Hello friends and hello Friday! So glad it's Friday is finally here! Today I'm sharing a layout that is the direct result of a conversation online--my tendency to create layouts about my oldest daughter and not as many about my younger daughter. SO I specifically set out to design a layout about my 2nd girly, the one who shies away from the camera, in order to document a little bit of HER too. These pictures totally capture her sweet little personality, the one that doesn't like being the center of attention.
My Girl Sunshine
Layered flair, trios of brads, deconstructed Elle's Studio tags, stacked chipboard pieces...there's a little bit of everything on this layout. I also borrowed the little label stickers from my Balboa kit (on sale now), but for the most part this layout is entirely the South Shore kit. (hint: these two kits make a great compliment to each other) And I know it's been said before, but I LOVE that I can get so many layouts created with just one kit. And they're not skimpy, paper-only layouts. Anyway, I'm really loving all the patterns and embellishments in this kit!

Together We are Family
Hey everyone! Today I've got yet another layout to share using the Balboa kit (Psst! There's one or two still in the store). I also chose to use Creative Scrapper sketch #271 as a jumping off point for my layout.
Here's the sketch:
Here's the sketch:

And here's what I chose to created based on it:
Obviously I didn't stay exactly true to the sketch by shifting everything over to the left third of the paper or by adding top and bottom edges of the same pattern paper. But for the most part this is still sketch. I love working with sketches because for me they take the guesswork out of designing and I simply get to play with the materials at hand.
Remember that Noel is sponsoring this month's Creative Scrappers contest. Be sure to link up your own creation using this sketch or any of the others from the month of June, and you'll be entered to win a kit from Noel! How fabulous is that?!?! The deadline is June 30, so be quick and upload yours today!!
Happy Friday friends!

quick and easy cards with the Balboa kit
Hello again!
For my post today I decided to create some cards using the Balboa kit. Each of these cards was pretty quick and easy to make, just my kind of project for a busy summer day.
I used one of the Dear Lizzy rub-ons for the card above and it worked so well, even on the trim!
For this card I used lots of triangle banner stickers from Hazel and Ruby.
I cut the round tab off of the We R Memory Keepers wooden sentiment and then painted it in kind of an ombre effect for this quick and easy card. I also added some of the fun clear glitter to the word and to the little hexagons on the patterned paper background.
This one just takes some patterned paper, a paper punch and some of the cute tag and sentiment stickers from the kit. I like to staple the centers of the butterfly so that I can then lift the wings up for more dimension on my card.
What have you been creating with the kits?
We'd love to see!!

The Rincon Crab Invasion
Hello, friends! Today will be my last Noel Mignon post, I've had a great time on this wonderful team and getting to work with these amazing kits! Thanks to Noel, Virginia, and all of my other NM teammates for an amazing year!
I have one last layout I made using the Balboa kit and some photos from my trip to Puerto Rico last year. The house we were staying in kept getting invaded with little terrestrial crabs from the indoor atrium and we thought it was hilarious!
Have a great Wednesday everyone!

First Easter
Hello friends!! I have a simple layered layout to share with you today using the amazing Balboa Kit! There are still a few of these fabulous kits available here, so head over to pick yours up!! Also, don't forget that today is the last day for the 20% off sale! This discount is good on kits too!! Now is the time to stock up on essentials, and pick up that favorite kit that you might have missed out on!!
For my layout today, I wanted to keep it bright and fun, to go along with the pictures of my baby boy on his first Easter. I chose this gorgeous ombre paper from Hazel and Ruby for my background.
Then I just embellished around using a mix of stickers, wood veneers, and layering those fun Dear Lizzy rub ons.
I wanted to bring in a little more color at the bottom of the page, so by anchoring some layered stickers with a simple patterned paper and a solid strip of washi, I was able to keep with the flow, and color scheme I had started with on this layout.
This kit is a must have! Remember, if you haven't already scooped one up, head over to the shop and get yours today!! Use code JUNE2014 to save 20% on all purchases...and it will be shipped out TODAY!!!

Berry Pickin'
This layout started out with inspiration of a pocket style page, but it quickly turned more into a layering of photos, papers and embellishments page. Isn't funny how you start out in one direction and the page just kinda winds up going another? Anyway, that's what happened here and I just went with it. I chose to layer a couple of rub-ons underneath the corner pictures, then added papers, tabs, and even a few enamel dots for some added dimension. The title section was also layered--Thickers, stickers, hand-cut frame on top of another hand-cut out. Just a lot of layering. "On the other corner I hand-cut the butterflies and since they were on the busier side, I chose to leave the rest of that corner to itself. I added a tab to the top and a Chic Tag sticker or 2 to the bottom and called it done.
Anyway, that's a little bit of my thought process and how I go about approaching a layout, or this layout at least. I'm trying to "go with the flow" more and trust my instincts. So far I'm happy with the outcome even if it doesn't look the same as the picture I started with in my head.
Have a happy weekend!

