Another take on the Creative Scrappers sketch

Hi again!

As you know, we are teaming up with Creative Scrappers this month and would love for you to play along with us. The sketch for this week is this one:

Here is the layout that I created using June's "Balboa" kit:

I thought this sketch was a great way to show off the fun papers and embellishments in this kit.

Here are a couple of close-up shots:

I used some of the little speech bubbles and word tags and lots of Queen and Company dots to add more color to my layout. I cut one of the frames from patterned paper and put my squares on a slant instead of having them go straight across my page.

We'd love it if you could play along with us!

There will be other sketches revealed throughout the month and you can add your layouts by going over to the Creative Scrappers site. We always like to see your work on our Facebook page, too.

Have a great day!

Creative Scrappers Sketch

Hi friends! We're teaming up with Creative Scrappers this month so I thought I'd use some of their sketches for my layouts.  I loved this first sketch and decided it would work perfectly with the fun colors in the Balboa kit.

I decided to replace the small photographs with one big picture and then shrink down the squares on the right hand side.

I also loved using the glitter glue and enamel dots in the Balboa kit to add some extra dimension to the polka dot squares!  I have so much fun trying out new techniques with supplies included in Noel's kits :)

That's all for today folks- head on over to Creative Scrappers to play along!

You Make Me Happy

Hello friends and happy Tuesday!! This month Noel Mignon is the sponsor over at Creative Scrappers! My layout for you today uses the "Balboa" kit and is based off of the fun sketch that went up on the Creative Scrappers blog Sunday!

I love using sketches as a starting off point, most often, I will alter them to fit my style and photos. This sketch was no exception! First off, I am going to share the sketch with you.

A very fun sketch, but the part that stood out the most to me was the bottom portion, its very rare for me to use a big block for my title. The adorable Pink Paislee paper included in the "Balboa" kit, was the perfect fit for this layout! I loved it from the first, but knew that I would never use it as a full background. By cutting it apart, and following along with this sketch, I was able to use it in a way that fit my style!

Now, on the top portion, I really liked the grid style, but it just wasn't fitting for the look I had in mind with this layout, so I went my own way with it. Don't be afraid to break the sketches up, and just use bits and pieces that fit the look you are hoping to achieve. Sketches are great starting points to inspire, but that is the point of a sketch to INSPIRE! Whether you keep it straight on with the sketch, or go your own way!
Here are a few close ups for you!

I hope you take the time to play along with Creative Scrappers this month, and try for your chance at a fabulous prize from Noel Mignon!! :)

Carousel card trio

Hi there friends! I'm up today sharing a trio of cards that I've made with the scraps of my Carousel kit. I love doing this at the end because it's a quick fun way to make the most of my kit and spread my crafty love with my friends. Yes, I give my cards away.  A lot of times I have someone in mind when I'm making it.

Here's the trio all together. I always hear Tim Gunn from Project Runway in my head when talking about the final collection--let it be cohesive but each piece must stand on it's own. SO that's what I've tried to do here. The elements I was using to tie them together were an oversized embellishment, pink, and geometric shapes.  So without further ado, here is my card set.

"Celebrate"

"Dream Big"

"Hello Little Lady"

That's all from me today! I hope you guys have a great weekend!

#timeflies

Good morning!

I used to hear people say that time flies so quickly and the older I get the more I realize how true that is.

Here is a layout that I made using the Carousel kit with my now- 3 year old youngest daughter.

I started out my page using some hearts I cut on my Silhouette Cameo and a mix of Heidi Swapp Color Shine mists. I backed those with a variety of papers from the Carousel kit. The little striped journaling card was cut from the 12x12 sheet.I also added some Chickaniddy pennant strips and some gold glitter hearts cut from some scraps in my stash.

I left one of the hearts open for a journaling spot and added lots of the cute enamel hearts from Chickaniddy along with the blue glitter American Crafts alphas. ♥ them!

I liked the idea of using #timeflies as part of the title because of the whole social media trendy thing going right now. Plus, I liked the extra touch of glitter!

This is my last project using the Carousel kit for this month and soon you'll be seeing lots of projects using the brand new Balboa kit so stay tuned!

Have a great day!!

Hello Baby Goats!

Good morning friends! Cassie here today to share a layout I made with the newest, awesome Noel Mignon kit- Balboa.  I LOVE this kit- just LOVE it! The bright colors, the chalkboard, the wood veneers, the whole thing is amazing.

I was having a hard time scrapping this photos of my son petting baby goats from a few years back because the black in the photos made it difficult to find coordinating supplies.  Balboa was a perfect way to match the black in the photographs while adding some fun pops of color.

Make sure to pick up the Balboa kit - it's great for those hard to match photos!  Have a great day!

Smile

Hello friends!! I have a fun little layered card to share with you today! I always have so many fun bits and pieces left over from my kits, so I challenged myself to put some of those goodies to use on this fun card.

Layering the rub on under the photo overlay added fun dimension, then I decided to build up from the camera center. This cute flair badge added in some needed color, pins and clips added in even more texture and dimension. Cutting apart one of the chevron rub ons from the Maggie Holmes collection, I was able to make some small photo corners, and add in more of the gorgeous gold accent. Layered a few of the banner stickers, and I was left with a fun, colorful, dimensional, card for any occasion!
