Spring Cleaning!

The Spring Fling Crop on our FB page has been so much fun this week- and full of lots of great inspiration! Make sure to stop by (and you still have the weekend to participate in all the wonderful challenges).

Friday's Challenge is - Do a little Spring Cleaning!

I don't know about you, but every month I

save things from my kits that I want

"to use later."

And then I forget about them!

Today's challenge is about digging up those

old treasures and putting them to use.

Use

items from at least THREE old NM kits!

(If you don't have any old NM kits, then three older

items). I can't wait to see yours!

This layout uses items from at least 5 different kits, and probably a few more! :) It feels good to use up some of those things in my stash!

Favorite Layouts of 2011

Hello friends! I've had such a wonderful time since I became a member of the design team here but sadly, this will be my last post and inspiration on the layout blog. I'm so thankful to Noel for the opportunity to create with her beautiful kits each month and I certainly won't be a stranger around the message board. I'm a Noel Mignon kit club fan for life! :)

Towards the end of the year I always reflect back on the work I have created and decided that for my last post here I would share some of my favorite layouts I have created with Noel Mignon kits in 2011.

1) January's "Very Virginia" kit -

2) February's "Truly Scrumptious" kit -

3) March's "Delightfully Domestic" kit -

4) April's "Jump & Jive" kit -

5) May's "Mary Ellen" kit -

6) June's "The Bee's Knees" kit -

7) August's "Salt Water Taffy" kit -

8) September's "Study Hall" kit -

9) October's "Sleepy Hollow" kit -

10) November's "Dear Diary" kit -

I'm still working on my December Memories album with the "Mistletoe & Holly" kit so if you would like to see my pages, please keep an eye on my blog. Thanks so much for your friendship and mutual inspiration this past year!

All the best!

Two-Page Layouts: Happy 1st Birthday

Hello again, friends! Today, I'm wrapping up my blogs series for this month of focusing on two-page layouts. For my layout today, I used the "Delightfully Domestic" kit using photos of the girls' 1st birthday. I did a highlight page using my favorite photos of their birthday party. I added a couple things from my stash to this layout as well. I've been hoarding the KI Memories calendar paper and cut that up to use on both of the pages. I also incorporated a Maya Road chipboard cupcake and a candle sticker by American Crafts. Everything else is from the kit. I have scrapbooked several of these photos individually but I love the idea of creating a two-page layout of their birthday every year to tell a more complete story. And since I have twins, it works perfectly so the girls can each have pages of their birthdays someday.

Here's a look at the cupcake...the rub-on is by Melissa Frances.

And here's the title...I also layered a tag in the kit, a rosette by American Crafts and a Maya Road stick pin.

I hope you enjoyed my blog series this month. It's been a great challenge for me to create these two-page layouts. I'm going to make it a goal to create a two-page layout with each month's kit so these definitely won't be the last two-page layouts you'll be seeing from me.

See you next week! :)

Fabulous Friends

Since I didn't get the Mary Ellen kit I find myself really digging in and using a ton of the past few kits... they are work together so very well! I used mostly Jump and Jive for this but mixed in Delightfully Domestic too... love that about the Noel Mignon kits!! :)

I love how this one really came together very easy... I have had these pictures sitting on my desk it seems forever... I saw the music sheet in the kit and just starting laying stuff out and before I knew it the layout was done... gotta love when that happens!! I snuck in some quick facts about the pictures and called it done... I really like the results too! :)

Jump over to the message board... I have a challenge going on using this layout... hop over there to find out what it is! :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Mixing Up Kits!

My little girl's first word (other than the regular ones like "mama" and "dada" and "eat" and such), was "Shoes!"

The little thing has a big affection for shoes. She loves to wear them all.
I knew I had to use that paper from Delightfully Domestic (the shoe & purse print from Cosmo Cricket), and I mixed it up with papers & embellies from Mary Ellen and Jump & Jive.
I love how well these kits mixed together!

Cultivating a Grateful Heart with a Gratitude Journal

I've got a little app on my iPod touch that has been fun to record the things I'm grateful for each night.... but as much as I love technology (heh good ol' Napoleon Dynamite), sometimes a girl just wants something that is more concrete.

I made this simple book so that I had a more permanent place to keep my grateful thoughts in.
It's really simply made out of paper kraft bags and patterned papers & embellishments from several NoelMignon kits (especially Mary Ellen &Jump and Jive).
I also threw in some papers from a little Jenni Bowlin Studios notebook I've had for a long time.
And masking tape. Of course, masking tape. :)

I hope to fill it up very quickly with gratefulness...

An oops I almost forgot kind of day!

Woooosh! Did you hear that? That's the sound of the day flying by. Which it did today, for sure. Now, I must clarify that the three hour nap I took doesn't count...

Here's a quick snapshot of the scene above our now mirror-less mantle. I got these awesome grape wood wreathie frames from Beverly's and I loooove them! They're the perfect not-too-permanent home dec project.

This is a layout I did using the Mary Ellen and Delightfully Domestic kits. SO much fun!

So what do you do to decorate your house with all your scrappiness?

Happy Friday!
xoxo

Don't forget about the latest challenge!!

Now technically this shouldn't be a "challenge" but for me, it is.
The challenge is just to use stamps on a project.
For most people that is no challenge at all.
But for some reason, I don't ever stamp.
So this "challenge" was good for me then!
{well it was good after i finally found my dang clear block!}
And this stamp from the Jump & Jive kit is pretty cool so I really wanted to use it!

And this is what I made...
I think I used bits and pieces from 3 different Noel Mignon kits.
(let's see, most of the paper & the stamp is from Jump & Jive; chipboard alphas from Very Virginia; buttons from Delightfully Domestic; and little bits & scraps from all 3)
I love how well her kits all mix together!
And you know I don't want to waste a single bit!
OK now, if I can stamp so can you!
So come play along with us!
:)
Happy Monday!

Making Houses

My kids have a special place next to our house they like to play in, that they call "The Jungle."

I love it.

I think it's so cool for kids to have a special place that they feel like is all their own. A secret (to them, at least!) place. I remember many happy hours playing in the woods behind my Grams' house.
I wanted to make sure to scrapbook this place, where they make houses and go "fishing" and find all sorts of treasures, and sometimes even see dragons.

(Layout created with the Jump & Jive kit, plus a little cutie house from the Delightfully Domestic kit.)

Like A Mirror

For our latest challenge, the design team lifted one of our fabulous members. I lifted this beautiful layout by our very own Amy (moonsplash) that uses the "Very Virginia" kit.

Here are my two girls when they were just two months old looking very much alike. I used the Delightfully Domestic kit on this one.

And a couple close-ups....

See you next week!

Hula Hoop

I got my Jump and Jive kit in but I can't seem to put away my Delightfully Domestic kit just yet! I loved this kit and still have so many more layouts I can do with it! eeeekk... I know me.. if I put it away the kits keep coming and I won't do all the layouts I had intended with the said kit.... hahah! anyone else do that?

Here is another layout I did with the Delightfully Domestic kit.... Our challenge this week was to lift a board member and I chose my MOM Debbie Standard (dstandard).... here is her awesome page...
and then here is my lift... with a few close ups.. using the Delightfully Domestic kit!

The little tag pulls out for journaling...

I don't generally lift well, I like to pick out elements that I like on a page and go from there. In this case it's the grouping of the three photos and the little collage up in the left hand corner....
Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to join us for our new challenge!!
