Picnic in the Park Crop Challenge #5

Hey guys! I can't believe we're nearing the end of our Picnic in the Park online crop!! So how's everyone doing on the challenges so far?! Remember, you have until midnight tonight to complete them all. You can see each blog post for the challenge & prize! Here's a recap just in case you missed one:

Challenge #1 - Go Fly A Kite
Challenge #2 - Time To Eat
Challenge #3 - Grass Under Your Toes
Challenge #4 - Music Challenge
Challenge #5 - Wicker Basket (this post)

*** Be sure to upload all of your finished projects in the proper album in the Noel Mignon facebook group in order to be entered in the drawing for the challenge prize! ***

So today's challenge is the wicker basket challenge - weave some papers on your layout just like a basket! And that's exactly what I've done on this layout:
I cut strips of patterned paper that were 3/4" wide. To start weaving I used some repositionable adhesive to hold it together while I began weaving a few of the papers until I got the pattern started. Then I adhered that down with permanent adhesive and continued weaving until my pattern was complete!
I really liked how the weaved papers added some dimension and visual interest to my page!

Be sure to upload your finished challenge project to the Noel Mignon facebook group for a chance to win a prize!!

Picnic in the Park Crop Challenge #4

Hello!

I hope you've been enjoying our crop so far this week and that you've been able to play along a little bit as well. The challenges have been so fun!

There are lots of ways to jazz up a picnic and one of them is definitely music.

For my challenge today I want you to create a layout using either a song title or song lyrics on the page. You can use as much or as little of the song as you'd like.

I chose the song, "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts to go along with this picture of my girls.

Kids grow up way too quickly and I just hope that I can teach mine what they need to know to be successful and happy now and as they get older. These lyrics added just the right sentiment to my page.

To create this layout I used this month's Pure Bliss classic kit. This one is sold out but there is a limited edition kit with a lot of the same contents plus other fun products.

One of my favorite parts of this kit is the cute Thickers!! I've always been quite the hoarder of American Crafts Thickers- foam ones, fabric and chipboard ones, whatever I can get my hands on. I even bought an extra pack of these because they are so incredibly cute ♥

I used a sheet of Pink Paislee Fancy Free (how cute is this collection?!?- I've been waiting for this one since the sneaks last CHA) for the butterflies. The paper has large patterned dots- I used one row and lots of Martha Stewart butterfly punches and added the punched butterflies around my page. I added some glitter glue from the kit to the centers of the butterflies.

It is perhaps hard to see in my pictures but I created journaling lines on the patterned paper background with some white spray mist. On those lines I added lyrics from the Rascal Flatts song- not the entire song but the parts of it that I thought most carried the message I wanted for my page. I added more lyrics to the little note card. I used a piece of pink sparkly Queen and Co tape to the tag and the floral ribbon to the piece of striped paper I cut from another sheet of patterned paper.

I used this cute journaling tag, tucking it under the edge of my photo. I actually cut the tag in half so that I could use the other piece on another project.

One of the focal points of my page which helps to draw your eye to the photo are these vellum leaves from Basic Grey. They were flat in the kit so I added some creases for more dimension. I also added some glitter glue here and there. I used foam adhesive on the back of my photo so that it would stand out above the folded leaves.

Once again, your challenge is to choose a song- either lyrics or a title or both, like I did- and use is on your scrapbook page. You have until the end of Friday to share your projects on our Facebook page to be eligible for lots of fun prizes! Winners will be chosen this coming Saturday.

We can't wait to see what you come up with!

Picnic in the Park Online Crop Challenge Day #2

Happy Tuesday everyone! Welcome to the Noel Mignon "Picnic in the Park" Online Crop. Today is DAY 2 of the crop and my challenge for you is....

TIME TO EAT

scrapbook about food on your layout, or include pictures of food.

Lets start of with a process video of my layout for todays challenge!

And here are some photos of my layout. I chose to use a photo of one of my favourite recipes that my mom passed down to me, and its a family favourite!
For this layout, I used my stash. The minute I saw the milk cap chipboard, I knew that it would be perfect on my "Food" layout!
I added several clusters over the page and include some food words like "yummy" to go with the theme.
Now, lets talk PRIZES... for everyone that finishes this challenge, you will be entered to win this fun alpha sticker prize pack.
Please upload your finished page to our Noel Mignon Members Facebook Page in the "Time to Eat" challenge album.

Also keep in mind that you do not have to use a Noel Mignon Kit to enter, so everyone can play!!!

Check in tomorrow, to see our next challenge and great prize. We will have a new challenge each day this week (Monday - Friday) and all of the winners will be announced on NSD - Saturday May 7 2016.

Picnic in the Park Crop Challenge #1

Hello friends!!!  It's Meridy here, welcome to our "Picnic in the Park" Online Crop.  Today is the first day of the crop and I have your very first challenge ready for you...

I think one of the most fun things to do during a picnic in the park is to fly a kite!!!  Keeping a kite in mind, I decided today's challenge is to use diamond(s), ribbon, and bow(s) on your layout.  Below is my layout for the "Fly a Kite" challenge.  I used the Noel Mignon May 2016 "Pure Bliss" Classic Kit.

May 2016 "Pure Bliss" Classic Kit

I cut a few diamonds from the Basic Grey patterned paper in the kit and used them as a repeating element across the back of my layout.  You can see how the diamonds sometimes fall off the edge of the page.  I feel like this helps your eye move around the design and keeps the layout from looking too confined and cluttered.

As you can see I grounded my photo with the coral ribbon in this month's kit, gathering it as I adhered it.  Instead of using a real bow, I used the bow paperclip that came in the kit!

A couple of other small embellishment clusters on the edges of the photo keep that photograph the focal point of the layout.

Everyone who finishes this challenge will be entered in a drawing for these cute Elle's Studio products.

To recap today's "Fly a Kite" challenge, use diamond(s), ribbon, and bow(s) on your layout.  Please upload your finished page to our Noel Mignon Members Facebook page in the "Fly a Kite" challenge album.  Also, keep in mind you do not have to use a Noel Mignon kit to enter your layout, everyone can play!!!

Check in tomorrow to see our next challenge and great prize.  We will have a challenge each day this week (Monday-Friday) and all of the winners will be announced on National Scrapbook Day--Saturday, May 7, 2016.  Thanks for stopping by!  I can't wait to see what you create!
