{Lazy River} with "The Big Splash" Classic Kit

I hope everyone is having an AMAZING summer, enjoying the sun, the heat, the outdoors, all of it.  Today I'm sharing another layout with "The Big Splash" Classic Kit.  This kit is a fun one, and it put me right into the "summer scrapping" mood.

I wanted today's layout to feature some of the beautiful stamps that came in the kit.  So with that in mind, I began arranging the background layers and placing my photos.  I used fairly monochromatic papers and ink for this layout, with just a few pops of the complimentary color, orange, which I took directly from the photos.

Now that I knew where my papers were going to be, I went to work with a few of the palm frond stamps and 3 different colors of green/teal ink.  I randomly stamped the 2 different size palm frond and mixed that with the 2 different sized smaller leaves from the Heidi Swapp stamp set in the kit on the upper right and lower left corners of the layout.

I used the white glitter alphabet stickers, matted them on black paper, and fussy cut around them to create my title.  I added a chipboard sticker, a couple of puffy stickers, and a cardstock sticker to finish off the title area.

Next, I mimicked the same types of embellishments on the bottom left hand corner of the layout, using chipboard stickers, puffy stickers, and a couple of cardstock stickers.  I kept the page balanced by using the same types of embellishments in both clusters.  I also made sure to add a couple of pops of orange in each cluster.

The last thing I did was splatter some of the blue mist that came in the kit on both embellished corners of the layout.  And with that, the layout is complete.  Thank you for stopping by today!!!

{Pooltime Together} Layout with "The Big Splash" Classic Kit

I am LOVING working with my "The Big Splash" Classic Kit this month!!!  I have another swimming pool layout to share today.  I went with a fairly monochromatic look today to mimic the colors in my photos.

I started with the wave patterned paper as my background and added a strip of the palm tree paper down the right hand side.  I wanted to seperate the 2 patterns in a bold way, so I matted a strip of fish patterned paper and a strip of washi to run down that seam.

I made my own journaling block with a few scraps of paper, a few puffy stickers, and some enamel dots.

My title area is actually covering up some "photobombers" that invaded my pictures.  I placed the viewmaster slide, chipboard, and sticker so that it covered up the strangers in the background.  I embellished this little cluster with a flair button, some stickers, and a couple of enamel dots as well.

My last embellishment cluster consists of some more chipboard stickers, a couple of enamel dots, some stickers, and a stamped image of a flamingo---with BLUE ink, so it matches the layout. I outlined the stamped image with a blue pen. I used the white glitter alphabet stickers to spell out "swim" on black cardstock, then fussy cut around the word, so it popped against the busy background.

The final step was to splatter the layout with some Tim Holtz mist that came in the kit.  It is the perfect shade of blue for this monochromatic layout, and with that, the layout is complete.

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

{Time for a Swim} Layout with the "Big Splash" Classic Kit

Hello friends!  Now that summer is in full swing, I am so excited to be working with "The Big Splash" Classic Kit.  I think there are still 2 more of these amazing kits available in the store.  I'm so sad that this will be Noel's final kit, but I'm going to make the most of it!!!

I absolutely loved the "Marco Polo" paper in this kit, and knew I wanted to use it right away!!!  So it became the background paper of the first layout I made with the kit.  I pulled the light blue from the water on the paper and matted it on light blue paper.

I wanted to pull out the red, black, and gold color on the paper too.  So that's how I chose the papers to use in the layers behind the photos.  The ombre gold ribbon in the kit was so beautiful, I added a strip down the left hand side of the layout.  I layered the ribbon with a couple of border punch strips with inked edges to add a little more texture to the layout.

Next, it was time for me to add a title.  I really wanted to use the pink Thickers that came in the kit, but when I had the whole page completed, the pink looked a bit off to me.  So I colored right over the pink with a red sharpie for a perfectly matching title.

All 3 of the embellishment clusters contained a stamped phrase on yellow paper, some enamel dots, and a puffy sticker from the kit.  I also threw in some stickers, a chipboard sticker, and the date using the glitter alphabet stickers.

I really loved working with these supplies from the kit and using a bit of an eclectic and unique color scheme for swimming photos.  Thanks for stopping by today!

