{Eleven} with the "Vintage Spring" Kits

Happy Monday, friends!!!  It's Meridy here today, and the "Vintage Spring" Classic Kit  and Daily Diary Kit naturally scream "SPRINGTIME" to me, and since spring is a time for new beginnings, I decided to scrap another new beginning with these kits this week.  I'm scrapping a picture of my daughter's 11th birthday, which also happens to be 2 days before she started Jr. High.  So these spring images, embellishments, and flowers went prefectly with this photo.

This kit is so beautiful, and all of the Maggie Holmes papers and embellishments make me so happy, so I couldn't wait to use them.  I decided I wanted to use lots of die cuts and pieces of the beautiful gold leaf trim to frame my photo.

I stared with the deer and fussy cut a couple of quail.  We live in the desert, so we see lots of quail (and baby quail) each spring.  Although this page isn't about quail, these icons still work with the layout.

Next, I started layering up a few of the flowers and greenery.  I used pop dots to pop a few things up to add some dimention into the layout.  I spelled out "eleven" with the alphabet stickers and placed it at the bottom of the layout. I didn't want a large title, since there is already so much deatil on this layout, so these small alpha stickers were perfect!

I really liked using the gold leaf trim in whole pieces, as I did in the upper right hand corner of the layout, but I also liked the look of one or two leaves sticking out from under the die cut flowers, it added a little color and texture to the blooms.

A few strips of washi and paper across the top of the layout and a journaling card tucked into the layers of paper finished off the layout.  Thank you so much for stopping by today!!!  Happy Srping!!!

{Happy Birthday} Layout with the "Weekend in Paris" Classic Kit

Hello friends!!!  Hope you are having a great Monday.  It's Meridy here and I want to share the first layout I made with the "Weekend in Paris" Classic Kit.  This kit is PACKED with beautiful things.  The soft color scheme caught my eye and I decided I wanted to scrap a photo of my daughter from her 11th birthday last month.

When I saw the black and white floral paper in the kit I knew right away I wanted to fussy cut it and watercolor the flowers.  I love water coloring elements on my page, because I can make them match any color scheme I want.  Here are a few detail shots of my (very) beginner watercoloring skills.

I use one of the water brushes to do the watercoloring, so I can quickly control the amount of water in my painting.  I try to do a combination of darker shading using very little water and lighter shading of the same color using lots of water.  I love the mottled look of the different shades of the same color.

I try not to fuss too much with the watercolors on the paper, if I do, the paper gets too wet and the colors get muddy and blend into one flat color.  I know that my watercoloring isn't perfect, but I like that imperfect look, so it works for this technique.

In case you are curious, I use a water color set from Michael's, it's $5, and looks like this...
I do a lot of mixing of colors to try to match the exact shades of color that are in the papers.

Ok, back to my layout.  I adore the Maggie Holmes puffy stickers that came in this month's kit, so I used the word "happy" and a few puffy hearts on this layout.  I added a banner sticker and spelled the word "birthday" with the mini alpha stickers from the kit.  The balloon sticker from the Maggie Holmes sticker sheet was the perfect addition to a birthday layout!

Last, but not least, I added a few phrase stickers and stamped the date onto another Maggie Homes cardstock sticker.   And that wrapped up my layout.

I can't wait to work with the kit some more this month.  I would love to see what you've created with it on Instagram #NoelMignon.

Have a great week!!!

{Went to Bed Age 9...} Layout with the Spring Fling Daily Diary Kit

Hello friends!  First off, I wanted to remind everyone that subscriptions for July-December 2017 are only open through today, so if you would like to sign up to sub to Noel Mignon kits, today is your last chance to do that for another 6 months.

And now for my layout using the Spring Fling Daily Diary Kit and the 12x12 paper add on.  I really love the color schemes in the products this month.  I am really excited about all of the navy in the various paper lines lately, so the navy floral paper is the foundation of today's layout.

I had a lot of fun fussy cutting floral elements from papers in this month's kit.  I mixed those cuts with a few of the chipboard stickers, and a flair button, to build up my embellishment clusters.

I also used a few different 3x4 project life cards to add more layers to the layout.  Once I mixed in a couple of Thickers from my stash, I was able to use some of the mini letter stickers to finish off my titles.  I covered one of the wood veneer half circles with paper and stamped a few sentiments on it before placing  it on the top right of my layout. Finally, I added a little bit of journaling to the journaling card on the right hand side of my layout.

That wraps up my layout share for today! Thank you for stopping by.

{Happy Girl} with the Happy Together Classic Kit

Hello Noel Mignon fans!  If you were at the March kit reveal party on Facebook last night, you know we are up for some beautiful creations coming your way with next month's kit...but for now, I'm still getting plenty of layouts out of my 'love-ly' February "Happy Together" Classic Kit!!!

This week the design team is going to use the February kit for layouts and projects that are NOT Valentine's related.  The Noel Mignon kits are so versatile, that you can use them for all sorts of topics and themes in your scrapbooking, cardmaking, and pocket pages.

I decided to make a page for my daughter's 9th birthday party this week.

