This Makes Me Smile

Have you checked out the new "Merry & Bright" challenge yet? I love anything that gets me using sparkle, shine, and bling- and the "Dear Santa" kit has plenty of it!
I added clear Stickles to the title to make it glitter...
A bit of Shimmerz spray on everything, plus Stickles, and sticker rhinestones makes everything sparkle!
Make sure to come check out the "Wrapping Room" today, along with the rest of Santa's Workshop, to find fun ideas for all your holiday needs!

Glittering Sight

My very favorite decorations to put up each year are our Christmas trees. We have a "fancy" one that goes on our main floor and then our "sentimental" tree is in the basement.Several years ago, as our Christmas present to one another, my husband and I decided to invest in decorations for our tree. I'm so glad we did! I love the magical feeling this tree brings to our home every holiday season.

Page created with Noel Mignon DEAR SANTA kit. The buttons and glittery, floral sprigs are from my stash.

Scalloped accent tag is misted with the Shimmerz Spritz included in the kit for a bit of shimmer! :)

Our tree in the basement (where we open gifts from Santa) is filled with the ornaments we've collected and made together as a family over the years. As I was decorating that tree, I realized that my very favorite ornaments are the ones that show my children growing each year . . . you know, the ones that include a picture of them, a handprint, their writing, etc.

Keeping this in mind, I thought it would be fun to make ornaments this year with my children's handprints on them. I had them "stamp" their hand onto red cardstock using white paint. Next, I traced a mitten shape around their handprint and cut them out. I traced this shape onto chipboard, cut it out and then decorated the other side with patterned paper. I added their name, the year, and how old they are . . . I'm thinking I will add a photo of them opening their presents this year on the backside. :)

Ornaments created with the Noel Mignon DEAR SANTA kit, except for the Zva Creative Pearl Snowflake from my stash.

These should be fun to look back on several years from now and see how much they have grown. I hope you enjoyed this idea!

Happy Tree Trimming!

Dear Santa Cards!

Have you been to the message board this week? If you haven't, you definitely need to go and have a look! The DT gals have been posting oodles of great holiday ideas in the Santa's Workshop Forum! My post today is about cards. Fast cards. I love a long 4 hour card as much as the next gal...... but sometimes we are in a hurry and have plenty of other holiday obligations! So here are two cards using the preprinted images from the Dear Santa kit.

This card is quick to whip up...... I just added a few special touches.....

.......like a glittery felt snowflake, a jingle bell, and some rhinestones.

For the life of me......cuz I am having a total brain fart, I can't remember who makes this sweet vintage image.....so if you know, please enlighten me! : ) I added my special touches once again....

......with a green, glittery snowflake......and a bit of stitching along the bottom of the image.

It's all in the details! : ) Have a Fabulous Friday!

Change...

This was a layout that I had wanted to do for awhile and the "New Moon" challenge that we were issued was the perfect chance to do it!
This layout is about my move to where I am now in Texas and just how I feel about it... (I know I have a mispelling in the journaling... I was just to lazy to change it.. I will eventually... I think :)

Making a list... checking it twice...

I can't tell if I'm coming or going most of the time, and at Christmas time, it's even crazier! I absolutely have to have a notebook, planner, and list with me at all times to make sure I keep all my ducks in a row!

I made a little Christmas planner, by binding together the December pages out of my 2009 planner, some tabbed notepaper, and a "month at a glance" calendar.

I printed off a page from "Organized Christmas" for my main calendar, and to add some color, adhered it to a piece of patterned paper from the Dear Santa kit.
I also added some clear Stickles to the green American Crafts thickers in the kit- it made them match perfectly to the little glittery chipboard tree! I added some of these new October Afternoon letter stickers to the cover. I LOOOOOVE them! I also made myself a little notepad to tuck into my purse for all my shopping lists. I used a notepad & template from PaperTrey Ink, and then prettied it up with the beautiful Dear Santa kit!

Finally, make sure to come over to check out "Santa's Workshop" on the message boards! We already have a ton going on there, and it's only December 2nd! Today I posted this little card in our Mail Room....
