Happy Fall | Falloween Classic Kit

Hello there! It's Laura here today sharing a layout with you! This week the DT members are challenged with a "3-1" theme. You know "31", as in the date of Halloween but we using the number as a jumping off point, to create with 3 of one type of item and 1 of another on our projects.

As you can see I am using 3 flowers and 1 photo on my layout. I started my page by die cutting pumpkins in a grid pattern from this fab wood-grained paper.  Then I layered strips cut in a variety of widths from patterned papers behind it.  Once that was done I added the stitching.

After layering my photo onto the page, it felt very busy and the patterns seemed to be competing with my picture, so I muted the colours of the patterns by rubbing a bit of white gesso over them.  The verdict is still out on whether I like it more now, but I don't dislike it so I am calling it a win!

I pulled in some fun Echo Park chipboard to create my title, I am so loving these warm colours!

I love these felt flowers from the kit, and created them so they would be slightly open so that I could nestle these wood buttons into them.  You could however roll them tightly as well.

As a final step I sprinkled on some brown Mr. Huey's mist from my stash.

I am trying to create a process video for each of my Noel Mignon DT assignments, you can watch the video for this layout below or here on my You-Tube channel!

Supply List:  Carta Bella patterned papers "haunted words" and "falling leaves"; Bella Blvd patterned paper " pumpkin day"; Pebbles patterned papers " fall flowers" and "apple cider"; Echo Park patterned papers "thankful owls";   Echo Park Fall is in the Air chipboard and washi; American Crafts cardstock, leaf doily, Halloween wood buttons and flair; May Arts ribbon; Pebbles wood accents; Queen & Co. felt flowers; Bella blvd clip. (from my stash: DMC floss, Sargent white gesso; misc buttons; Hemptique twine; brown Mr. Huey's).

Thanks so much for visiting today, be sure to stop back daily for loads of DT inspiration!

Spooky Halloween | Falloween Classic Kit

Happy Saturday! Laura here with you today sharing a new page using the October Falloween kit!  As you probably know, this week the DT members are adding interactive elements to our pages and I enjoyed creating my layout with a fun movable part!

I really wanted to use the sweet Lawn Fawn "Trick or Treat" stamp set on my layout and decided to stamp a tone on tone design using the bat stamp and the Tim Holtz orange distress ink from the kit. I love the way it turned out, it is subtle but interesting all at the same time.  And so super easy to do, too!

I created a print and cut ghost in my Silhouette Studio software and after cutting a few out I layered them together for my interactive element, which is a fun spinner design. As you tip and tilt the layout, he spins in circles and moves up and down!

I love this tissue-y spider web from the kit, it is a perfect layering element. The ribbon is super pretty, too!

I used a combination of glittery Heidi Swapp alpha stickers and a Pretty Little Studio cut apart phrase for my title.  I also added some black enamel dots from my stash, to make the "o's" in the title look like eyes! I thought the puffy bat, resembled a uni-brow! Ha!

There are so many cute Halloween elements in this kit, I had a hard time showing any restraint and not loading up my page, as you can see!

I have created another process video for this layout, you can check it out below or here on my You-Tube channel!

Supply List:  Bella Blvd Pumpkin Day patterned paper, clips and die cuts from the Spooktacular collection;  Pebbles patterned paper - moonlight, jackolantern from the Trick or Treat collection;  Echo Park "Fall is in the Air" chipboard; American Crafts Halloween spider web doily, wood shapes and puffy stickers; American Crafts cardstock;  Heidi Swapp glitter alphas; May Arts ribbon; Tim Holtz distress ink; Lawn Fawn "Trick or Treat" stamp set; Pretty Little Studio October phrase strips. (from my stash: DMC floss, Mr. Huey's black and white mist, Teresa Collins enamel dots)

Thanks so much for visiting, see you next week!

Halloween After Party | Falloween Classic Kit

Happy Saturday friends, Laura here today sharing a new page using the awesome Falloween Classic Kit!!  This week the DT is embracing another challenge given to us by our DT coordinator, Meridy, which is to "scraplift" a fellow DT member or one of our Facebook Group Members.  I chose to do the latter, and this is the layout that I created.

I poked around the albums and photos in our Members Facebook group just loving the inspiration!  It took me a little while to narrow it down but finally decided on this page by Julie Evers.

I stayed pretty true to the inspiration layout, with the exception of pushing my main focal area over to the right, just so slightly.

Here are a few close up of my design elements.

I am loving the embellishments in the Noel Mignon Falloween kit, the puffy stickers and wood buttons from American Crafts are so cute!

And let's not forget the sweet painted wood elements!

Darling die cuts and fun patterns papers from Bella Blvd.

And spooky clips and flair too!

I have created another process video for this layout, you can check it out below or here on my You-Tube channel!

Supply List:  Bella Blvd patterned paper - Pumpkin Day and Casper from the Spooktacular collection;  Pebbles patterned paper - moonlight, jackolantern and hocus pocus from the Trick or Treat collection; Bella Blvd ephemera and clips; Echo Park chipboard and washi; American Crafts wood buttons, wood shapes, flair and puffy stickers; Heidi Swapp glitter alphas. (from my stash: Hemptique twine, Mr. Huey's black mist,  Sharpie pen)

Thanks so much for visiting and be sure to check back next week when we have a whole new DT challenge for you!

Fall is in the Air | Falloweeen Classic Kit

Happy Saturday!  Laura here with you today, I am sure that you have probably picked up on it by now, Saturday's are my days to share here!  I am so excited to be playing with a new kit, the October "Falloween" Kit is so full of goodness! If you missed it you can check out my unboxing video here on my You-Tube channel. The DT is embracing another challenge given to us by our DT coordinator, Meridy.  This week she has challenged us with a "Pumpkin Pie Challenge", so basically we can use the colour orange or a triangle / wedge shape.  You can see from my page, I jumped right in and used both!

I used the knife tool in my Silhouette Studio software to cut up a circle into pie shaped wedges to create the focal area behind my photos, then I cut each one out of a different patterned paper from the kit!

After that I added in some stitching down the centre of each wedge, except the plaid one, and then layered my photos onto a eighth patterned paper and tucked a leaf shaped doily behind it.

As you can see, I used lots of different oranges on this page!

The rustic twill ribbon in this kit is just so pretty and perfect, I used it to add some texture to my page by creating little layered loops with it.

The stitching in the ribbon is what inspired the stitching on this layout.

I hand cut a couple of leaves to layer behind this sweet wooded acorn element.

I love these little cut apart phrases from Pretty Little Studios, I chose three that suited my photos and added little fish tails to one side before adhering them to my page.

I couldn't resist stitching "wind movement" onto my page for these cute chipboard leaves.  I knew that I wanted to do this for these leaves right away but couldn't decide what to do with a second set of leaves.

A few simple accents on the top left of my photos, adds some lovely pop.

I finished my layout by trimming down the background cardstock to 10 3/4" (ish) and added some more plaid patterned paper beneath it.  After adding more stitching, I embellished it with the other two chipboard leaves, a chipboard phrase and an epoxy button.

I have created another process video for this layout, you can check it out below or here on my You-Tube channel!

Supply List:  American Crafts cardstock and leaf doily; Pebbles patterned paper and wood elements; Bella Blvd patterned paper and ephemera; Echo Park patterned paper, chipboard and enamel dots; Pretty Little Studios cut apart phrases; May Arts ribbon; Twinery bakers twine (from the August Kit);  American Crafts vellum (from my stash) and brown Mr. Huey's (from my stash).

Thanks so much for visiting!  Be sure to check back daily to see what the rest of the team is creating.
