Sweet Charlotte Classic Kit: Happiness

Happy Wednesday, friends! It's Jana Eubank, back with another layout using the completely lovely Sweet Charlotte Classic Kit (pick one up for yourself HERE).

This week the design team's theme is "Stamping Through the Snow" and we are focusing on ways to use the stamps and mist that was included in January's kit.

I selected a few photos of my daughter playing in the snow for my page today and as I was holding the photos up to the papers in the kit this ombre woodgrain was calling my name! I love the way the pink wash fades into the woodgrain. It has such an etereal feel and complimented the pink in my daughter's snow suit perfectly!

The first thing I decided to do was to create some large washi tape snowflakes on the background of my page to surround my photos. For the medium and small snowflakes, I simply cut the washi tape in half length-wise. I left the edges sticking up slightly so that they would have more of a dimensional look to them. I then sprinkled the Heidi Swapp mist and a few sequins around them for an icy feeling! I love it!

I didn't want to detract from the awesome ombre happening in the background, so I decided to keep my embellishments simple and tone-on-tone. I used the brown cork letters for the title on the top half of the page where the background was woodgrain ... and then on the bottom of the page I used the pink Heidi Swapp "favorite" word where the background was pink! Brown-on-brown, and pink-on-pink! Kind of a fun thing to try out!

The lighter pink on the kraft tag and the neutral wood veneer and kraft colored die cut pick up the mid-tones in the middle of the page.

Finally, I decided that my page still needed "something."  I pulled out the stamps and decided to use the dashed line as "stitched" accents throughout the page. I'm sure it is meant to add journaling lines to the typewriter stamp, but I thought it looked like stitching. I stamped a few clusters at the bottom of the page, to the left of the journal spot, and then again to the right of the title. It was the perfect finishing touch, and I really love how this page came together!

How are you incorporating the stamps and mist into your projects this month? We would love to see! Come share them with us on the Noel Mignon Facebook page, or leave us a link in the comments of this post.

Happy Winter!

P.S. Don't forget! Tonight is the February Kit Reveal Night on Noel's Kit Reveal Party Facebook Page!!! I can't wait to see all the goodies we will get to play with next month. Hope to see you there!

Thankful Layout, Process Video, and Single Page Pocket Pages

Hi Everyone! It's Jana Eubank. I have all kinds of fun things to share with you today using the Golden Delicious kits! I just can't stop playing with them! I am having so much fun!

First up, I have a layout that I created using the Classic Kit. I usually have a hard time starting with a pre-printed design on a background paper, but this barnwood pattern by Echo Park Paper was calling my name! I love the way the lace looks against the rustic wood.

I created a process video of me putting together this page. If you would like to watch it, just click on the video below, or visit my YouTube Channel HERE.

................................

Last week I shared a couple of two-page pocket layouts. Most of the time, I try to use coordinating products on facing pages of my pocket albums ... but it doesn't always have to be that way. Sometimes the photos on the facing pages just don't go with each other. That is when I treat each side of the two-page spread as separate layouts.

Today I wanted to share with you a few single-page pocket pages, using the Golden Delicious Daily Diary kit. Here is what I came up with!

GRATEFUL

This pages uses a mixture of all of the manufacturers in the Daily Diary Kit. That cute bacon card was perfect for this page! We like to eat lunch at a place called "The Corner Bakery." My daughter loves that they serve breakfast all day and every time we go, she orders pancakes and bacon. :)

I added a strip of washi tape to the bottom of the title card and then accented it with a stickers, sequins and brads from the Classic Kit. How cute is that little squirrel!

I cut the little house out from one of the Simple Stories cards to use as an accent. The egg brad looks so cute accenting it on the bacon card!

I *HEART* FALL

For this page, I cut one of the 2x2 cards into a banner shape to accent the top left photo, stapling it on with my mini stapler and accenting it with a couple of sequins from the Classic Kit.

My kit included these two scalloped circle accents. They weren't quite large enough to stand on their own, so I used a circle punch and the packaging of the October Afternoon Memory Mix cards to add a background layer to them. I LOVE using packaging as patterned paper. A lot of times, you can find a complimentary pattern on them that isn't included in the actual product line.

FALL

Finally, I created this page about Fall last year. My birthday is in the fall ... I wonder if that is one of the reasons I love it so much?! Hehe! All I wanted to do for my birthday last year was spend the day crafting in my room. My husband went to the local bakery and brought me home all kinds of yummy treats to snack on throughout the day. He's a keeper!

I also loved how cozy our house and yard were feeling to me. I snapped a few pictures to remember the way the sun comes in the windows. I love taking pictures of the inside of my house once in awhile because it seems like we are always changing and improving things. It's fun to look back on the way we used to have things!

Thanks for letting me share! I hope you find something to inspire you to make some projects with your Golden Delicious Kits.

One last reminder ... TODAY IS THE LAST DAY for you to reserve your subscription spot for the Classic Kits for the next six months. To reserve your kit ... visit this link.

See you next week!

Happy Day at the Apple Orchard

Have you received your "Early Autumn" kit yet? WHAT?! You haven't?! Quick, there's only one left! You do not want to miss out on this beautiful kit!

I got to play with it this weekend and oh my. It's exactly as its name describes: perfect for Early Autumn! Last week, my littlest and I went on a field trip with some homeschooling friends to a local apple orchard and I got so many cute pics, I just had to scrap our excursion.

I used some brads and a tree cut from the October Afternoon paper to make a little apple tree accent.

