Sketch Time!!!

Hello everyone!!!  The middle of the month is almost upon us & that means a new sketch!!!  Here is what I came up with for September . . . 

And here is the layout I created using the gorgeous September Evening Stroll kit . . .

I always enjoy using different fonts within my titles & this kit offers such a fun mix of alpha stickers and chipboard words :)  I used my washi tape again this week to create an oversized photo corner of sorts for both sides of the layout.  Love the way they seem to draw your eye towards the photo.

Teddy Bear

Hi everyone! I hope your week got off to a great start yesterday. I dug into the Evening Stroll kit over the weekend for my second layout kit. Last week I shared my layout "Baby Doll" that featured a photo of my mom holding her doll when she was little so I thought it would be fun to follow that up this week with a photo of my dad from his childhood holding his stuffed teddy bear.

To add some visual interest and contrast to the repeating pattern in the yellow Studio Calico paper, I cut out some of the centers of the paper and backed it with coordinating papers.

For some dimension I placed the blue Queen & Co. goosebumps in the center of the flowers and then popped up some of the yellow cut outs.

I trimmed my patterned paper with a strip of blue paper and scalloped tissue paper.

For my title, I used various embellishments and stickers along with the Prima label stamp and ink. The journaling is included on the "noted" die-cut and tucked under the photo.

All supplies for this layout are from the Evening Stroll kit except for the blue mist, which is from the Boardwalk kit. I hope you are enjoying the super versatile Evening Stroll kit as much as I am. Make sure to share your layouts with us on the message board.

Good Monday morning!

Did you have a good weekend? I sure hope so!
I know I did! It was nice & relaxing.

Today I'm sharing a layout I created of my SWEET boy & that
fabulous smile of his. I'm a bit biased, of course.
But not only am I sharing that - but also a technique using the fun hexagon
(chicken wire) mask that Noel put in the September "Evening Stroll" kit:

 

I placed the hexagon mask (which is by Studio Calico) on the left side of my cardstock

& lightly sprayed using some Studio Calico mist (Clay) I had on my desk.

Next I took the top off my mist & let some dribbles fall on my paper.
I took the mask and placed it down on the right, which left the negative image of what's on the left side.

 

I took a black pen & outlined a few of the hexagons on the left - then took the mask &

traced the hexagon shapes on the right.

 

then I built my layout surrounding it.

this was so much fun to do. With the beautiful kits Noel puts together - my

projects come together SO FAST! I'm serious. this took me maybe a little over an hour to do.

Little Girl

I'm loving the Evening Stroll kit (I know... I sound like a broken record...Good grief, that phrase is so going to have no meaning soon, isn't it?!), but I really, really do! Blues and greens are my go to colors for everything- scrapbooking, home decor, and clothing, so this kit is right up my alley! 

I think that honeycomb mask in the kit is so awesome, but instead of using it wit my mists or inks, I wanted to just trace around it for a fun twist. I used the light brown marker that came in last month's kit so it wouldn't be so bold on the page... and I loved the affect. 

I also busted out that great label stamp in the kit to add a strip of pretty frames along the bottom of the photos. That is a GREAT stamp! 

I hope you're having fun trying out new things and experimenting with your layouts! What's the newest thing you've tried on a layout?

Happy Thursday everyone and Happy September!

Can you believe it's September all ready?  I know I sure can't.
Especially because I'm soooo behind on Project Life.  Like I haven't touched it since February (GASP!) behind.

Add to that, the fact that I absolutely love this time of year and the whole fall season, means  I decided that I wanted to document the month of September in a very "December Daily" kind of way and create a mini for the month.

Using the fabulous Hudson Valley Kit which is absolutely perfect for this kind of mini, I got to work creating the front/back cover and deciding on which papers in the kit I wanted to use for each day.

I also used my Silhouette to cut various styles out of the paper for my pages.  The only things that I  used for this mini that aren't included in the kit are: Washi Tape (Target), Cork, Kraft Masking Tape (UPS Store), Book Rings, Pens, and a clear plastic for the covers.

Here's what I have so far (please disregard the bad lighting :)

And there it is so far.  I hope to do a follow up post at the end of the month showing you all the pages.  And just like with December Dailies, I will be adding bits of pieces of papers and pictures and lil tidbits in between all the pages.

Happiness is . . .

 

 Hello everyone!!!  Happy Wednesday :)  I had the chance to dive back into my Evening Stroll kit and get creating!!!  I took this great shot of my parents & kids from earlier this summer that I have been wanting to scrap and the blues, greens, and yellows in this kit went perfect with this black & white pic!!

I LOVED that the kit had so many different alphas & fun stickers.  I used a mix of them in my title work.  I also was excited to use the My Minds Eye tiny word stickers.  I have been wanting to try using these within my journaling & finally was able to - YAY!!

I have recently fell into the wash tape craze - it is so much fun to try using it in different ways :)  I really liked the navy striped tape found in the kit & decided to use it to create a photo corner of sorts to the right of the picture.  Layered among patterned paper & chipboard, the tape added a fun border to the photo's edge.

Baby Doll

Hello everyone! Thanks for coming by today, I'm excited to be sharing a layout with the Evening Stroll kit. When my box of fun arrived at my house and I saw all the papers and embellishments up close and personal I knew this was the perfect kit for some of the vintage photos I had printed and waiting for the right mix of products.

For my first layout, I decided to use a photo of my Mom when she was a little girl holding her baby doll. The Basic Grey Clippings paper is gorgeous and I like how the layered effect at the top of the paper is a great beginning for any layout. I carried the layered look over to my photo, surrounding it with papers and embellishments in coordinating colors and prints.

I used a piece of vellum for my journaling and stitched it vellum down with my sewing machine. Not only did it mimic the stitching in the printed paper but it allowed me to attach it to the page without any tape showing through.

To soften the layered papers under my photo, I inked the edges with the blue chalk ink included in the kit. I stitched some of the layers down and added flowers, brads and stickers around the photo.

I'm so happy to have this sweet photo of my Mom finally scrapped and am anxious to create some more vintage layouts. If you have some heritage photos, I encourage you to get them out and use them with this kit! Noel has put together the perfect combination of colors, papers and embellishments in the Evening Stroll kit for some vintage lovin'!
