Project Life Cards from Sketches

Hey guys! This week we've had fun playing with sketches, and I decided that I'd like to make my own pocket cards using some sketches as inspiration! Below is my inspiration piece (and the link I found it on):

Using the awesome Dive In Daily Diary kit, these are the cards I came up with!

If you haven't picked up this kit, you should grab it. It's my favorite summer kit I've used! I love the retro vibe and the West Coast summer feel. :)

Another sketch layout with the Dive In Daily Diary kit

Hello again!

I hope that you are enjoying the sketch layouts shared so far this week and that perhaps you have found some inspiration to create!

I did a Google search for sketches and found some great ones and decided on this one from Shimelle.com.  It is an older sketch but the great thing about sketches is that they can be pretty timeless. I really liked this one and the challenge that it presented for me to do a more simple page design.

This sketch design calls for a large photo on the lefthand side of the page. I opted to fill that space with patterned paper instead, and used a bit larger photo than the sample. One thing to remember about sketches is that you don't have to follow them exactly. Use them as a jumping off point to inspire your project. You can use them as-is, rotate them, change elements around to suit your preferences.

I kept the title and journaling block on the right side of the page as in the sketch and instead of stars did some handcut hearts that I added to my page. Because I am down to the end of my Dive in Daily Diary kit, I made good use of the scraps I had left.

The "love you" is cut from one of the 4"x6" cards in the kit.

Because I am on a bit of a gold kick lately I added some gold glitter washi from my personal supply as well as some of the striped washi from the kit.

I finished off my page with this cute flair and handwritten journaling on a 2"x3" card.

Dive In Daily Diary- Beach Trip Mini Album

Good morning! I finally was able to have all my technology cooperate so I could share with you all this mini album I made with the adorable and beachy Dive In Daily Diary kit! I also supplemented this with a pack of extra paper I purchased in the shop, and I'm so glad I did... it all came together so wonderfully!

My idea for this album was so that it was a small enough size so I could slip it into my pocket album for the year... check out the video at the bottom of the post to see how I did that, and a whole flip through of the album!

Hello, everyone!

How are you enjoying your summer so far?

What are you doing to stay cool?

It's Becky here with you today to share another project made with the Dive In Daily Diary kit.  There are still a few of this kit as well as the Classic kit and you can find that cuteness in the Noel Mignon store.

For my layout this week I started with a sheet of white cardstock cut down and mounted on this cute striped sheet of patterned paper. I misted the cardstock with a mix of blues and greens and added little bits of pink and some orange in there as well. There are lots of mist colors available in the shop

I used a Silhouette file for the big sun and #loveyou diecuts and used bits of patterned paper to fill in some of the spaces. From there I added my photo and cut down a journaling card that I tucked under the picture.

These little pennant stickers are so cute! I added some foam adhesive to the backs and strung a piece of twine from a previous kit across the top and tied it at the ends.

To finish off the page I added the black and white tape (also from a previous kit), a brad and the cute little pink alphas to go with my journaling.

Come back tomorrow for more inspiration from the design team.

So Much Fun with the Dive In Daily Diary Kit

Hi all!  Nicole here on the blog today to share a layout I put together using the Dive In Daily Diary kit and the Dive In Paper Pack.  As I was trying to find more of our photos from last summer I remembered photos that my sister took with her cell phone while we were at our local aquatic center.  The photos aren't great in quality, but it was a fun day I wanted to remember.
I printed the photos small so they wouldn't be grainy and used elements from the daily diary kit to frame them.

I then decided to cut down the teal pattern paper and mount it on the color blocked pattern paper from the paper pack.  I cut down a few pattern papers and tucked them behind the main photo block and added the letter stickers.

I fussy cut a few flowers from pattern paper from My Mind's Eye Palm Beach pattern paper.  I placed these on the bottom right corner, one next to the letter stickers, and then placed another piece on the very top of my layout to tie it all together.

As a few finishing embellishments I added the brads as well as the sticker on the bottom of my title.  I cut the "So happy together"  in half and added "together" to the bottom of my title block.
Just a reminder to make the products work for you even if that means cutting stickers apart.

I just love the colors in this kit!  They are so easy to pair with all of the bright summer pictures.  Thanks for stopping by the blog today.  Happy Scrapping!

turning into a fish

We are focusing on water fun in our projects this week and I have one for you!

We started our youngest in swim lessons this summer for the first time. She's gone to 5 lessons now and while she started out as a very nervous little girl who didn't want to put her face in the water and is now becoming a pretty good little swimmer.

I decided to print out my pictures in a block collage and to just leave them on one sheet to put on my page.

I had some little cardstock diecuts so I sprayed those with mist to add to my page. I added the little flipflop layered sticker to the center of the sunshine.

I layered some bits of patterned paper and then added my photo block along with a journaling spot, some washi and more layered stickers.

I topped off the page with some gold-dipped chipboard alphas from a previous kit.

Have a wonderful day!

