Title work with Character *March Homespun*

Hello everyone!

Kimberly here, to share a new layout for my Thursday post. I wanted to show how you can utilize ALL the wonderful variety of alphabet in your kit, that can all be used together to make a wonderful title! :)
One of my favorite things to do, is create a title, combining different alphabets. It draws interest to the theme of your creations, and I love how it looks.

I LOVE these photographs of my Niece and Olivia together. It is a perfect example of their love for each other and the fun they have together. They were having a blast, and I got to capture it all! :)

Another thing I love doing with my layouts, is layering embellishments. To create dimension, I often use pop dots for this effect. On this layout I used pop dots behind the center photograph as well.

This layout was created using the lovely March kit (Homespun)...my favorite kit to date!...I realize I say this every month, but I LOVE that! Noel just keeps getting it SPOT on with designing FABULOUS kits for us to work with and create layouts with ease, and you can't help but love! Don't delay...grab a kit for yourself to enjoy!

Have a super DAY! I'll be back next Thursday to share another post, so stay tuned, and enjoy all the other FABULOUS creations the rest of the team shares daily here!

Making some stuff with my Homespun Kit

This past weekend I had time to play around with my Homespun kit.
I love this kit!
The first thing I made was a little journal.
I found a 5x7 chipboard album in the $1 bins at Michaels a few weeks ago.
The album had 4 chipboard pages and came with 2 jump rings.
To make this journal, I took 2 of the chipboard pages, covered them with patterned paper from the Homespun kit, and used them as the front and back covers of the journal.

Here are a couple close up pics of the front cover.
The Homespun kit has some fun small embellishments that I used to decorate the cover!

Here is the inside of the front cover.

I cut down plain sheets of copy paper to make the pages for the journal.
{I like unlined journals!}
After I had the pages cut, I just used my Crop-a-dile to punch holes in the cover and pages.
I used the same patterned paper to cover the inside of the back cover as I used to cover the inside of the front cover.

And then here is the very back of the journal!

After I finished the journal I was on a roll so I made a couple of cards.

I'm telling you...I love this kit!
It is gorgeous!

Have a great day friends!

A pleating good time...

Hey there!! This is Lisa today!

I have a fun and simple layout to share with you all today. Pleats are nothing new, but they are a fun way to dress up an other wise flat layout! I created this layout using the awesome Homespun Kit!

I used a scoring board to create my pleats.

First I adhered my pictures to the middle of the paper and then I scored my paper at a 1/4" and then another 1/4" and then 1/2" and then a 1/4" and then a 1/2" and then a 1/4" until I read the end of the paper. I did this on the top and the bottom of the pictures.

Then I folded the pleats at the top of the page to go towards to the bottom of the page (towards the pictures). And then I folded the ones on the bottom of the page to go towards the top of the page (towards the pictures).

Then I adhered it to the middle of the layout and then went kind of crazy with the sewing machine to stitch down the pleats!

I added my title and went even more crazy with the sewing machine!! I just had fun with the sewing machine!!

Happy Tuesday!!

Love Day & a Sketch

The minute I opened my Charm School Kit I fell head over heels for the gumdrop brads by We R Memory Keepers. I mean . . . how cute are they?!! :) I have been saving them for a special page where I could use the entire package as page elements. I decided to mount them on punched circles and scatter them down the right side of my page . . . sort of like falling snowflakes. :) And here is the result!

And here is a sketch to go along with it.

Here is a closer look at the details

I bought these delicious, glittery Scrapworks Chipboard letters from Noel's shop and love the way they tie in with the sparkle of the gumdrop brads!

I'd love to see your take on my sketch! Link us up here in the comments of this post, or come and show your creation to us in the Noel Mignon Forum.

See you again soon!

Inspiration Sunday 3/4 "Lovely Lavender"

It's Sunday, so that's means a visual inspiration post! These are all posted over on our Pinterest Board, and there are even more there, but here is an idea about what I am "feeling" this week. My most underused, most intimidating color...lavender.

Lots of Kisses?!!

My four year old is quite a character. She is a mix of shy/introvert and independent/sass. She is not the most affectionate by nature, but she started a little tradition with me a year or so ago that is a daily routine now. She will every so often come up to me and smother my face with kisses, and declare in her little voice, "LOTS of kisses?!!"  It melts my heart because I know it's not in her nature to be so affectionate, and it's true innocent childlike love for her mama.

It's one of those things I've been wanting to document for some time now, and I pulled out the Charm School kit to make a layout about it!

I picked up an October Afternoon SprINKler in Hopscotch in my last order,
and I love this pretty shade of pink! It worked perfectly with a Dollar Store heart doily as a mask to create this soft background.

The little kraft envelope tucked behind the photos was the perfect spot for my journaling.

I love that I now how this recorded and it'll be such a fun peek at this stage of her life!

I challenge you to record a memory this weekend that is something
you've been wanting to record and haven't sat down to do yet. :)

Do you ever wonder what to do with rub on's? I love finding fun new uses for them! Below is a close up of the mini clothes pins with some of the Hambly rub on's over the top. :)

I also used the Hambly on my title banner card I made out of the Kraft paper and embellishments.

The Hexagon paper is just to die for too!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope my LOVE for this kit and what I've created with so many of the wonderful products with this kit, inspires you to rush on over here to GRAB one of these kits for yourself. They are going fast! xx
