Color Combo Challenge!

Hi Everyone!!! Fun stuff to share today!

Have you all had a chance to check out the new challenge yet? It is a personal fav!! I got to pick the image we used for the Color Combo Challenge, and I was so excited to see what the DT did with it! I got it from my fav inspiration site (you all have heard me talk of this place before) that I could spend hours at: Creature Comforts! Love that place. *Sigh* :D

Here below is my contribution:

I am having tons of fun with my Very Virginia kit (only 1 left!!), as it is pushing me to use some things that I have never used before! Like the masking tape for example! I totally was trying to channel my inner Virginia! :P But all I could come up with was using it as a border for my photo. Laugh! Either way it is very fun, and kind of liberating, to just rip some pieces off of the roll and stick it hap-hazard on my LOs!

And a couple close ups:

I tried to follow more the challenge photo's colors than the little boxes below the picture, because there was just so much more to the photo than those 4 little colors below. There was some intense richness that I really wanted to capture! But I also wanted to do it very subtley. So you will notice just under the folds on either side of my main strip of paper running down my LO that there are tiny cuts of the yellow-green-gold color and also of the ruby red kind of color. I also subtley used the red again just behind my circle punches, by layering several punches on top of each other and having the bottom one (the red one) just slightly stick out.

Also, I wanted to keep this LO very clean and simple, but I also wanted a little distressing and messiness. Not sure quite how to explain what I was going for, but that would be the only way. LOL! I think I achieved that, but in all honesty, it really doesn't matter anymore as this LO turned out to be such a joy to make! And it is most certainly one of my all time favs that I have EVER made. :D It is sized 8x8 in case you were wonderin, one of my fav sizes to work with as it just seems to go a lot easier for me. If you have never experimented with this size, I highly recommend it! :D

Hope you all participate in this challenge!! I am anxious to see how you interpret the color combo!

Two more things to share real quick-sneaks for the fabulous February 'Truly Scrumptious' kit have started today!! And we are revealing them in the form of a blog hop! It looks gorgeous!! I can't wait for this kit as it is so bright and colorful it just makes me very happy! The first stop is Kim Moreno's blog, so head over there to get started on your commenting so you can win! :D The kit goes up for sale on Friday morning, so be sure to grab yours then! :D

And the last thing is to remind you that we have our February Crop coming up soon, so mark your calendars so that you can join in on the fun! :D This is the super cute flyer Noel came up with for it! I just love it! So excited for this!

Well that is all from me! Hope you all have a wonderful week!! Take care!

~Amy
