X's and O's and the February Daily Diary kit

Hello again!

Did you join us for last night for the reveal of our March kit?

I am so excited to receive and to start crafting with that cute kit but until then I have another project to share with you.

Today's project features the So Sweet Daily Diary kit and our new little kitty.

This kitty was part of a birthday gift for one of my kids and is now well-loved by the whole family. His name is Crookshanks, named after the cat in the Harry Potter movies.

I used some household items and 6x6 papers from the kit to trace and then cut out the circles on my page. I also sketched an X and cut that out, using it as a template for the x's on the page. I added some detail to those pieces with a Sharpie pen.

I layered the X's and O's with other patterned papers from the kit, then added Simple Stories washi tape strips, some enamel hearts and a few Pebbles rub-ons.

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by Noel Mignon! ♥

New year, new post, new challenge

Happy New Year!

It's me, Becky, here with you today to share my first project of the year with you.

We were challenged to create a project focusing on something NEW.

Well, I did something that was new for me...I created a layout with NO PHOTOS.

Have you ever done that before? It was a switch for me but I like the end result.

I created this layout using the brand new She's Crafty Classic Kit, full of bright, fun colors and lots of great embellishments that I took full advantage of for this page.

Here is a look at the full page:

And here are some detail shots:

To start off I used the ledger paper in the classic kit. I added thin strips of patterned paper on each edge and then added droplets of spray mist in a few different colors. After that I started layering the rubons until I had it set the way I wanted.

I then added strips of the cute washi from the kit at the top and bottom of my page, then added the title with chipboard alpha stickers included in the kit.

The next thing that I did on this page is I started adding my journaling, then more and more journaling to fill the space. In the journaling I talked about how I wanted to try and live in this new year. I mixed in quotes and other stickers to add some variety to the journaling.

I used a blue marker on the acrylic word to help it stand out more on my page.

I finished off my page with a few more embellishments like this cute Jillibean Soup heart and some enamel dots.

So, not only does this page talk about my goals for the new year but I also challenged myself to try something new with this project.

What is something new YOU would like to try this year?

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Line it Up with the Trailblazer Daily Diary kit

Happy Saturday!

It's Becky here with you today to share a new page.

This week we were challenged to use hand-drawn journaling lines on a project.

Here is what I created using the Trailblazer Daily Diary kit:

I started with a blank canvas for this one- a 12x12 sheet of white cardstock. I added spray mist droplets around the page and then went to work creating the background with the 12x12 sheet from Jillibean Soup. I thought these little cards were so cute! After cutting them out I rounded the edges and placed them on my page. I adhered the "You stole my heart" card with foam adhesive to help it stand out a little and did the same with the "This is the good life."

Next came the accents! I knew I would make some handwritten journaling lines though instead of with pen, I used the straw from this gold spray ink to make my lines with the gold mist. I just dipped the straw into the bottle so that it had a little bit of the ink on it and then drew my lines. They aren't perfect and aren't straight at all but I don't mind that.

From there I added the cute flair, some stickers, cute little wooden trees, some enamel dots, and after the journal spot was dry, finished off the page with some handwritten journaling.

Stay tuned next week for a new challenge and maybe some projects with our May kit! It's gorgeous!

Somebunny Special

Hey Everyone, Lynn here with my second layout using this month's Picture Perfect" Classic Kit. This kit is springy and fresh and you will love it - there are a few Classic kits still available so grab one before they're gone!
Our challenge this week is "Somebunny Special". The challenge is to create a page about someone special in our life and tell why in our journaling. I chose to feature my Dad. I used Carpe Diem papers from Simple Stories from our kit for my page. Here's my page.
I fussy cut clouds and added the chipboard title to them.
The journaling about my Dad is on a card tucked behind the layers of patterned papers
Here's my journaling
We would love for you to join us in this week's challenge. It's a great way to highlight someone special in your life!
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a great week!

Inspired by Love Letters--"Heart of Gold" Classic Kit

Happy Tuesday!  This week the design team is scrapping using "Love Letters" as our inspiration. Today I'm going to be showcasing LETTERS in my layout using the "Heart of Gold" Classic Kit.  (I think there are still a couple of these kits available to purchase in the store!)

I like to use all different sorts of letters & fonts on my layouts. I also love using different medium, from Thickers, to stickers, to hand lettering.  It's a good thing the Noel Mignon kits are packed with letters each month!!!

Let's start with the title of my page...I mixed the gold & white Thickers that came in this month's kit with some small alphabet stickers that I had in my stash.  I really like to mix and match the fonts and LETTERS in my titles.  I think it adds interest and is visually appealing.  I added a little text with the Pink Paislee washi strip that reads "capture the everyday" as well.

Next up is the journaling...I like to hand journal, because I think it is important to have my own hand writing on my layouts.  I like the look of typed journaling as well---but it is so much quicker to hand journal, so I occasionally type, but not very often.  I paired the frame that reads "today" along with a sticker that reads "together" to complete my journaling block for this layout.  I like the adding small details to the journaling block because I think it makes it look a little more interesting and dimensional.

And finally, the last LETTERS appear in a banner at the top of my layout that reads "sweet".  This sticker is from the Crate Paper Sticker sheet that came in the kit.  I added this banner because the layout is about Slurpees, which are, or course, SWEET!!!  So this sticker fit the theme of the page perfectly.

Thank you so much for joining me today and checking out all of the ways I like to incorporate LETTERS on my layouts.  Stop by all week to see how the design team is inspired by "Love Letters" on their layouts.