I love how well these My Mind's Eye rub ons went on... since I used a larger photo as an accent, it was the perfect "pop" on top of it.

I hope you have a wonderful week- we're starting my favorite month of the year!

Scrapping Christmas!

Good morning!
Guess what??!
I've still got Christmas pictures from last year that I haven't scrapped!
Surely I am not the only one with that problem.
;)
But at least that means that I get to use the fun "Ribbon Candy" kit to scrap them!
*****
This is a pic from last Christmas of my husband with his mom, brother, and sister.

I actually grabbed the gold glitter Thickers from the "Union Square" kit to add some sparkle to the title.
If you have any of them left, those alphas mix well with this Christmas kit!

I hope your holidays are off to a great start!
Merry Christmas!

Thankful

Good morning!
I'm a week ahead of Thanksgiving but hey, 'tis the season!
I used my "Union Square" kit and Julie's November sketch to make this "Thankful" layout.

Here are a few close up shots of the page.

I did a bit of fussy cutting to get the leaves to embellish around the pictures.
And it seems that I just couldn't quit so I cut out a few hearts too!

Happy day folks!
Have a good one!

Focus Focus....

Good Monday Morning!

Just a quick stop by today to show you one last layout I did using the
AMAZING November Willow Creek kit:

This past weekend I was able to get TONS of photo's of my college kids.
I couldn't WAIT to scrapbook this one from a group of vintage
camera shots I got of them.

In this layout - everything I used is from the Willow Creek kit.
If you look closely - you'll see "leftovers" from an earlier layout this month.
On my "Epic" layout I used a half of a  sunburst I cut using my Silhouette Cameo.
I decided to keep the "negative" to use later.
Here's my later!
Also - I used another "hello" (cut from my Cameo)
sort of like the one from my project last week.
Another thing I cut from my Cameo is the little camera die.
Antoher fast & FUN project.

Here's some closer shots:

thanks so much for stopping by today!
I hope I've inspired you to get your kit out and have FUN creating.

Fall - Willow Creek Style!

Good Monday Morning, friends!
It's me -

here with a "oh hey, fall!" post for you!

before I show you my creation - let me tell you something.
I got my November "Willow Creek"  kit a few days ago
& the MOMENT I got it, I knew I had to start
creating with it that second. Because I had some plans..it KILLED me to put
it aside & play later.
Well...later came & play I did!
I couldn't WAIT to make something with this fabuous kit:

delicious, right?
have you seen the video Virginia did on Friday about this kit?
if not - go check it out here:  Willow Creek on Friday
and watch Virginia show you everything in it. you'll be amazed!

Here's my layout I created:

(model:  Presley Blake - my amazing niece!)

here's some close up shots:

I went with my family to the patch  & shot these pics of sweet little Presley.
These photo's were PERFECT for this kit!

I also cut those fun leaves with my Silhouette Cameo & had a totally different idea
for them, but in the end, love the way they look.

A little tip before I go - always check the end of your paper (where the barcode is)
for cute sayings (by the mfg of course!) or on the back - a border!
Here I used several different borders that were cut from the bottom of my papers.
and that tag? cut from one of the patterned papers in the kit.
seriously...you won't regret it. get this kit.
Happy Fall, y'all...
have a GREAT day!

First Day of School

I finally got a chance to pull out the wonderful Student Council kit and got the first day of school pictures of my two bigs that I've been saving to use with it!

(The Student Council kit is sold out, BUT there is a Student Council Limited Edition up for grabs!)

This was the first time I've gotten to use the MME acrylic dots, and boy do I love them! I really like how they fit right in with a splattering of mist and big brads!

Also, a small tip for other "literal" scrappers like myself... for some reason, I have a hard time using things like speech bubbles if it's not coming out of someone's mouth (hence why I call myself a "literal" scrapper), so I just snipped off the tip of the "school days" wooden speech bubble and used it as a regular ol' embellishment. Perfect! (I also have a hard time using animals like deer on my pages unless it has some connection to the theme of my layout. Weird much? Yes.)

And now you know another little peek inside of my crazy brain. Please still be my friend. ;) heheh

9 years later...

Good morning folks!!

Today I am sharing another layout I made with the Charm School kit!

It took me a little while to get started on the layout though.
I had a single picture (that I stumbled up while cleaning out our guest bedroom) and a bunch of journaling that I wanted to put on the layout.
But. I. just. could. not. get. going.

So I started looking through some recent layouts to see if anything sparked my interest.
That is when I came across this page I made with the Hudson Valley kit.

Inspiration gained!
I used that layout to jumpstart my creativity, and I ended up with this layout using the Charm School kit...

Have you made anything with the Charm School kit yet??
I am loving it!!

Have a great day!

Tuesday Sketch - Cabin Fever Style

Hi everyone, Lisa here today!

Last year was a record setting snow year in West Michigan. As much as I dislike snow come, it sure is pretty when there is a lot of it! We had so much snow in our yard that you couldn't even walk through it without falling down. It was over my knees!

I had a ton of pictures from one afternoon when we were snowed in and there was no chance of going anywhere. I wanted to fit as many of them as I could onto one page so I created this sketch and I'd love to see how you all use it!

This is the page I created with it using the Cabin Fever kit. The square pictures are 2.5 x 2.5 and the little bit larger focus picture is 3 x 4.

And here's just a close up because I love those snowflakes and the Jenni Bowlin brad!

Happy winter!

Here's a link to the PDF of the sketch if you'd like to download it!
