You are My Sunshine

For the Noel Mignon challenge this week we were to include a sunshine somewhere on our project.

For some designers the sun was easy to find, for others it was more "hidden" on the page.

I decided to make the sunshine on my page a big design element on an otherwise simple layout:

I used the Trailblazer Daily Diary kit for this page along with some bits and pieces from past kits and from my own crafty stash. The splatter paper behind the picture is actually packaging material from the yellow alphas in the kit. The gray lace adhesive trim is from a past kit, as are the enamel dots and the yellow alphas.

The sun was made using the nozzle of my spray mist. Simply dip the straw from the nozzle into the mist and draw whatever you would like on your project. I also used this method to make the lines for my journaling.

I used a few cards from the Daily Diary kit to layer and use for bits of journaling.

The floral and gold tapes are from my crafty stash and the floral rub-on is a store item from Noel Mignon.
The cork heart with the gold flecks was also a shop item.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and come back soon to see new projects for our team using the brand new May kit. Make sure to stay tuned for the blog hop which begins next week!

Line it Up with the Trailblazer Daily Diary kit

Happy Saturday!

It's Becky here with you today to share a new page.

This week we were challenged to use hand-drawn journaling lines on a project.

Here is what I created using the Trailblazer Daily Diary kit:

I started with a blank canvas for this one- a 12x12 sheet of white cardstock. I added spray mist droplets around the page and then went to work creating the background with the 12x12 sheet from Jillibean Soup. I thought these little cards were so cute! After cutting them out I rounded the edges and placed them on my page. I adhered the "You stole my heart" card with foam adhesive to help it stand out a little and did the same with the "This is the good life."

Next came the accents! I knew I would make some handwritten journaling lines though instead of with pen, I used the straw from this gold spray ink to make my lines with the gold mist. I just dipped the straw into the bottle so that it had a little bit of the ink on it and then drew my lines. They aren't perfect and aren't straight at all but I don't mind that.

From there I added the cute flair, some stickers, cute little wooden trees, some enamel dots, and after the journal spot was dry, finished off the page with some handwritten journaling.

Stay tuned next week for a new challenge and maybe some projects with our May kit! It's gorgeous!

Documenting Wk 15 with the Trailblazer Kit!

Happy Thursday everyone! Danielle here and I just wanted to let you know that I am in LOVE with the current Daily Diary Kit - Trailblazer! I love the colours and the style of this months kit! (but seriously, who am I kidding, I say this every month!) Noel filled this kit to the brim will all kinds of goodies!

This weeks spread came together so fast! The only hard part was have to "not" use things and save them for next week lol!
The 12x12 My Minds Eye Happy Camper Chipboard sheet was one of my favourite items in this months kit! I couldn't wait to use the "Fun Ahead" sign!
I pieced together some of the 2x2 cards this month with some washi tape and labels to create my own custom 3x4 card! I also printed some of my photos 3x4 and stitched them together with some of the other 3x4 cards in the kit, to create a custom 4x6 card! I loved how it turned out!

Let's Get Sketchy Take 2

Today I have a layout to share with you based on this sketch from Let's Get Sketchy!:

Using the Trailblazer Daily Diary kit, I created this page sticking pretty close to the design of the sketch. When using sketches you don't have to make your project look exactly the same, but instead can use the sketch for a jumping off point, a source of inspiration instead of making and exact replica of the sketch in your project. For some people, though, copying a sketch really closely is very helpful.

One thing that I liked about using the Daily Diary kit this month is that there are lots of stickers and lots of alphas to choose from. In particular, I used a lot of these label stickers- not for journaling but as a design element on my page, both in the main focal area of the layout but also near the bottom.

I loved the look of the swirly twine on the sketch! I did kind of the same thing on my page, adhering it with liquid glue under my photo and also with some staples. I used foam adhesive on the photograph to help it stand out above the string.

For the "smile" cut I actually used one of the Jillibean Soup cards. I just cut out the word and discarded the rest of the frame. I liked the look of having a diecut title without having to actually do any work on my diecut machine ☺

I finished off my page with these cute star stickers and some enamel dots.

I hope you've enjoyed my post today.

Make sure to check out Let's Get Sketchy! for more great sketch ideas and inspiration and also for your chance to win a free kit from Noel Mignon!

Documenting Wk 14 with the New Trailblazer Daily Diary Kit

Happy Thursday!!! Danielle here today to share with you my new Project Life Spread.
I used the fantastic Trailblazer Daily Diary Kit for Week 14
This kit is definitely one of my all time favourites! I loved all the bits & pieces that Noel included!
How perfect are these resin birds for spring?!! I just used some Glossy Accents to glue it down. Then I added some enamel dots for another little pop.
This was my favourite card that came in the kit. This quote is so true, and its one that I want my boys to "follow" in life.
I fussy cut the "daily note" banner from another card, then stapled it to this card.

Thanks for stopping by the Noel Mignon Blog, to see how the rest of the team used this months kits!
