Adventure Awaits (Little Bird Classic Kit)

Hello, friends! Sherry here and today's layout is inspired by a sketch. We took a hike on Christmas Day and I had a beautiful panoramic shot that I wanted to include on my layout. As I was searching for a sketch, I made sure to look for one that would easily incorporate a panoramic photo. The following is the layout and the sketch I selected:
Since the photo has so many beautiful colors, I decided Fancy Pants Joy Parade (Wrap it in Color) would be a fun place to start. Even though the paper is really busy, it pops when using a small amount, such as the long strip in the center of the layout. The Fancy Pants puffy words were perfect for these photos. I can't wait to use more on another project!
I created a photo collage in PicMonkey to mimic the four squares on the sketch. Originally, I had planned to cut them apart but when I laid the photo down, I loved the way it looked, so I ran with it.
To balance the grid I cut a mat the same size and used it as a base for my journaling card and the fun globe from the Hazelwood paper. I also used the adorable heart washi tape from Hazelwood to border my mat.
If you're in a creative slump, a sketch is always a fun way to jump-start your creativity! As always, thanks for stopping by the blog today!

Hello, New World (Little Bird Classic Kit)

Hello friends! Sherry here, with a fun mixed-media layout. I was so excited to see the Echo Park Stencil and Distress Ink in the kit. These products were the inspiration for my layout.
I stamped the Distress Ink onto a craft mat and mixed with Whipped Spackle (from my stash); I love the soft, buttery color it creates.
I used a palette knife to spread the spackle through the stencil. I didn't worry that it wasn't perfect; it just adds to the loose, artistic look. :)
I adore the buffalo plaid washi tape, from the kit, and used it to frame the center portion of the layout.
I fussy-cut butterflies from the Hazelwood paper and also used a small butterfly punch to create tiny butterflies to scatter throughout the layout.
I needed the tile to pop of the dark negative space of the photo, so I used white alpha stickers (from my stash) and colored the word "world" with the Distress ink.
Of course the stencil can be used in many ways: mists, paints, or even just stamping with the little ink pad. I hope you've been inspired to create with stencils! Thanks for joining us today!

Create Beauty (Little Bird Classic Kit)

Hello, everyone! It's Sherry and today I'm sharing a layout created for our prompt, "goals". I decided to use a broader approach and create a reminder to myself to not only dream about a beautiful things but to actually create beauty. It's so easy to think about things we'd like to do, but without action, nothing happens. This layout will be hanging in my craft room, for inspiration.
I adore the Maggie Holmes (Gather) wreath stamp and thought it would be fun to create a larger wreath with it. I lightly traced around a paper plate to keep my circle from getting wonky. After stamping around the circle, I erased the pencil line.
Since I was creating a wreath, I thought the beautiful ribbon from the kit would be the perfect touch to add color and softness to the layout. I used my Crop-o-dile to punch holes to weave the ribbon through.
The little birds from the MH Kindred paper were begging to be fussy-cut, so I obliged. I tucked the branches under the ribbon and added foam dots for dimension. I punched circles from the MH Jane and Beautiful paper and filled the center of a few wreaths.
For the title, I combined the Thickers from the kit and die cut the word "beauty". I created a bullet list of my words using the dots from the Thickers. The "remember to" stamp is from my stash.
Hopefully, you've been inspired to document and actively pursue your goals! Thanks for stopping by the blog.

Remember This Always (Little Bird Classic Kit)

Hello, Friends! Sherry here and I'm so excited to be sharing my first layout since joining the team! Today I'm working with the Little Bird Classic Kit; it is absolutely filled with gorgeous goodies. I was instantly drawn to Hazelwood (Quartz) and Gather (Jane) papers and used them as a starting point for my layout. Lucky for me, I had the perfect photo to work with these papers.
Since the Hazelwood paper is so bold, I started with white cardstock (from my stash) to add some white space to the layout. I cut small strips of paper, machine-stitched the strips, and pulled up the edges to add dimension and show the fun, black & white b-side of the paper. The photo is matted with salmon cardstock and the Quartz paper. I popped the matted photo up with adhesive foam. For the title, I combined the Gather Thickers and Fancy Pants die cut words. I adore the Hazelwood puffy flower stickers and scattered them throughout the layout.
I cut apart the Gather "Hello Love" stamp and stamped "love" on a chipboard heart and layered it over the wreath stamp and more puffy stickers. I love the versatility of the stamp set!
I added a strip of the adorable Hazelwood washi tape and my journaling to the bottom of the page. The layout is backed with EP Just Be You (Shine Bright) paper. I love how it compliments the Quartz paper.
Wishing you all a blessed and creative 2017; thank you for stopping by the blog!