I was able to use the "Happy Together" Classic Kit, although her party didn't have anything to do with Valentine's Day.  It took place in the middle of July, and was Parisian themed.  But the colors of the paper and embellishments matched my photos perfectly!

I really loved the different textures in this month's kit, I used chipboard, embroidered lace ribbon, and cardstock die cuts as embellishments on my layout.  I even added in a few self adhesive sequins from a previous Noel Mignon kit.

I embellished my title with another chipboard sticker, one of the CUTE glittered bows, a flair button,  and painted the wood veneer "Happy" pink to match the colors in the layout.  I used the black Thickers that came in this month's kit for my title and continued using the adhesive lace ribbon and sequins to keep the layout looking cohesive.

I finished off my layout with a piece of vellum for my journaling, pink stitching around the entire page, a paper ribbon with part of the branding strip on the upper right hand side of the layout, and a few light pink mist splatters.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  I would love to see what you are working on with your Noel Mignon kit over on our Member's Facebook Page, so please stop over and post your creations.

"39"-Blue Moon Classic Kit

I am in LOVE with this month's Classic Kit "Blue Moon".  Today I'm sharing a single page layout of my 39th birthday last October.  So much has changed in our lives since then!

I only had 2 photos from this day, so I had to make a single page layout, rather than a double page spread like I typically do.  I started with the Pink Paislee "Cedar Lane" Town Square patterned paper as my background, because it matched the colors in my photos so well and I really like the floral pattern.

My favorite part of this entire kit is the fabric Pink Paislee tag. I adore the embroidered flowers and the polka dots.  I just HAD to use it right away.

I painted the wood veneer heart in this kit to match the teal in the paper.  The heart paired with the "cherish" tag, a puffy sticker, and a orange-red sequin (from my stash), created a cute embellishment cluster.

And last, but not least, a chipboard owl.  Oh how I adore owls.  So it was the perfect embellishment for a page all about me and my 39th birthday!  Could not have worked out any better.

I know this month's Classic Kit is already sold out...to avoid missing out in the future, you can sign up for a 6 month subscription.  Subscription sign up is open now for January-June of 2016.

Thank you for joining me today!!!  I want to see some of your creations with the Blue Moon Kit over at our members Facebook Page.

Happy Birthday, Mamala!

So today is my Mama's birthday, and I figured the best way to wrap her gifts would be with my Maple Creek kit.

So I made up some little rosette's and cut some leaves and twigs with my cameo and added them to the package. The package all tied up with string from the Maple Creek kit, might I add.

And the card is also made with the kit. Actually, a combination of both the classic and daily diary kit. Love those Maggie Holmes rubons! I was actually able to use the leftover bit of rubons for the envelope, too :)

And now we're off to open these up and head out on the town for a day of fun!

You are Seven!!

Hello everyone!!!  So excited to be back for another term with the Noel Mignon kit club :)  Oh & what could be better than starting off with the new GORGEOUS Fresh Start kit!!!  I LOVED the mix of patterned papers in this one & found just the perfect ones to compliment these pics of my eldest son's recent birthday.

With their added sparkle, these white alphas were super fun to use as a tone on tone title.  I used a mix of upper & lower case alphas while repeating the word "seven".  I can't believe I've been a mommy for seven years already :)  I loved those little sparkly heart toothpicks & tucked them behind the title work for some added fun.

I overlapped an Elle's Studio journaling tag from the kit with part of one of the Pink Paislee pennant tags.  Those tags are great to add in some additional sub-titles amidst your page :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!!  The Fresh Start kit is already sold out but Noel does have a few subscription spots open for March - June.  Check out the details HERE!!

Birthday cards!

OK I am in need of a couple new birthday cards to send to friends here in the near future.
So of course I went to straight to my Primrose Lane kit!
The 12x12 sheet of Crate Paper stickers in the kit is perfect for sentiments for birthday cards!

And viola!
Here are a couple of fun birthday cards!

They aren't too "theme-y" or "cute-sy" so these will make for great "grown up" birthday greetings!

So there you have it!
A couple of easy, fun birthday cards!
Have a great day!
And thanks for stopping by the blog today!

More Primrose Lane Layouts!

I told y'all yesterday that I'd been on a roll with the Primrose Lane kit

It has a great sheet of Crate Paper alphas and stickers that I happen to notice had several party  & birthday themed stickers... perfect for a couple of birthday layouts I needed to do!

The first one is about my daughter's birthday that was just a week ago... I had a lot of photos I wanted to include. It's so hard to edit down and figure out what best represents the event! Thank goodness for wallet sized photos!

It was hard to not make this layout look too busy, what with all the photos and the small scale collage details already on the background paper, however, by keeping the color scheme soft, I think I managed to pull off a good balance.

I loved the touch of layering the border stickers from the kit underneath one of the photos. I also added detail by cutting out some of the side banners from one of the journaling spots and then tucking my photo behind them.

The second layout was one of my third child's birthday, from back in December! I didn't want it to look Christmassy, so I'd been waiting 'til all the fun, girly products came out this spring. This kit was perfect for it! I played around with the layout design for a bit, pushing around items, until I found this simple design. The large piece of design cut from the chevron paper grounds the entire design, and the backwards "L" shape on the right side keeps your eye moving back to the pictures.
