Have you ever wondered why it is that some scrapbookers' layouts are
identifiable a mile away?
Do you have trouble deciding what purchases to make or what supplies you want to pull out because you're overwhelmed by it all- or just love it all?
Have you ever thought, "I wish I could figure out what my scrapbooking style is?"
Then this class is for you!
Join me, from the comfort of your own home & at your own pace, hosted by noelmignon.com for an online workshop style class; August 1st-3rd! You can purchase the class alone for $12.99 OR combo class ($10.00) + kit ($28.99) for $38.99!
The nitty gritty:
I don't claim to know everything about style and design, but I do know that I have grown from doing scrapbook pages like this:
to ones like this one, that better reflect my personal style and design sensibilities:
(We'll even discover how those early projects had clues to our personal style!)
This is going to be an interactive/discussion style class- not focusing on projects; however, I will be teaching you how to make a Design Workbook and producing a layout that features "your style." I'll also be including lots of visuals and printables (hey we're scrapbookers- we are visual creatures!). We'll be discussing what factors can go into helping you discover your scrapping style, key things to look at in that process, and some practical steps for pinpointing those elements.
What you get: -my research and discussion on style elements -my workshop guiding you through at least 3 different hands-on activities that help you define your style -a completed Design Workbook (the kit comes in handy for this!) -a layout that represents your style (using supplies you already have on hand)
Please feel free to email me at 2blackflipflops at gmail dot com if you have any questions concerning this class; once you sign up, I will send you a supply list.
Looking forward to chatting with you all in August!
When Noel told us this latest challenge, I knew right away what I wanted to share. I have this little mini album sitting in my craft room to remind me when I lose focus of why I do this obsession- er, hobby. :)
I kept a similar format throughout the book to keep it cohesive and easy to put together, and it's still one of my favorite albums. You can see more of it (and the other designers' take on this challenge) right here. (Oh my goodness, that picture above is of Emerson and Atticus just a couple of years ago. Good grief, time is flying by fast!)
I have another layout to share from the Five Foot Two and Eyes of Blue kits. Emerson got to have her first Coke on the 4th of July, and like any good scrappy mama, I took pics to record this occasion. :) The Cosmo Cricket spinner card with the coke bottle spinner was the perfect accent, but since none of the "confessions" on the card fit with the picture, I cut a circle out of patterned paper and adhered it to the card instead. Perfect! I love how the Distress Crackle paint looks when it's really glopped on. So cool and crackly! And here's a few more sneak peeks at the inside of my Day by Day planner! I'll be doing a full reveal to the participants in my "Day By Day class." Jana sent me pics last night of her album and it's BEAUTIFUL (of course!). :) This is such a fun project!
Monday Tuesday and Wednesday was Virginia's class on Design and Let me tell you. If you didn't sign up you missed out because that was by far one of the best classes I have taken. It was full of so much useful information on finding my style. Things i had never really given a second thought until then. *so* glad i took it.
here is my workbook i made using the Rise and Shine kit (Sold Out)
Even though the class is over I am sure if you email Virginia or PM her through the Message board you might still be able to take it. Cost is $8 and well worth it.
