the photos to finish off the layout.

And that wraps up my layout share for today.  I would love to see your Noel Mignon "She's So Crafty" layouts on Instagram #NoelMignon

First and Fourth: She's So Crafty DD Kit

Hi!  Sarah here with a layout using the January Daily Diary Kit.  I wanted to document my daughter's first days of school this past school year.

For the patterned papers, I need to hit my stash because the ones in the kit were a bit too busy for what I was looking for.  I grabbed a couple of Amy Tangerine papers and used them here.

I loved the black and white circle die cut and I used it in two spots to highlight the grades my girls started this year.  I just cut it in half and got more use out of it.

I grabbed a small cut from an Amy Tangerine paper that is a bright green and I loved the words on them.  I also used one of the die cuts from the kit for my journaling.

Some of the epoxy and enamel dots from the kit helped to bring it all together and add a little more detail and attention to those spots.

Thanks so much for joining me today!  We'd love to see how you're using your January kits this month, don't forget to share them in the facebook group!

Yummy!

Hey guys! I'm here with another layout using the She's Crafty Daily Diary Kit. The first layout I created with this kit was a traditional layout and this week I went with a pocket page. I also deviated from the theme of this kit to show the versatility of these kits. It's very easy to create a project outside of the theme of the kits!
I went back a few years and found these fun pics of my kiddos during summer vacation when we drover over to Krispy Kreme for a special treat. Thank goodness we don't live close or I'd be eating donuts every day! lol
I loved all of the word stickers in this month's kit. They were a fun addition to my photos. And that 4x6 'who, what, where' card was definitely a favorite!

I have a 13 year old?

Hello!

It's Becky here with you to share a new Noel Mignon kit project.

I know that you're not used to seeing me on Wednesdays, but here I am!

I am filling in for one of our other designers today and have a project to share using the cute She's Crafty Classic Kit.

The focal point of this page is the picture of my oldest daughter, now a teenager.

How does the time go by so quickly?

I drew attention to the photo with some handcut flowers from a piece of patterned paper in the kit as well as a pretty bow from the satin ribbon also in the kit.

I used a couple of rub-on butterflies. I love the rub-ons in this kit. They are super smooth and easy to use.

Yes, I know that this picture has a little something extra in it, a little something fuzzy, ha ha.

We got a new kitty last month and he likes to be where we are.

That's real life for ya ☺

He just wanted to make sure that you noticed the bow, ha ha.

I used a couple of strips of patterned paper- I liked how the black and white print contrasted nicely with the colors on the flowers. I added enamel dots to many of the flowers on my page and finished it off with a title using the chipboard Thickers in the kit.

Have a wonderful day!
