pumpkins and the Apple Crisp kit

Good morning!

Today I have one more project to share using the Apple Crisp Daily Diary kit before I dig into my new Home Sweet Home kit.

One of my favorites from the Apple Crisp kit was the Jillibean Soup alphas. I decided to use the alphas a focal point on my page:

I trimmed about 1/4" off each edge of my white cardstock and mounted it onto a piece of patterned paper from the Apple Crisp Classic Kit paper pack. I added some spray mist and then added my "pumpkins" letters across the bottom edge. From there I added the patterned paper strip and a piece of washi tape from my craft stash and then added two more rows of alphas.

I added my photos over the top of the Jillibean alphas and tucked a journaling card under the edge of one of my photos. I also used the flower diecuts and some enamel dots.

This cute little star was cut from the Jillibean Soup paper included in the Daily Diary kit. I cut it out and added the little button to the center. I finished off my page with a Fancy Pants puffy sticker.

Marching Band Mini Album part 2 with the Apple Crisp Daily Diary Kit

Hey all!  Happy Halloween or if Halloween isn't your thing Happy Tuesday.  ;)

Nicole here on the blog today to share one more look at the Apple Crisp Daily Diary Kit.  Can you believe tomorrow is November?!  A couple of weeks ago I shared a mini album I started putting together for my band geek teenager.

I am back today to share more:

I added a few embellishments to the top of the photo with a 3x4 card and Jenni Bowlin date sticker.  This page is a pocket page so I included more photos on a pull out tag and used a piece of the Maya Road twine on the top.

I printed off more 4x6 photos from both tournaments on this spread and stuck them in the pockets.

This tournament the band scored 3rd place and an award for visual.

I decided to cut apart one of the 3x4 cards and placed the puffy words between the card.

And with that my Daily Diary kit is pretty much finished.  Such a fun kit this month and I'm so excited to break into next months.  Thanks for stopping by the blog today!

Happy Scrapping!

fall color inspiration

Hello once again.

Today I have a page to share using a traditional fall color combination of gold, deep red and shades of brown with just a tiny bit of blue thrown in.

Looking at the photo below makes me want to leave everything behind for a few days and head to the mountains.  How about you?

Beautiful mountainside autumn color scheme | Click for more fall color combinations, mood boards and seasonal color palettes at http://sarahrenaeclark.com

At this website you can find many traditional as well as nontraditional fall color palettes.

You can also do a search on Pinterest, which is how I found this originally.

For my project this week I created a traditional 12x12 layout using the Apple Crisp Daily Diary kit along with the paper pack from the Classic kit.

I used some diecut flowers left over from last week and backed them with patterned paper and added an enamel dot to the center. The large title for my page was also created using my Silhouette diecut machine. I added some gold spray mist to the white cardstock with a paintbrush.

I cut a couple of hearts from patterned paper and layered them, stapling in the center and lifting the edges to help it stick out from the page.

A few stickers and some golden twine finished off my page.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

{Happy Thanksgiving} Layout with the "Apple Crisp" Classic Kit

Hello Friends!  It's Meridy here and fall is in full swing, we had a Fall Festival and a visit to the Pumpkin Patch this weekend.  I got lots of pictures, and I can't wait to get them printed.  In the meantime, I worked on a layout with a photo of Thanksgiving 2016 for today's layout using the "Apple Crisp" Classic Kit.  This week the design team is heading over to Pinterest for inspiration.  I found this fall mood board, and decided to take cues from it when creating my layout this week.  I mainly went with a similar color scheme, the wood grain, and falling leaves, for inspiration.

Here is what I came up with...

I used the wood grain patterned papers for the background of my layout, they just seemed to fit the style I was leaning towards from my inspiration board.  Next, I layered a few strips of paper that I had left over from previous layouts I created this month.  The photograph is the star of this layout for sure!!!

I did add a couple of doilies from my stash to bulk up the layers here, but I think they worked really well with the style and look I was going for.

I used the acrylic word "happy" from the kit as a starting point for my "Happy Thanksgiving" title, and finished it off with the gold Thickers from the kit.

Finally, I layered up some of the chipboard stickers from the kit, a little twine, some die cuts, crystal dots, and a few sequins (from my stash).  I even used some of the Prima packaging from the puffy stickers to create a subtle layer peeking out from beneath the chipboard stickers.

That wraps up my layout for today!  I can't wait to see what you create with your "Apple Crisp" Kits!!!

fun at the pumpkin patch

Good morning!

Today I have another Apple Crisp Daily Diary kit project to share with you. I've also used some papers from the Apple Crisp Classic kit.

