Hanging out with the Aliens

Hi, there!

It's Becky with you again today to share another project that I created with this month's Daily Diary kit, Happy Together.

This kit is so beautiful and while it's so great for Valentine's and love-themed projects it is great for the everyday. That's one of the things that I love most about Noel's kits.

For this page I have used lots of hearts but the page is about Roswell, New Mexico ♥

We were traveling through Roswell on our way to a gymnastics meet in Ruidoso and, as always, had to stop and find some fun photo-taking opportunities.

As we were driving around town we spotted this really cool mural with a bunch of aliens on the back of a print shop and HAD to stop to take some pictures. And, as is also common for our photos, a couple of my girls had to be upside-down.

I thought that the pinks, greens and blues from the photos went perfectly with the Pretty Little Studio items in the kit.

Here's a look at my page:

As you can see, I've used some of the 2x3 cards and little labels for design elements on my page. Typically I would write on the labels but decided to keep them blank for this page. I cut out the cute little camera from one of the cards in the kit and added the hearts with foam adhesive.

The little rubber hearts were one of my favorite parts of the kit! As you can see, I outlined the "snapshot" with a black Sharpie pen to help those words to stand out more on my page.

I used a mix of fun tags and stickers to bring a lot of color to the page, tucking some under pictures and overlapping others right over the top.

I hope you're having a great week so far. Stay tuned tomorrow for more ideas on how to use this month's kit.

Pure Bliss: 5

Happy Saturday!

It's Becky with you today to share another layout for our number challenge.

For my project I chose the number 5.

It is hard to believe that my youngest is now 5 years old- do any of you feel like the time just goes by too quickly? It sure has for me with my sweet kids.

For my page I used this month's Pure Bliss Classic Kit and the colors are perfect for my girly girl who loves to dress up and be "fancy."

Our challenge for this week was to include a number somewhere on our page. I took this challenge as an opportunity to use up some of my collection of number stickers by using some from the Pure Bliss kit and other past Noel Mignon kits as well as some from my personal stash. I think it adds a fun visual element to my page.

I used lots of embellishments including the Paige Evans chipboard that was available as a shop item. The labels across the top of the page are from the My Mind's Eye sticker pack, which I love because you get SO many stickers!

I finished off the page with some handwritten journaling.

I kinda really like how this page turned out with all of the number 5s. My kids have so much fun looking back at old pictures of themselves and I know this page will be one that makes Lily smile down the road when she is older. Yikes. I am not ready for that.

Please come visit us on the Noel Mignon Members page on Facebook and share your projects with us.

Soon we will be revealing the new kit so stay tuned!

A Picture Perfect Page with a Bit of Flair

Hello Everyone and Happy Tuesday! Hope you all had a lovely Easter with family and friends.
Lynn here today with another layout using this month's Picture Perfect Classic Kit. This kit is gorgeous and there's still a few left in the shop so head on over and grab one quick!!! Our challenge this week is "A Bit of Flair". In both the Classic and Daily Diary kits there are flair buttons. Our challenge is simply to show how we included them in our projects!! I created a 12 x 12 layout this week and used a photo from my Crop on the Cape event a few weekends ago. We had a blast and took lots of Instax pics. I love this photo of the girls using photo props. Here's my page
I combined several busy patterned papers but the scale of the patterns vary enough that they go well together. I clustered some chipboard elements around my photo.
Here's a close up the the flair that I used as the center of the chipboard camera.
I highlighted the sentiment with a few chipboard hearts.
We would love to see how you add flair to your pages. Be sure to upload your projects to the Noel Mignon Members page on Facebook so we can see how creative you are.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Being With You

Hello friends! Today I have a layout to share with you using the "Early Autumn" kit ( which is currently sold out). This kit is full of beautiful fall colors and tones.

For my page, I started out with this gorgeous Chickaniddy Crafts paper for my background, and I loved it so much, that I really wanted it to stand out and be seen. I chose two smaller wallet sized photos, and off centered them just a bit, and then worked in embellishments around then in a messy grid style.

I didn't layer much on this layout, I really wanted each piece to stand on its own! It's a different scrapping technique for me, but I love the finished product, and how everything surrounds and draws you back to the photos.

The My Mind's Eye rub ons included in this kit were the perfect bits of finishing touches, and they went on so smoothly!

If you are not currently a subscriber, and missed out on this fabulous kit, you are in luck! Our next term of subscriptions just went up, so don't miss out on another one! Head over here, and sign up for your today!!!

A Roundup!

You guys, I am so sad. It's time to move on from my beloved Tea for Two kit, and embrace the new Early Autumn kit. Which is totes adorbs (ha!) but sometimes you just get attached, ya know?

So to honor my favorite kit of all time, I thought I would do a little roundup of the projects I did with it.

I have to say, after focusing so much on Project Life style layouts for so long, it was so fun to tackle these more traditional layouts that I will be adding in to my Project Life album.

To get all geared up for the Early Autumn kit, I did a little Pinteresting and found some inspirational ideas that I plan to turn into projects for myself. Noel's Pinspiration Monday board is also a great place to get a little nudge in the right direction too, if you're looking for one ;)

I have had a blank six-pane vintage window sitting on the ledge in my living room for almost three months, just waiting for a little dress-up, and this cute little vintage window gave me a little inspiration for an Autumn-ee themed banner. Or maybe a few, draped perfectly over the window. Can't wait to tackle that one!!

