 Well . . . it's just about the middle of the month and that means sketch time!!!!  Yay!! Here is the sketch for October's challenge . . .



And here is a page I came up with using October's Student Council kit . . .



Below you can see a close-up of my title work.  I choose to combine a small word sticker with the Thickers & also added in some of those adorable October Afternoon brads from the kit :)



I got a little bit "punchy" on this page & raided my punch stash to create these fun leaves & circles.  A little pen detail really helped them to "pop" off the page!!

Driving to School

Happy Tuesday, everyone! I'm back with another layout using the Student Council kit and I used three, yes, THREE photos on my page. So for those of you who like to get more photos than one down on a page, I hope this inspires you in some way! :)

I used the photos that I snapped of the kids on their first day of school this year, and I realized as they drove off that this was the first year they didn't need me to drive them to school (sniff) and that I only have two more years to take "first day of school" photos (sniff, sniff).

The Pink Paislee papers in the Student Council kit make wonderful backgrounds for a layout with their subtle tone-on-tone designs and small accents built in. I was inspired by the stars at the bottom of the "Incredible" sheet and carried the theme through the layout.

To create the circle border I mixed and layered papers, brads, and flair to add interest and dimension.

I'm not sure I've ever mixed so many patterns on one layout! But you know, when you do it in small doses, it totally works! Give it a try...it's fun!

It's Monday! It's still Monday!

Hi friends. I'm so sorry I'm late in my post today.
It's officially....MONDAY! (ha!)

 

Just dropping by to share a couple of things I just created using one of my

 What I love the MOST about this kit is it's not just a girl or boy

or like it's title..a school kit - it's an EVERYday kit!

Here I used the kit on one of the cutest pics I just took with my iPhone

of our puppy, Lilly - our little "easy button"

 

I'm so into layering with strips right now for some reason.

I had a blast doing thin strips as well as thicker, wider ones.
And those wooden bubble phrases - wow. I could use those EVERY DAY on every project!

Totally adore them.

to send to a special little girl I know - well she's not so little anymore.

My 21 year old to tell her how proud I am of her!

Little School Days

Not only do I like to document my bigs' days at school, but I also like to include the little girls' "school"- their Mom's Day Out they attend. They feel like such big kids there and it's a big part of our life, so it definitely is included in our albums. 

Our sweet teachers last year took a little "class picture" of my 2 year old's class. It totally cracked me up because while there were *big personalities* in her class last year, you would never know from their blank stares. Hee! My daughter in particular looks OVER having her picture made. Ahh... two year olds. ;)

I used the lovely Student Council kit (sold out, but you can pick up a limited edition version here!). Noel tucked in a few little note sheets in the kit that were a perfect journaling spot for this layout. And the number 2 paper clip corresponds perfectly with Ariana's age!

Hiya everyone!!

Sorry this post is so late getting up.
Sigh.  I've had quite the week this week and I will be glad when it is over. I was all ready to do my post this morning when I realized the pictures I took were of extreme poor quality (not that these are much better).

Double Sigh.

One of the happy things about this week (aside from tomorrow being Friday) was getting to create with the fabulous, but sold out, Student Council Kit.  Don't worry though, if you didn't get a chance to snag one of these kits, be sure to check out the Student Council Limited Kit which is just as fabulous.

I decided to use the kit to document my son's discovery and new love of face time on his new-he saved up for it all by himself-he's so stoked ipod touch that he recently got in the mail.

He has been face timing a friend of his ever since it arrived in his hot lil hands.  They watch tv together, they eat together, there are times that I don't even know his friend is on the phone until I hear Mikey talking.

Mikey told me "It's like having him sleepover without him being here".  He's pretty right!  I only wish that I had one of these as a kid :)

Frame it!!!

 Hello everyone!!!  Today I'm excited to share a layout I created using the Student Council kit.  Mini frames are such a huge trend right now & I was ecstatic to see the adorable Pink Paislee insta frame within my kit :)  I decided to make that my main focus point of my page, adding layered patterned paper, a title, and journaling around it.



I loved the library card patterned paper by Studio Calico.  This was one of those papers that is great to cut apart a tuck behind here & there.



I'm big on mixing fonts within a title, the grey Thickers were from the kit, and the teal Thickers & orange sticker alphas from my stash.  I created those little arrows simple by cutting them from one of the little ribbon stickers on the Lawn Fawn Dewey Decimal sticker sheet found within the kit.

Hi everyone! I'm back with another layout using the October Student Council kit! Although it is school themed, I've made two layouts with it now that are not school related at all! I love the versatility of this kit! Seriously, love!

I decided to use all that adorable Lawn Fawn paper and stickers, along with a few October Afternoon pieces in the kit. Here is what I did:

The title was inspired by the catalog file paper. The "File this under" was stamped using a Lawn Fawn alphabet stamp set I had in my stash!

Here are a few close-ups.

I used the Heidi Swapp Color Shine Spritz for some splatters again. LOVE this mist...the shimmer is fabulous! There are some additional colors of the Color Shine Spritz in the shop. The yellow and grey would be fabulous with the Mint Green that was included in the Student Council kit.