High Five Times Three

Hello again!

It's almost unbelievable to me that we are almost at the end of another month.

Summer has flown by so quickly.

I've had fun scrapping with our colorful and summery kit, High Five, this month.

I got both kits and have loved being able to mix things up on my projects.

Since our designer challenge this week is to create a layout that does NOT feature summer, I have this page to share:

Background for this photo: One of my girls had a gymnastics meet in Oklahoma City last winter and while we were there I took my two oldest to the NCAA gymnastics meet to see OU compete since we'd had such a great time doing so the year before. My husband stayed at the hotel with the little girls. After the meet was over we decided to just walk back to the hotel and in our journey came across this really cool colorful mural and had to stop and take a picture. Of course!

Because of the colorful nature of the photo I wanted to do something fun on my layout. I had both High Five kits so I decided to use the ribbon from both kits in a fun way. I love the layered look of fringe and ribbon so I went about creating this ribbon background by cutting 8 1/2" strips of ribbon and stapled them to 1" strips of white cardstock. I then layered them on a sheet of 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock alternating the pink and orange. I really like how it turned out!

I thought the little Bingo cards in the kit were so cute. I layered a couple of those and packaging from one of the embellishments to create a mat behind my photo.

I added strip of washi tape to the top of the page and some cute cardstock butterflies to bring more color to my layout. I bent the butterfly wings to the center and stapled each to my page to give them more dimension. I added a few sequins here and there to the layout.

I really liked the aqua sentiment stickers and that beautiful blue bling tape so I added those to my page as well. I LOVE this kit so much! It was so fun to create with.

Because I've made some extra projects this month I would also like to quickly share those with you. These pages, however, have a very summery feel as the pics were taken on our trip to the beach earlier this month.

summer fun

Good morning!

I am back and our computer and internet are fixed!

Hooray!

Today I have another project to share with you using a mix of the Classic and Daily Diary High Five kits. I have loved working with these kits so much this month that I have all of my assignments done plus extra!

I hope that you are enjoying your kits as well. We'd love to see what you are working on!

For this page I based my page design idea on the little 2x3" cards from the Daily Diary kit. I especially liked the colorful one with the roller skates, sunshine, rainbow and sunglasses.

After adding my photo to the layout I added lots and lots of stickers and other embellishments.

I added foam adhesive to the little cardstock pink sunglasses, a strip of blue rhinestone bling tape, a little flamingo, etc.

I topped off my page by adding the title using a mix of stickers from the kits.

Have a wonderful day!

{Crazy Cousins} with the "High Five" Daily Diary Kit

Hello friends!  Happy Monday!  It's Meridy here and I have a 12x12 layout to share with you today.  I am using the "High Five" Daily Diary Kit and the paper pack add on for today's layout.   I am so happy to be using all of these bright summery colors this month, so I found some bright summery pictures to use on today's layout.

I started with the background papers and stitched them down to add some texture to the layout.  Next, I started layering the patterned paper behind the photos, building up to the "Be Happy" bingo card.

Next, I pulled a variety of different embellishments from the kit, including enamel dots (from an older Noel Mignon kit), the puffy sticker labels, some sequins, and Thickers to spell "100%".  I used these embellishments to create a couple of clusters, one on either side of the strip of photos.  I added a little journaling, and that wrapped up the layout!

Thanks for stopping by the blog today!  I would love to see what you made with your Noel Mignon kit this month on Instagram #NoelMignon.

Splash!

Hey everyone! We're playing with color schemes this week and after seeing Nicole's monochromatic blue layout I decided to do the same thing myself! I had pool photos that I wanted to use so I thought they'd go perfect!
I started with the Pebbles 'Sunshiny Days' paper with those wonderful blue waves from the High Five Classic Kit and then set to decorating with elements from the High Five Daily Diary Kit. I love how well the classic and daily diary kits go together and I can grab things from both kits. Another option is to add the extra paper pack from the classic kit when ordering the daily diary kit which is what I did this month.
Be careful with that wave accent...I handled it a bit too much and accidentally ripped it. Nothing a little adhesive won't fix!! You also might notice I actually used the packaging from the Pretty Little Studio bingo cards behind one of my photos. I just loved all the typewriter wording on it!