Creative Scrappers sketch #271
Good morning!
As you may know already, Noel Mignon is sponsoring Creative Scrappers this month.
If you participate in any of their sketch challenges during the month of June you could win a free kit!
Today I will share with you my take on Creative Scrappers sketch #271:
And here is my take on the sketch:
I stayed pretty true to the format of the sketch only making my photo/paper layering a bit larger than what is shown in the sketch. All of the product on my page came from the Balboa kit, which is still available for purchase in the Noel Mignon store.
Here are a couple of close-up shots:
If you would like to join the Noel Mignon kit club you can do so by clicking on this link.
Noel has been sharing sneaks of the July main kit as well as the new Daily Diary kit and they both look great! Don't miss out!
If you like what you see in today's sketch and create a layout of your own, please add it to the others at Creative Scrappers for your chance to win a free kit!

In her HAPPY place
Hi everyone! Happy Friday! Today I thought I'd share one of my favorite pics of my daughter doing what she loves best--drawing and coloring. I got my inspiration from the photo itself as well as the green "happy" overlay found in the Balboa kit. I love this kit so much for all it's bright bold colors and patterns and I wanted my layout to reflect that.
Also, as my scrapbooking has evolved over the years I've found that I like to focus on my photos first and foremost and let the design revolve around them. Today's layout is no different. I chose to layer 3 different patterned papers behind my picture and then bring in even more color with the top and bottom borders. Since the "happy" overlay wasn't quite the size I needed it to be, I cut away the frame and used the word as a part of my title. I'm all about making my kit work for me! Plus it's fun sometimes to deconstruct embellishments and use them in new and different ways.
On a side note, remember that this month Noel Mignon is sponsoring the Creative Scrappers sketches. Simply use one of this month's sketches, upload it to the CS blog, and you're entered to win a fabulous prize from Noel! Click HERE for the link to the current sketch! There will be more sketches throughout the month so the more you participate the better your chances of winning! (wink wink)
Well that's all for me! Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

using lots of stickers and rub-ons
Hey there!
It's my turn to share another Balboa project today:
I started out with this grey background from Pink Paislee- one of my favorite papers from the kit ♥ I added some mist to the background and then cut two journaling spots to use to ground my picture.
I wanted to use these Hazel and Ruby conversation bubbles in a fun way so I created this collage near my photo. I added lots and lots of word stickers and Dear Lizzy rub-ons as well as some of the Chic Tags from the kit.
I used my Uniball Signo white gel pen for my journaling to add to the chalkboard look. I also added some small doodles and little hearts on my page with the same pen. This pen is my favorite! You can get one from the Noel Mignon store here.
What are you creating with the Balboa kit?
Make sure to share with us on our Facebook page.
Have a good day!

Silhouette Frame
Hello and Happy Tuesday!! Today I have a cute and simple home decor piece to share with you using the "Balboa" kit.
I have been putting pieces together, both homemade and store bought, for my oldest daughter's room. We are going to do a mini gallery wall, with a collage of fun, and inspiration pieces. I loved the bright colors and chalkboard elements in the "Balboa" kit, and knew that it would go along perfectly with her room decor.
I knew I wanted to use this sticker from the Hazel and Ruby set the minute I saw it, I thought it would be perfect to pair with a simple silhouette.
I layered it with some a label sticker from Chic Tags, and one of the speech bubbles from the Hazel and Ruby set. Made for a fun little bit of interest, and helped it to stand out more against the bold pink background.
It still needed a little something else, so layering one of the acetate flowers and wood buttons, I made a "bow" for the ponytail. Then using the glitter glue, included in our kit, I thickly applied it at an angle to the ponytail, this gave it texture, and sparkle!
All put together, this is going to make for a great addition to her collage...and she loves it, so that's always a plus! :)

8U Champs!
Hi everyone!! I've got a celebratory layout using the brand new Balboa kit to share with you today. Some of you may not know, but one of my other hobbies is playing/coaching sports with my girls. This Spring I helped coach my oldest daughter and her little rec league softball team. We started a tradition last summer of taking selfies before the season and before big games. At the end of this season, we were seated 2nd going in the end-of-the-year tournament. So Caroline and I took a selfie BEFORE the championship game (the one on the left) and then AFTER the game when we'd won the whole tournament. It was a super fun moment, one I'll always remember, and I'm so glad we got to do it together!
I kept the color scheme pretty simple, and chose to highlight the pictures, the fun green and yellow embellishments as well as the black chalkboard elements that come in the Balboa kit.I love the the chalkboard adds texture to go along with the brads, rub-ons, and the different printed patterns. I had fun making this one.
Hope you have a great weekend!
