Beautiful Zion with Little Bird Classic Kit

Hey Nicole here on the blog today!  As Meridy mentioned yesterday we are all using sketches this week to inspire us.  I chose a sketch that I found on my Pinterest sketches board.  It was originally posted on the October Afternoon blog.

This sketch caught my eye because of the number of photos used.  I wanted to highlight a recent trip my husband and I had taken to Zion National Park and knew I wanted to include quite a few smaller pictures.  This grid sketch was the perfect solution. You will see that I did flip the sketch upside down and played with the placement of my title.

I had a really hard time choosing from the Fancy Pants sentiment stickers and went back and forth with title options.  So instead of picking just one I used them all :).  One for my title and the rest on the top block of my layout.  The problem I ran across was when I got my layout all put together the stickers were too bright and seemed to distract from the rest of my layout.

My solution:  vellum.  I trimmed a piece to the same size and stitched it in place.  The result was exactly what I wanted.  The block was now a design feature, but doesn't draw too much attention away from my photos.

One thing I love about Noel's kits, versatility!  These pictures were taken in October when the leaves were still changing.  I easily created some fall leaves for embellishments by fussy cutting only the leaves from the Hazelwood pattern paper.  I then creased them and added ink to give an even more fall look.

And really this layout came together in a breeze thanks to using a sketch.  I love being able to have some of the design work done for me.  Do you use sketches?  If so we would love to see your projects.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today! :)

*All items but the vellum and small date label are from the Little Bird Classic kit.

Fall Fun | Falloween Classic Kit

Hey friends, Laura here today sharing a new layout using my October "Falloween" Kit, it is so full of gorgeous Fall and Halloween goodness!  This week the DT is challenged with the theme "falling leaves" and asked to use leaves of some sort on our pages.

This is the layout that I created using photos of my son and his fiance and their little sweetie, Dylan!

I love this red patterned paper and knew I wanted to feature it on my page, which is how it became my background paper.  I kept most of my elements central on my page, creating a nice focal area for my photos!

I hand cut a little wood-grained tag and clustered my leaf elements around it.

These little Bella Blvd clips are so sweet, I used my sewing machine to adhere this one to my page.

Because I opted for a larger title, I added it to the bottom of my page, these Thickers are so great!

I have created a process video for this layout, you can check it out below or here on my You-Tube channel!

Supply List: American Crafts cardstock, Thickers and wood buttons; Pebbles patterned papers from the Woodland Forest collection - stitched floral and apple cider and wood accents; Echo Park "Fall is in the Air"  Autumn Bunting patterned paper and chipboard; May Arts ribbon; Bella Blvd clip and ephemera; Pretty Little Studios October cut apart phrase strips.  (from my stash)  DMC embroidery floss; Mr. Huey's white mist; Sharpie pen.

Thanks so much for visiting today! Be sure to check back daily for loads of DT inspiration!

Hello Everyone! Lynn here and I'm soooo glad to be back! Today I'm sharing my first layout using this month's "Pure Bliss" Classic Kit. Our theme this week is to create a project honoring our Mother, Aunt or Grandmother for Mother's Day. I found an awesome picture of my Mom AND Gram together and knew it was perfect for this week's theme! I used a few papers from this month's Classic kit and layered embellishments around the photo. Here's my layout
I love the smiles on my Mom and Gram's faces!! So sweet!! Here's a closeup of the dimensional layers around the photo
I added some adhesive sequins and pink glitter dots around the photo.
I used my vintage typewriter to add my journaling.
We'd love to have you participate with this week's challenge and honor the Mother figure in your life.

An Adventure with the Trailblazer Classic Kit

Howdy Bloggers, Lynn here and I'm up on the Noel Mignon blog today with my first layout using the latest and greatest kit from Noel called "Trailblazer". The Classic and Daily Diary Kits are PERFECT for vacation pictures, especially for camping, rafting, hiking or any travel adventures. The blues, browns, reds and greens are so rich and fun to create with. As I was designing my page with the Classic Kit, I remembered my first white water rafting trip I went on YEARS ago. I found the photos and they were a great fit with the patterned papers, especially the photo I chose which captures the end of the rafting day when we finally relaxed and settled down.
Our challenge this week is "Cut it Out". Basically, fussy cut something or cut a negative shape into your design. I took this challenge REALLY simply and used the Pretty Little Studio "Let's Go" cut out tags. These are perfect sentiments to place anywhere on your page. Here's my page
The My Mind's Eye rub ons that coordinate with the papers are a great addition to my layout, especially the larger one I added to the right of my photo.

The burlap tag, traveler clip and wood circle add textures that fit the theme of my page.
Included in the Classic kit is a "Let's Go" overlay that I tucked under my photo.

There are still Classic Kits available, so grab one while you can - you won't be disappointed!!
This is a great time to grab a kit as the July-December Kit subscriptions are currently open. For details click on the link above.
Thanks so much for stopping by today and we would love to see what you create with this week's challenge!!