I deviated from the blue color scheme just a bit and added those iridescent sequins from the kit which added just the right amount of texture to my page!

{Flip Flop} Home Decor with the "Dive In" Classic Kit

It's OFFICIALLY summer! This week the design team is sharing our creations from a sketch, and I had a layout from a sketch all ready to share...and then yesterday I stopped by a crop that some friends of my were hosting to say hello.  When I got there, my friend Sandra was working on a super cute "SUMMER" flip flop sign.  When I saw her finished product, I knew I had to use her project as a "sketch" and recreate it using the papers and embellishments from the "Dive In" Classic Kit and the "High Five" Classic Kit.  This is what I came up with...

I started by purchasing 3 pairs of flip flops from Dollar Tree, Walmart also has flip flops for 98 cents.  I bought two 5 gallon paint stir sticks from Walmart for 37 cents each to use to adhere the flip flops to.

Next, I decided to cover one pair of flip flops in the Hawaiian floral paper from the "High Five" Classic Kit.  I traced the bottom of a flip flop and cut that out, and cut a small slit and circle where each of the 3 flip flops straps fit into the base of the shoe.  I glued the paper in place with Glossy Accents.

There were 2 paper rosettes in the "Dive In" kit, I decided to use those and create 4 more from various scrap of paper I had left over from the "Dive In" kit.  The strips of paper for the rosettes were 1 1/8" wide, 12" long, and I scored them every 1/4 inch.  On top of each rosette, I layered a 2" scalloped circle punch in white paper, and a 1.5" scalloped circle punch in pink paper.  I backed the Thicker letters to spell out S-U-M-M-E-R with the green paper, fussy cut around each letter, and adhered that to each of the rosettes.

I cut apart the flamingo trim from the "Dive In" kit and placed one on each of the letter rosettes.  Then I pulled some of the ribbon from both the "Dive In" and "High Five" kits and adhered it to the back of each rosette, I left about 2 inches peeking out from each rosette.

After I had everything embellished and ready to go,  I hot glued the paint stir stick to the back of the row of flip flops.  I placed one towards the top and the other towards the bottom of the row.  I used 2 because I wanted it to be fairly sturdy.  I am going to stand my sign up on my mantle, so I didn't put a hanger on it.  But if I had needed to, I could have added a ribbon to the stir stick to hang the sign.  Finally, I used a hot glue gun to adhere the rosettes to the flip flops.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you are having a great SUMMER!!!

{Cool Summer Swimming} with the "Dive In" Classic Kit

Hello friends!  It's Meridy here, and I have a double page layout to share with you today using the "Dive In" Classic Kit.  As the name of this kit suggests, it is perfect to use with swimming photos.  This week the design team will be sharing layouts all about water, swimming, the beach, etc.

I used a few 3x4 photos and one 4x6 photo of my kids swimming last summer on this layout.

I grabbed a few papers that used the same blues, pinks, and yellows in the photographs.  Once I choose the patterned papers, I pulled various coordinating embellishments from the kit.

I really loved the flamingo trim, so I used it as a strip down the left hand side of my layout and cut a few flamingos from it to use as "stand alone" embellishments as well.

I wanted the look of rippling water, so I used some of my old decorative edge scissors to cut a few "waves" from various shades of blue paper.  I stacked those bits across the bottom border of my layout.

Next, it was time for me to add titles, journaling, and embellishments to the layout.  I started with my title "Cool Summer Swimming" and created it with a set of Thickers, a set of alpha stickers, and a chipboard sticker all from this month's kit.  Then I added a few enamel dots, some of the gold rub-ons, a few buttons, and some vellum stickers from the kit.

I added the same types of embellishments to the opposite side of the layout to balance the 2 sides of the layout.   I pulled a couple of extra buttons from my stash for this embellishment cluster.

I added a subtitle of "Making a Splash Jump" on this side of the layout to balance out both sides of the layout a little more.

And that wraps up this layout.  I would love to see what you create with your "Dive In" kits on Instagram #NoelMignon.  Have a great week!!!
