Squad Goals * Little Bird Classic Kit *

Hey guys! This week is all about "goals" and I thought I'd make a lighthearted twist on the topic... with a pic of my 7 year old and some of her best buddies. 

How darling are those little pink letter stickers from the Little Bird kit?  I love them. 

I recently have been trying to figure out what a family album looks like for us (after taking some time away from scrapbooking). I wanted something that was a little easier to hold and interact with than a 12x12 album, so I settled on a 6x8 album. So what you see here are my first pages for that album! 

Beginnings of a Summer Album with Daily Diary

I've been doing pretty good at maintaining my 2015 Project Life album but summers around here are always special. I feel this summer holds so much extra weight and fervor with the anticipation of so much change. We are moving to a new house. My daughter is starting Kindergarten. I start a new job. It seems like this particular portion of our lives will be the time capsule we look back on to how things were before. That fact alone warrants an album unto itself, I believe. So I've been working on a 6x8 mini album in PL style and the Pool Party Daily Diary kit has helped me get it started.

So this summer has actually not been the greatest so far. We've suffered a lot of setbacks and disappointments but it illuminates our resilience that we are still trying to make it the best summer it can be. It's too hot outside and it's too hot inside with a broken A/C so we are trying to keep the kids busy. I want to remember these little moments of free play and self-expression.

I have any addiction to all-square pocket protectors. I could do my entire albums in square pockets if it weren't for all the photos that need a fuller canvas. I trimmed down some of the 6x6 papers that came in the kit as well as some 3x4 cards to come up with the 2x2 squares. I picked some photos that best illustrate what these days are like for us.

I wanted to use the pocket that came with the kit so I included some journaling strips. I will use my Fuse to slice an opening in the page protector to enable the reader to pull out the strips. I also used a chipboard frame and a cardstock die cut along with a picture and a 3x4 card to fill the other pocket. I put a word art brush on my photo before printing and then used the smaller alphas from the 12x12 alpha sheet in the kit.

A 6x8 Pocket Page with Hello Darling

Good afternoon all! You know those cut-apart 12x12 sheets that come with the Daily Diary kit? One of the very first things I do when I get my kit is cut all the individual cards and elements because I know myself--- I will never use them if I don't get them cut out right away. I was looking at all the cards and elements that came from the sheets from the Hello Darling Daily Diary Kit and saw how many fun 2x2 cards were there. I have these 6x8 page protectors with all 2x2 slots that would make perfect use of these cards.

This will be used as an insert for my larger 12x12 album, so I didn't do a ton of journaling. I wanted to get a lot of the pictures in that didn't make it into my larger pages and also used some pictures that might not have looked as great in a bigger size.

I used a lot of the washi layered with the Elle's Studio stickers for a simple but cohesive look. I tend to be mystified by how to best use washi tape but I tried to use it as a small piece of patterned paper for layering and love how it turned out. 

The cards from the Websters Pages cut-apart sheet were already so beautifully patterned and visually interesting that I didn't want to embellish too much on top of them. I used the metallic nailheads from the kit to give the page just a little extra pop.
