My favorite...aqua and red and a challenge layout

Good Morning Peeps!

Happy Monday to all....hopefully you've had your morning coffee and are bright-eyed and bushy tailed ready to take on the day!.....haha...yeah, right!...I know, I am still working on that...not quite there yet, either.... :)

More layouts to share this morning. Again, I have to repeat and say say how much fun this kit was to work with. So many different looks, so many options. I've been holding off on scrapping this photo for a while, and the colors in the kit....my favorite, aqua and red seemed to be the perfect inspiration to make this work.

This layout titled..."Me Time" reflects on a trip I took to teach classes in at Scrapbook Vacation Clubs in Daytona Beach, Florida. I had *always* dreamed of going on a vacation by myself, flying first class, sipping champagne and having a private car drive me to my destination. Yes, I realize this was a wee-selfish, okay, maybe a lot selfish, but I knew that I would never have this chance again once we had our family. Oh, my....this trip was a blast, though once there for a few days I honestly wished I had Steve there to share it with. Yes, I sipped on Champagne in First Class, was *suppose* to be picked up by a private town car, but they brought a limo instead...lol----honestly....I was embarrassed about that! I enjoyed days next to the pool after my classes drinking tea and mojitos reading through almost 2 books. Teaching was a ball and the crop there after was even MORE fun. I feel like I really did get that wish out of my system...though admittedly selfish. Shame on me ;)

The next layout is my challenge layout for the Challenge Blog (click on this to get there!) I was given the fun opportunity of creating the challenge for this round. After much thought and with all of the eco friendly and going green talk I thought....why don't we re-use some of the adorable packaging that comes with our scrapbooking products. Think about the adorable polka dotted Prima packaging, the Making Memories packaging. Use the plastic sleeves as a transparency and stamp using Staz-on ink and make it custom to your liking. The options are endless.

For my layout titled: "Man's Best Friend" I used the backing from a package of Making Memories red felt alphas (as seen in title) for a layer in my design. I loved the light green background and soft white polka dots. Plus it was a good way to add another color to my design, as I was (again) reaching for red and aqua...hey! I just love this combination...so fresh and a bit on the retro side :) The cute guys in this page are my husband and my parents dog Baily. Steve and I were the one who talked my parents into getting this dog. We were driving through the parking lot of Walmart about 8 years ago when we saw the most adorable puppy being held by a women....his paws were wrapped around her neck tightly hugging her. We had just lost our long time family dog, Lucy and I knew this pup would be the perfect fit to mend my families broken heart. Steve and I were not going to let Mom and Dad leave that sweet boy behind. He has been such a fun and lovable addition to our family......and as you can see...he still gives hugs :)

Wishing everyone a wonderful week ahead! I hope you find some time for yourselves to create or just relax!

XOXO---Tessa Ann