This is a project I made a few years ago, and I am inspired to bring it back to new life with this kit!

And then there's this cutie. You could totally do so many different versions of it with the kit. Or even turn it into a dream catcher, instead. Now THAT sounds yummy!

This could be a fun Cameo project, too!

And here's my favorite pin from Noel's Pinboard yesterday! LOVE the color combo, and the rustic twine. So totally fall, just in a different color scheme!

That's all for me today! Here's another peek at the Early Autumn kit, in case you're interested.

AND DON'T FORGET! The next term is opening up for new subscribers starting October 1st! Sign up for a 6 month term, so that you can be sure to get all the goodness that Noel packs into these amazing kits each month. Don't miss out!

In her HAPPY place

Hi everyone! Happy Friday!  Today I thought I'd share one of my favorite pics of my daughter doing what she loves best--drawing and coloring.  I got my inspiration from the photo itself as well as the green "happy" overlay found in the Balboa kit. I love this kit so much for all it's bright bold colors and patterns and I wanted my layout to reflect that.

Also, as my scrapbooking has evolved over the years I've found that I like to focus on my photos first and foremost and let the design revolve around them. Today's layout is no different. I chose to layer 3 different patterned papers behind my picture and then bring in even more color with the top and bottom borders. Since the "happy" overlay wasn't quite the size I needed it to be, I cut away the frame and used the word as a part of my title. I'm all about making my kit work for me! Plus it's fun sometimes to deconstruct embellishments and use them in new and different ways.

On a side note, remember that this month Noel Mignon is sponsoring the Creative Scrappers sketches. Simply use one of this month's sketches, upload it to the CS blog, and you're entered to win a fabulous prize from Noel! Click HERE for the link to the current sketch! There will be more sketches throughout the month so the more you participate the better your chances of winning! (wink wink)

Well that's all for me! Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

You Make Me Happy

Hello friends and happy Tuesday!! This month Noel Mignon is the sponsor over at Creative Scrappers! My layout for you today uses the "Balboa" kit and is based off of the fun sketch that went up on the Creative Scrappers blog Sunday!

I love using sketches as a starting off point, most often, I will alter them to fit my style and photos. This sketch was no exception! First off, I am going to share the sketch with you.

A very fun sketch, but the part that stood out the most to me was the bottom portion, its very rare for me to use a big block for my title. The adorable Pink Paislee paper included in the "Balboa" kit, was the perfect fit for this layout! I loved it from the first, but knew that I would never use it as a full background. By cutting it apart, and following along with this sketch, I was able to use it in a way that fit my style!

Now, on the top portion, I really liked the grid style, but it just wasn't fitting for the look I had in mind with this layout, so I went my own way with it. Don't be afraid to break the sketches up, and just use bits and pieces that fit the look you are hoping to achieve. Sketches are great starting points to inspire, but that is the point of a sketch to INSPIRE! Whether you keep it straight on with the sketch, or go your own way!
Here are a few close ups for you!

I hope you take the time to play along with Creative Scrappers this month, and try for your chance at a fabulous prize from Noel Mignon!! :)

Keep it Simple

Hi Friends!! Today I have a fun, simple layout to share with you. First let me tell you the back story behind this picture and title, I'm not sure you can read the journaling.
One day a few years back, we were home eating some take out, watching a movie, when all the sudden our youngest daughter, falls back, closes her eyes, and stickers her tongue out. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what she was doing. Our oldest daughter, said "Look, she's playing dead!! HAHAHA!!" ( Really have no clue where this came from, but she was 3 at the time so hard telling lol) We tried everything we could think of to "revive" here, and nothing worked, until Emma stuck a french fry in her mouth..suddenly she was alive again! lol. After that, this became a fun game that they would play anytime we had french fries. So, of course, it had to make its way onto a layout! ;)

I wanted to keep this one fun and simple. I only used my scissors and didn't measure a thing. I just went with it, and I had so much fun creating this way!

I wanted to bring in pops of black since the photo was so dark, a little mist, some thickers, and a black journaling pen brought in just enough without overpowering.

These white alphas were getting lost, so I just messily outlined around them. This worked to bring in more of the black, and help them to pop!

This definitely made me see that sometimes I over-think my creative process...think I am going to have to do more of these types of layouts!

Scrapping Christmas!

Good morning!
Guess what??!
I've still got Christmas pictures from last year that I haven't scrapped!
Surely I am not the only one with that problem.
;)
But at least that means that I get to use the fun "Ribbon Candy" kit to scrap them!
*****
This is a pic from last Christmas of my husband with his mom, brother, and sister.

I actually grabbed the gold glitter Thickers from the "Union Square" kit to add some sparkle to the title.
If you have any of them left, those alphas mix well with this Christmas kit!
*****
I hope your holidays are off to a great start!
Merry Christmas!

A night of comedy

So I went and saw Pauly Shore at the comedy club here in town earlier this summer.
{can you believe that guy is still around?!}
The thing is, though, I didn't really go to see Pauly Shore.
Nope, I was there to see the guy who opened up for him.
His name is John Crist and he is one of my brother's best friends from college.
And y'all, he is seriously funny!
After the show I went and took an obligatory pic with Pauly just so I could really get a pic with John!
*****
Then I used my Union Square kit to scrap it!

{oops...looks like a strip of my journaling slipped a bit & i didn't catch it before i scanned the page}
Here are a couple close up shots of the layout.

*****
OK here are a couple of fun things you need to get in on!
