Old is the New New

So we all know how popular "vintage" is these days... vintage couture, vintage housewares and vintage furniture. But how about vintage scrapping supplies?

I know we all have that stash of stuff we "just can't get rid of"...the pile of stuff that somehow finds its way back onto your desk. For me, that's the 5-year-old Cosmo Cricket and the who-knows-how-old American Crafts chipboard I used on this card for my husband's 30th birthday.

When I sat down to make this card, I challenged myself to dig into my pile of "vintage" pieces and use at least 3 "old" items.

I used:

1) Cosmo Cricket "celebrate" paper (old)
2) American Crafts chipboard shapes (old)
3) Kraft chipboard scrap as the base (old)
4) Cosmo Cricket chipboard numbers
5) 7gypsies circle stamp (old)
6) Elle's Studio flag
7) Fancy Pants journaling spot

I must say, though, I'm really happy with how it turned out. I think I should challenge myself more to try to use up my stash...a great way to do that is to make cards - especially all-occasion ones. I find myself in a pickle sometimes, when something sneaks up on me and it's good to be able to grab a card and go.

So here's to using what we have, and visiting the NoelMignon store when we just need a little something new!