These pictures are from a recent trip to a local pumpkin patch. I forewarned my kids that I would be taking lots of pictures of them for scrapbooking assignments and they did not disappoint! I love that my youngest has tiny pumpkins on her eyes in the top photo.

My foundation for the page was a couple of pieces of patterned paper from the Classic kit- I love that Noel always has extra paper packs so that I can add to what I receive in the Daily Diary kit. For those who love the DD kit but do traditional pages more than pocket pages, this is a great thing!

I added some blue spray mist droplets around the page to contrast the orange and brown in most of the papers. If you look closely some of the papers have that same blue.

I used bits of patterned paper to fill in this cute flower diecut and added a cardstock flower and some twine and epoxy dot to the center.

The tiny Tim Holtz phrase stickers were so fun to use on my page! I used some on both sides of my page and added a few cork stars as well.

Have a wonderful day!

Marching Band Mini Album with the Apple Crisp Daily Dairy

Hello all!  As I have been weeding through my scrapbook stash trying to decide what to pack and what to purge I ran across an old Making Memories mini album.  I'm not sure how old it is but decided to pair it with the daily diary kit and document my sons marching band season.

I started with the cover.  I love the large alphas in the kit, but the letters I needed to spell RHS weren't in the right colors.   I traced around pattern paper and a 4x6 card for the black/gold school colors.

I then embellished with enamel dots, cork stickers, and a date stamp.

On the inside cover I printed out the season calendar.  On the opposite page I printed a photo that features my piccolo player from a recent competition.  I used pattern paper for the photo corners.

This album contains a few pockets on the sides and some in the top.  The next spread contains a few more large photos of the band during the summer parade season.  I took one of the folding 6x4 cards and tucked it into the pocket.

I am going to have the boy do the journaling for this mini.  I think it's important to get his voice for this project.

The next spread includes snaps form drill camp and a page protector that I ended up adhering cards and stickers to the outside.

The last photo is from the homecoming game and halftime field show.  I am still working on this mini and will share the rest in next weeks post.  Hope you come back next week to see how I am documenting the rest of the bands busy competition season.

Thanks for stopping by!

fall love and Apple Crisp home decor

This week I decided to go away from my normal 12x12 paper layout. Instead of a page I created an altered item, which seems to be the thing to do this week as we try to incorporate mixed media items to our projects.  I hope you've been enjoying all of the fall home decor ideas on the blog this week.

I started with a plain wood slat heart decoration that I'd purchased quite a while ago at a craft store.

I painted the slats with acrylic paint alternating white and light gray.

From there I chose a picture of my girls from a recent trip to a local pumpkin patch.

I mounted my photo on a piece of chipboard that was used as packing material in my Apple Crisp Daily Diary kit.  I thought that it would give some texture to my project and I liked how the brown contrasted with the painted colors of the wood.

I used a couple of pieces from the kit and painted them a light aqua color to contrast with the browns and orange. I also used a large flower punch on a variety of patterned papers to make more embellishments for the project. I crinkled the paper before punching it to add more texture to the flowers.

I cut the "I love you more" sentiment from the Jillibean Soup Bite Size Bits paper and mounted that onto a dark brown paper. I added foam adhesive to the center of the word strip before adding it to give dimension to the sentiment.

I tied the golden thread from the kit around my photo a few times and tied it in a bow. I added some paper flowers from the kit along with the ones I'd punched from patterned paper. I added enamel dots to the centers of the punched flowers. The gold scalloped tape is from my craft supply.

Fall Banner with the Apple Crisp Daily Diary Kit

Fall y'all!  I love, love, love fall.  This year I am a little sad since I am usually crazy decorating our house for the upcoming holidays and this year my living room is full of boxes.  To make myself a little happier as moving day is quickly coming I bought a few little pumpkins and whipped up this little fall banner with the Apple Crisp Daily Diary Kit.

I used foam adhesive to place the large die cut letters on the Becky Higgins Project Life cards.  To add a little more color I added some teal ink around the edges of the cards.

I then cut tabs from the Echo Park pattern paper and stapled them to the top of each card.

I strung them on the yellow Maya Road twine and hung it off the pumpkin stems since I have already taken down on the hooks from my mantle.  I am so happy with this cute little banner and the decorator inside of me is incredible happy to have a little color added to my mantle for the last time.

And for a real life look here is a snap of my current mess.  ;)

Crafting can be such a nice break!  Hope you are all enjoying a little craftiness in your own neck of the woods.  Thanks for stopping by the blog today.