Summer Relaxing with the Dive In Daily Diary Kit

Hey all!  Nicole on the blog today with a new project using the Dive In Daily Diary kit.  This week the theme for the design team is water/swimming.  This photo of my little guy in the backyard came to mind.  He got this kiddie pool last summer and I happened to glance outside when it got a little quiet and found him with his feet up and his head propped up on a ball. It made me laugh and I snapped this photo with my cell phone.

I started by cutting the word summer from the background cardstock from the Dive In Papers.  After the letters were cut out I added a few ink splatters with a watered down mist so the paint was really light.   I then backed each letter with some of the 6x6 papers and 3x4 cards from the kit.

I added a few of the 3x4 cards under the journaling block/picture and added a small piece to the other side of the layout to balance it out.

I finished my title with another Silhouette cut and placed it along the bottom of my layout.  Placing a brad (from my stash) for the dot on the I.

I finished the page off with a few embellishments:  brads, flair, and stickers.  Overall it is a rather simple page, but I love that I could incorporate so many of the patterns from the cards into the title.

I have the cut files available for download on my blog - nstark.typepad.com if you are interested.
Thanks for stopping by the blog today.  I hope you are enjoying your summer, happy scrapping!

Dive In to ... Beach Time!

Y'all- this Dive In Daily Diary kit is EVERYTHING you wish for in a summer kit! It's got palm trees, flamingos, pineapples, bathing suits, coconut drinks... oh man. It makes me want to go back to the beach right now!

I like to create these simple one page layouts to break up the design in my pocket page album. It feels more like a traditional layout, but in miniature size. It's really fun to play with proportion on these pages too, as with fussy cutting some of these extra papers I picked up  from the shop to coordinate with the kit.

Oh I almost forgot! Through Monday, you can get TWENTY percent off of this cute kit! Dude, there are only four left, so go get it for yourself! (Just enter DD20 at checkout!)

flamingo love

Good morning!

How is your week going so far?

Are you loving the new Dive In kit projects?

My project this week focuses on the cute little pink birdie in the kits this month.

That's right- the flamingo!

The timing of this kit couldn't be better since I had taken my kids to the zoo the week before the kit's arrival and had some fun flamingo pictures to use.

It's a pretty basic layout with lots of PINK!

I used three different shades of Heidi Swapp mist on the white cardstock background and then added a sheet of 6x6 paper to the background. The pink and white polka dotted paper is packaging from one of the cute embellishments in the kit.

I am getting lots of mileage out of the white vinyl Thickers from last month's kit, only this time I used a pink marker on them to go with my pink flamingo theme.

I added two of the cute flamingo icons and used a blue marker on the wooden arrow tag, then added some of the cute pink alpha stickers. I used some of the cute flamingo ribbon and washi tape and finished off the page with a few little brads along the side of the journaling spot.

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by Noel Mignon!

Roy Days with the Dive In Daily Dairy Kit

Hello all!  Nicole here on this very summer day.  I'm bracing for the over 90 day we are suppose to be having.  I think we might need to take a trip to the local aquatic center very soon so I can survive the heat.

The end of summer every year for my family is the celebrating of Roy Days.  It's basically a party that lasts the weekend with a parade, carnival, and firework display.  I found photos from four years ago and realized I had never printed or documented our evening at the carnival.  This particular year we took my nieces around with us as my sister was helping in my step mom's face painting booth.

I took a couple of the 3x4 cards and placed them among my photos for pops of color.  I also grabbed the green cardstock and piece of pattern paper from the Dive In Paper pack - a great way to stretch the Daily Diary kit for 12x12 layouts.

My title was made using a 4x6 card from Pretty Little Studio.  I cut the rays apart and spread them out before placing on my the background cardstock.  I decided to add a touch of hand sewing in orange embroidery floss.  The title was cut with my Silhouette and the wood grain pattern paper from the 6x6 papers.

I then finished off with die cuts, tags, and brads from My Mind's Eye.

The kit is perfect for recording tropical vacations, vacations, or a local town celebration.  How are you using your kit?  We would love to see.  Be sure to share your creations over on the Noel Mignon Facebook Member page.

Happy Scrapping!

Happy June!

Hello again!

Welcome to June and to another new kit.

My project today features the brand new Dive In Daily Diary kit. There are 4 left of this and the Classic kit so head on over to the Noel Mignon store to get yours today.

I used a couple of 4x6 cards and a strip of patterned paper to set up the background of my page. From there I added the strips of tape. The gold is from my personal supply because I have this thing for gold lately. ♥

I wanted a big title to go with my layout so I pulled the white alphas from last month's kit and used a blue marker to change the color.

I love the cute pineapples, flamingoes and other tropical and summery icons. I cut this larger pineapple from one of the 2x3 cards. The "so happy together" is from the Echo Park layered sticker sheet with a heart sticker added and I also used a little piece of flair and a cardstock flower with a brad added to the center.

I finished off the page with some handwritten journaling and some of the cute pink alpha stickers.

Have a wonderful day!
