Hello, Noel Mignon fans! Jana Eubank here. This week's design challenge is all about being inspired by the word MAGICAL. I thought it was the perfect opportunity to scrapbook about one of my children's birthdays. Here is the page I came up with using the Buttons & Bows Classic Kit!
HAPPY 10TH BIRTHDAY
I wanted those super-cute and colorful Thicker letter stickers to be the main decorative element on the page (just love all hose happy colors!) and so I decided to create a large title across the top of the page. I cut the pink section from the Simple Stories Live Simply paper, and placed it across the top of my page base, the Fancy Pants Little Sis paper. The lacy trim accents the edge and the puffy gold Millie & June stickers add some sparkle.
I placed my trio of photos on the bottom of the page, each one matted with a different color of cardstock.
Hello, Lynn here with my latest layout using the "Buttons and Bows" Classic Kit. Our challenge this week is "Magical". Simply use "magical" as the inspiration for your project. The first thing that came to mind was Disney. I haven't been to Disney in a seriously LONG time but I went through some photos and came across this gem. I went to an ultrasound conference in 2000 and stayed in a resort hotel within walking distance to Epcot. The conference was half days only so we could have fun as well. Here's my layout.
I decided to use circles for my background to compliment the photo of Epcot. I used a variety of Lawn Fawn's Large and Small Stitched Circle Stackables Dies. I love the detail of stitched edges. The strips of green on the sides of my page are pieces of washi tape included in this month's kit.
Here's a close up of the circles.
I added some vellum stars scattered across the layout - I used vellum so the stars would be subtle and not take away from the photo or the bright circles.
Thanks for stopping by today. Give our challenge a try - I'm sure you'll create something magical!!
Happy Monday! It's Meridy here with a layout using the "Buttons & Bows" Classic Kit. This week the Design Team is looking at "magical" as inspiration for our layouts. So I decided to use some photos that looked "magical" to me. I loved the light of the setting sun hitting the log and my son just on the edge of the forest in these pictures.
I cut apart the Simple Stories yellow patterned paper into a sunburst shape, to mimic the setting sunlight in the photos. Once I adhered the sunburst rays, I started layering a little more patterned paper, my matted photos, and some washi tape. Next I added my journaling and the date.
Then I moved onto my title. I used some Thickers from one of my older Noel Mignon kits and paired it with some rub ons from the May 2016 kit and a few embellishments from this month's kit. After I "kill" a Noel Mignon kit, I take the few bits and pieces that are remaining and keep them in a little dish on my desk, so I can reach for them in the future when I just need one more little detail.
Next, I added a few more embellishments and some sequins from my stash. And that wrapped up my layout.
Thanks for joining me today!!! Stop back all week and see what the other "magical" layouts the design team will share.
Wendy here this morning with a new challenge to inspire you with, this week we are going to be Magical! You challenge this week is to use "Magical" as the inspiration for your layout (or other project) this week.
I found the Becky Higgins PL cards to be so fun and light, almost magical, so I chose to limit my products to keep my layout consistent and magical. I also created a shaker pocket card with the fun sequins included in the daily details kit for a magical feel, course it would have been nice if I had put the right week number on it!
I hope you have a magical week as you are inspired to be creative in all you do!
Laura here today sharing a layout using the September 2016 Buttons and Bows Classic Kit. You probably already know that this
week the design team is showcasing projects using buttons and bows, handy right?
I have to tell you that I am having so much fun with this kit, getting my "girlie" on! You may not know that I am a mom of all boys, including a grandson, so I am really embracing this feminine kit!
I created this page of my friend's granddaughter and I cannot wait to share it with her!
I opted to do a grid design for my layout, bu decided on a grid of hearts opposed to squares or circles. I knew that I wanted to put my title and photo in opposite corners, so after cutting nine hearts out of my background paper, I cut 2 open scalloped hearts to frame these two focal areas.
Once I was finished embellishing my layout, I hand-stitched a gold flourish as an extra accent.
These Fancy Pants Millie and June alphas could not be any sweeter, and I know that I have mentioned how much I love these little hangers!
I backed my layout with another patterned paper, and then filled in my remaining cut out hearts. Three of them I filled with doilies cut with my Silhouette using the white cardstock from the kit. Then I embellished them with Fancy Pants bows. The kit actually only contained two bows of this size, so I trimmed a third one down using a smaller one as a template. I love how sweet they look!
The four remaining hearts were filled with soft green cardstock hearts that I ran through my Cuttlebug with an embossing folder.
I used the eyelet trim to create a frilly collar for this flair piece. Isn't it the cutest! I added a couple of stickers, buttons and a sprinkling of gems to finis off my page.
I created another process video for this layout, you can check it out below or here on my You-Tube channel!
Supply List: Pink Paislee patterned paper and buttons; American Craft cardstock in white and geyser; Fancy Pants Millie and June paper bows, puffy alphas, die cuts and flair; Simple Stories Posh epoxy clips and stickers; Queen and Co. bling; May Arts ribbon; Maya Road hanger clips. (From my stash: DMC metallic gold thread; Lifestyle embossing folder)
Hey everyone! Is everyone loving the Buttons and Bows kits as much as I am??!! This week we're using buttons and bows on our pages...an easy thing to do with this kit!
I loved what Jana did with the embroidery hoops on her page this week so I decided to cut out a few that I had left from the scraps not used on last week's layout.
I added some ribbon and one of those adorable bows from the kit. I simply used my tape runner to put that bow together which worked really well. What I really like about these bows is that they don't add much bulk to your page!
A few other embellishments around my page to top it off!
