My College Kids

Good Monday morning, friends!

Did this weekend fly by or WHAT! I blinked and ::poof:: it's Monday.

Today I'm stopping by to share another layout I made using
October's Student Council kit. I really hate to say that this kit has already sold out,
but it's just your luck that there's a limited edition one right here:  Student Council Limited

Here's  -  My College Kids:

I love the versatality of this kit. It's perfect for any school age.
Preschool, Elementary - heck, even college!

These are just a couple of shots of my kids from the summer before they both headed
back to their colleges.  I just can't even believe they're both college kids!

I had alot of fun putting all the final details on this project.

The twine that comes in the kit are some of my FAVORITE colors to scrap with
right now. I just love that touch of gray.  I also love the oh so CUTE Lawn Fawn
school stickers. How CUTE are those apples??

I can't get ENOUGH of the Heidi Swapp Mint Green mist that Noel includes in the kit.
It's so shiny & sparkly! Perfect for just a touch of color where you want it.

Thanks for letting me share with you today!
I hope your day is wonderful!
Have a great creative week,
~Leslie

First Day of School

I finally got a chance to pull out the wonderful Student Council kit and got the first day of school pictures of my two bigs that I've been saving to use with it!

(The Student Council kit is sold out, BUT there is a Student Council Limited Edition up for grabs!)

This was the first time I've gotten to use the MME acrylic dots, and boy do I love them! I really like how they fit right in with a splattering of mist and big brads!

Also, a small tip for other "literal" scrappers like myself... for some reason, I have a hard time using things like speech bubbles if it's not coming out of someone's mouth (hence why I call myself a "literal" scrapper), so I just snipped off the tip of the "school days" wooden speech bubble and used it as a regular ol' embellishment. Perfect! (I also have a hard time using animals like deer on my pages unless it has some connection to the theme of my layout. Weird much? Yes.)

And now you know another little peek inside of my crazy brain. Please still be my friend. ;) heheh

My Wheels Are Spinning!

Happy Thursday gals (and guys?)!!!

I hope you're week is a lovely one.  I for one think it's running a lil too slow for my taste, but only one more day to go till the weekend!

One thing that has been helping with the long week is playing with the October Student Council Kit and my newest addiction....SPINNING!!!

So I thought that I would make a lo combining the two especially since I really would like to document this new journey to a healthier lifestyle.

I had soooo much FUN creating this lo for quite a few reasons:

1.  It always helps when you're scrapping an event/topic/picture that you feel really strongly about.
2.  The Heidi Swapp Glimmer Mists will knock.your.socks.off
3.  Even though your Silhouette blade is dull, you can still manage to get something that resembles a bike wheel...lol
4.  The different embellies in this kit are SO much fun to play with!

Now unfortunately, this kit is sold out, buuuuuuttttt.....Noel has put together a Student Council Limited Edition Kit which is equally as fabulous so get it while you can!!

Hello everyone!!  Happy Wednesday :)  I'm here to share another layout I created with the AWESOME Student Council kit!!!  Here's my little guy when we were at his school carnival the other day - he was so excited to be there :)

Photobucket

I LOVED that Studio Calico Yearbook patterned paper below - so fun!!!  I added those cute enamel dots found in the kit to the centers of the circular shapes.   Love how they really add some "pop" to the paper!!!

Photobucket

The "You Are" tab was from one of the Pink Paislee patterned papers.  It worked out perfectly to aid in my title work :)  I also took advantage of the "layered" Heidi Swapp patterned paper.  You may notice the strip of graph paper with a faux washi tape strip towards the bottom of the page.  The strip of paper was an easy way to add some more visual interest to the page with no bulk :)

Thanks for stopping by!!

My Tongue Wagging Boy

The October Student Council kit is fabulous. I hope you were able to get your hands on one before it sold out. I used it to showcase this old photo of my son back in his tongue wagging days! :) This was the face he made when he was concentrating really hard!
I really love the mix of muted and bright colored papers and embellishments in the kit...it all coordinates so well together.

The Heidi Swapp Color Shine Mist that is included in the kit is gorgeous! If you missed my post last week full of tips and tricks for using mist you can read all about it, right here!

Here are a couple close-ups:

Have fun digging into your kit! I look forward to seeing your layouts!

*Go Getter*

Happy Monday Morning, everyone!

Have you gotten your hands on the October Student Council kit? I sure hope so, it looks
like it's already sold out! WOW!
It's such a fantastic kit!
What I love about it is it can work for anyone from kindergarten all the way to college & beyond.

I got mine out this weekend and dove right in:

Go Getter:

I used my son's SR. photo taken by a great photographer friend of mine (Andie Smith)
This kit really captured the colors from his photo well!
AND that Heidi Swapp mist....yum.

I plan to use some college shots for my next few projects.

Details:

Hope you get to dive in and play with your kit this week!
Thanks for letting me share my little bit of inspiration with you today.

Make it a GREAT week!
