Falloween: A Boy and His Guitar

Hello! Jana Eubank here. This week I chose a layout by my fellow design team member, Wendy Antenucci, to scraplift.

First, here is her page that I used as inspiration. I loved the way she clustered the photos together in a row with all kinds of fun bits tucked in here-and-there. I also really loved her title!

Here is what I came up using the Falloween kits.

A BOY AND HIS GUITAR

I chose to place my two photos together in the same row overlapping each other, just like Wendy's photos.

Next, I layered all kinds of paper bits, pieces of washi tape, stickers, and even a chipboard frame behind the photos.

Underneath the photos, I placed my title. I did a large title just like Wendy's. I even took a cue from her "Boys Rule" title and added a hastage "#owenrules" for a bit of fun.

I wrote my journaling underneath the title, cascading down towards the bottom of the page, where I placed a striped strip of patterned paper along with a few phrase stickers and wood buttons. Heart stickers accent the journaling.

I had so much fun with this one! A big THANK YOU to Wendy for inspiring me with her original design.

See you again soon!

Scraplift of Lindsey Dixon

Hi, everyone! Jana Eubank here. This has been such a fun week on the Noel Mignon blog! I have loved seeing all of our members' creativity, along with the scraplifts by our design team! The page I chose to work with is this lovely page by Lindsey Dixon using the January 2014 Fresh Start kit.

I love the different strips of patterned papers in the background I loved the scattered hearts over the top and the way that Lindsey cut and lifted the pennants of the pink paper to add more dimension. I selected a horizontal photo from Valentine's Day last year, grabbed my February 2014 Book of Love kit, and got to work! Here is my take on Lindsey's darling page.

I duplicated the four columns of patterned paper from Lindsey's page, but added a 5th strip going horizontally to anchor my photo.

I tried to imitate the hearts and dimension on Lindsey's page by cutting out the icons and scribbly polka dots in the patterns and popping them up with foam squares.

I also created a grouping of pennants in the upper left corner. Two of the flags are from the sticker sheet in the kit. I used a pennant punch to cut the gray tag from one of the 3x4 cards included in my kit. I stitched across the top of all three of the banners and then added a paper doll garland cut with my Silhouette Cameo machine.

To the right of my photo, I added a title, journal block, and a few die cuts and stickers.

I had so much fun putting this design together. Thank you for inspiring me, Lindsey!

Happy Scrapping!

Jackie George - You've Been Lifted!!

Welcome back to our week of scraplifts!! I had the pleasure of getting to play around with the fabulous style of Jackie George.   I have noticed some recent layouts of Jackie's that included AWESOME quilt-like patterns in the background.  If you know me, you know I love the quilted look on a page - as well as the opportunity to break out some sewing!!!  Here is Jackie's inspiring page . . .

And here is my take on that gorgeous quilted background using the new Wishing Well kit. . .

I cut various lengths of patterned papers, just as Jackie did on her layout.   I then adhered them to the bottom half of my page in rows.  I also machine-stitched across each row.

Rather than create my typical oversized title, I chose to keep it simple with this cute photo frame and one of the GORGEOUS gold rub-ons from the kit.  Right below I added my journaling and then a few fun embellishments on the side.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Feel free to check out more of Jackie's work in our Facebook Group :)

Sara Andrews - You've been scraplifted!

This week, the design team is celebrating all the inspiration from our facebook group members by sharing their creations with you and scraplifting them. You should come play along!

I chose the talented Sara Andrews to scraplift. What inspired me was her fun use of color and lots of layering! I've been gravitating to softer, muted colors lately, so I chose her because I thought it would move me out of my comfort zone. Her layouts just shout "FUN" to me!

I picked this sweet layout from her blog:

And dove into the Wishing Well kit (now available!) with my scraplift.

To mimic her design, I gathered a bright, bold patterned paper for my background and several square mats from patterned paper for my oversized photo. I also layered a handful of brads and small embellishments around the two corners.

Thanks, Sara, for the inspiration! I've learned several new ways to look at my own creativity by watching yours! :)

Davida Stafford- You've been scraplifted!

We have such a creative community and I love to see how everyone interprets the items in Noel's kits!

I was browsing our gallery and found this wonderful layout by Davida Stafford, created with the Lasting Love kit.