A Picture Perfect Page with a Bit of Flair

Hello Everyone and Happy Tuesday! Hope you all had a lovely Easter with family and friends.
Lynn here today with another layout using this month's Picture Perfect Classic Kit. This kit is gorgeous and there's still a few left in the shop so head on over and grab one quick!!! Our challenge this week is "A Bit of Flair". In both the Classic and Daily Diary kits there are flair buttons. Our challenge is simply to show how we included them in our projects!! I created a 12 x 12 layout this week and used a photo from my Crop on the Cape event a few weekends ago. We had a blast and took lots of Instax pics. I love this photo of the girls using photo props. Here's my page
I combined several busy patterned papers but the scale of the patterns vary enough that they go well together. I clustered some chipboard elements around my photo.
Here's a close up the the flair that I used as the center of the chipboard camera.
I highlighted the sentiment with a few chipboard hearts.
We would love to see how you add flair to your pages. Be sure to upload your projects to the Noel Mignon Members page on Facebook so we can see how creative you are.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Our challenge this week is "Somebunny Special". The challenge is to create a page about someone special in our life and tell why in our journaling. I chose to feature my Dad. I used Carpe Diem papers from Simple Stories from our kit for my page. Here's my page.
I fussy cut clouds and added the chipboard title to them.
The journaling about my Dad is on a card tucked behind the layers of patterned papers
Here's my journaling
We would love for you to join us in this week's challenge. It's a great way to highlight someone special in your life!
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a great week!

A Picture Perfect Kit

Hello Noel Mignon Peeps! Hope you're doing well. Lynn here to share my layout featuring this week's challenge "Ric Rac". Both the Classic and Daily Diary kits this month include lovely velvet ric-rac from May Arts that's self-adhesive! So, our challenge is to use it on our projects - easy peasy, right?!
I created a layout using this month's Picture Perfect Classic Kit. I chose a piece of patterned paper from Pinkfresh Studios to use as my background. The paper is so pretty on it's own that the layout came together so easily. I used a grid style design for my page and added the ric-rac in several places on my page.
I printed my photo on my Instax Printer - I love the small polaroid pics. I added some die cuts, puffy stickers and a small piece of washi tape.
The ric-rac adds a nice textured look and feel to my page. The cute little birdie is from the Pinkfresh Studios puffy stickers included in the Classic Kit.
Come join us in this week's challenge! We would love to see what you create!
 Have a great week!!

Hello March, Let's Take A Leap!

Hello Bloggers and Happy March 1st! Lynn here with a new project using the awesome "Heart of Gold" Classic Kit. In honor of Leap Year our week long challenge is "Take a LEAP of Faith". We are trying something new to us - a new technique or page design we haven't tried before. I have recently joined the planner craze so I thought I would used some elements from this month's kit to create some planner pages. I haven't done this with our kits before, but I'm not sure why. It's a great way to stretch these kits even more. I used many embellishments to decorate this weeks pages in my planner. Here's this week's spread in my A5 planner.
This planner is dedicated to my design team deadlines and blogging schedules. It's my creative planner. I have a separate planner for personal stuff - appointments, get togethers, etc. We received an adorable butterfly clip in this month's classic kit. I removed the clamp and replaced it with a paperclip to put on the top of my page. I layered washi tape and stickers throughout my layout.
The epoxy stickers made great bullets for my lists.
I have left room for lots more documenting and then I can go back and add more embellishments later. I used some number stickers for the dates and they also added more pops of gold.
To tie the pages together I lined up some washi tape to carry it across both pages.
Here's another closeup of the bottom of my page
I will definitely decorate more planner pages with my kits and I hope this gave you some ideas for your planner pages so you can Take a Leap and try something new!!
Thanks so much for stopping by and stay tuned for more inspiration for the team! Happy Tuesday!!

Choosing Photos to Match my Noel Mignon Kits

I LOVE the huge variety of papers and embellishments in the Noel Mignon kits so much---today I want to share with you how I organize and match my printed photographs to the kits...

Each month after I stalk the mailman waiting for him to deliver my NM kit...I tear right into that box!

First, I pull everything out and study every piece of paper and embellishment---oohing and aahing over every last bit.

Next I face each paper so my favorite side is facing up.

Then I start dividing up the papers into 2-3 "mini kits".  I divide them according to smaller color schemes and include 5-10 papers and some of the embellishments.  I realize that everything in the NM kit coordinates---but I force myself to create smaller "kits" so that I can match pictures up easier.  For example, this is the entire January 2016 "Sweet Charlotte" Classic Kit...

and here are the 3 "mini kits" I created...

I also have the following embellishments left over that I feel can go with all 3 of the "mini kits"...

Next I choose photographs that best match the color schemes of each of the "mini kits"

Mini Kit #1:

These are 6 sets of photos that I felt matched the colors in this mini kit...

 Mini Kit #2:

These are the 3 sets of photos I thought matched these papers the best...

Mini Kit #3:

And here is a set of photographs that I feel matches the color scheme of these papers...

I will add my own solid cardstock to use as the base paper for each layout, I choose that cardstock as I create each individual layout.  I may decide to pull papers, scraps, and embellishments from one mini kit to use in another.  This initial breakdown just helps me get started so I'm not overwhelmed with 25+ pieces of paper to match photos to.

As you can see, I have enough sets of photographs to create 10 layouts using this month's kit.  I know I will have lots of leftovers.  Depending on how productive I am this month, I may go back through my prints and pull some more coordinating photos.  It really depends on whether or not I scrap all 10 of these layouts within the next month.

Here is the first layout that I created with the "Sweet Charlotte" Classic Kit...

I like the way the title came out using the random fonts and one of the tags from the kit.  The "&" sign is something I had to pull from my stash.  To pull the random fonts together for a cohesive look, I backed the Q and the U with the same color coral paper (from another tag in the kit) and cut them out.

I fussy cut the little bouquet of flowers from one of the papers in the kit and added a floral sticker to create this little embellishment cluster...

Just a few embellishments pulled together here, a sticker, chipboard, and a crate paper medallion created a cluster with dimension and texture on the layout.

Thank you for joining me today!  Check back here every day this week to see some of the other "organization" tips that our design team is sharing!!!