And here's my interpretation of it, with the Daffodil Hill kit! (2 left!!)

I loved her oversized photo, however, I didn't have any printed off at that size and since I have a few sickies at home right now, I couldn't go get something printed...so I made do with what I have.

Since I had a smaller group of photos, I condensed the size of the entire design. I used to green strips of paper with some random borders punched from them to correlate to her red borders. A funky handful of random pennants cut from the chevron paper, underneath a winding ribbon mimicked her banner. A brad embellished flower and painted butterfly were there to balance out her embellishments. And instead of a paper circle behind my layout, I painted a circle with some mist.

Also, have I mentioned yet how AWESOME this kit is? Good grief I love these colors.

If you haven't had a chance yet, you can check out my video review of this month's kit here:

Heartbeat Gala

Hello everyone and welcome to "Lift a Member" week here on the blog.

I must admit I had a lot of fun looking through the member gallery over on the message board for a layout to lift. Since I had two smaller photos I wanted to work with I chose to lift the "Day Out" layout by Caz Hancock.  I also liked how Caz had the doily tucked between two layers of patterned paper.

Using the Lasting Love kit and Caz's layout for inspiration, here is what I made.

This layout appears to be about Valentine's but it was actually a benefit/fundraiser that we had the privilege to attend a couple weekends ago. The foundation that hosts the event was started four years ago and raises money to provide free heart screenings and AED's in schools across the state of Texas. It was really a fun night with friends and for a great cause.

Here are a few close-ups...
For my title I layered the tiny letter stickers, included in the kit, over the arrow sticker embellishment. It fit perfectly!
Along the bottom I included a strip of the glitter tape. Have you used the glitter tape yet? It is a great way to add sparkle without the mess of loose glitter.
I added my journaling to one of the die-cut journal cards and clipped it to the back of the layout. I made the clip by cutting the prongs off a brad and then blued a small paper clip in its place.
Thanks for the inspiration Caz! This came together in a snap and I love how it turned out!

Cassandra Cyr, You've Been Lifted! :)

This week, we've all been lifting some of our fabulous community members- they are so inspiring!

I fell in love with Cassie's gorgeous fall layout using Crate Paper. All the layers and the rich colors are just incredible. Cassie's projects always have lots of details and a great design- and this one was no exception. It was really fun to lift and to be inspired by her style!

I wanted my layout to feel softer and more delicate to fit my photo, so I used the great West Coast kit - the colors and lovely feminine details in it fit the feel of this layout perfectly.

I loved Cassie's big fabric flowers, so I mimicked it on a slightly smaller scale with the fabrips in the kit. I popped a doily behind it to still give the same feel of a large circular element on that side of the page, but it works better with the size and orientation of my photo than a large flower.

I think my favorite thing on Cassie's page was the strip with circular elements- what a fun addition! I will definitely be using that idea again! :) Thanks, Cassie, for your inspiration!

I also have been drawing inspiration lately from the reality show, Project Runway.

They recently had their "unconventional products" challenge, where they created garments out of candy! So fun!

One of the ideas I took away from the show is that they used one shape (in this case, circular and shark shaped candies) to created other shapes on the dress, so I adapted that to my layout and used strips of paper to create large, layered circles.

The color palette was also adapted from the inspiration piece on the show- gorgeous shades of blue.

What's been inspiring YOU lately?

Scraplift Inspiration

I loved this layout that Noel made with the Office Party kit. I thought that the "Wild West" feel of the layout fit *perfectly* with the products in that kit! So, I marked it to scraplift.
However, I was browsing through some of the fabulous layouts posted on our message board, and I came across this one by message board member Robyn (created with the Lemonade Stand kit), and I just new I had to lift it too!
I combined the inspiration I got from both layouts and came up with this:

A Scraplift

Happy Wednesday!  I have a scraplift to share with you today.  I decided to scraplift this one by Jules (theblingprincess).  Love everything about this.
My take is a little different - but it was definitely inspired by this layout.  I used bits and pieces from different Noel Mignon kits.

You can't really tell in this photo but I added a lace look to the black part of the cardstock.

I also added some bling to the "lace"

That's all I have for now - have a wonderful day!
