Happy Today | Buttons and Bows Classic Kit

Hello!

It's Laura here with you today sharing a new layout and process video!  This week the DT is creating projects with the theme "siblings"! I decided to document the relationship between my 3 sons.  Not much of a challenge since they are siblings and all, but my boys have a large age difference and two of them are grown up and out of the house so their relationship is definitely something that they need to work at.  I wanted to be sure to document how close these guys are even those they live hours apart.

It is hard to get a photo of these three (or four) together given that we do not live together, so this photo was actually snapped at Christmas time and I have used it in my December daily, which is why I converted it to black and white for this layout.  I am taking creative license to use it again because I am telling a different story this time! You got to do what you got to do!

I went with a more typically layout for me, keeping things really tight and using a smaller photo.  I love the "white" space.

I loved these Crate Paper hearts but the pink wasn't a good fit for this page, so I flipped it over and wrapped half of it with Washi tape from the kit to sort of mimic the original look of the heart piece.

I pulled elements from the kit to create a grey, teal, yellow and navy colour scheme, and used smaller pieces to layer behind my photo.

My title is a combination of the alpha stickers and a sticker from the Simple Stories sheet, included in the kit, I love combination font titles so this was perfect for me.  Because I wanted my alphas to be grey and yellow, I did have to "make" a "p" and a "y" from other alphas.

As a final step, I added some machine stitching and some splatters of mist.

I have created another process video for this layout, you can check it out below or here on my You-Tube channel!

Supply List: (from the kit) Crate Paper patterned paper "cheery from Cute Girl; Pink Paislee patterned paper's 03, 06 and 18 form Take Me Away; Simple Stories "laugh lots" and "choose happy" from Posh; American Crafts Carefree Thickers; Simple Stories Posh stickers and chipboard; Crate Paper wood accents;  Fancy Pants Millie and June Washi. (from the August kit) Pretty Little Studios cut apart flags. (from my stash) Simple Stories enamel dots; Mr Huey's mist; Martha Stewart bakers twine; Staedtler grey pen; fine tip Sharpie.

Thanks so much for visiting!

Addie makes 3

Hey all, Michelle here with a couple more layouts from the Buttons and Bows Classic kit. The classic kit is sold out but there are a few of the Daily Diary kits left. I'm getting down to the last bits of paper & embellishments after creating many layouts from this kit!! I'm pretty excited to start digging into the Falloween kits...but before that let me share these last 2 pages!

For the siblings challenge this week I scrapped some photos from several years back when my youngest was born.
For both of my layouts today I converted my photos to black and white. Sometimes when the colors in the photo don't go well with the patterned paper I want to use or the colors in the photo are too distracting, switching to black and white does the trick!
I was down to the last 2 full sheets of patterned paper and lots of scraps. Usually when that happens I end up with a 'scrappy layout' like the one below.
I added some stitching around my paper/photo as a sort of frame along with stitching on the title.

And now...onto Fall layouts!!!

Buttons & Bows: Be Brave & Dream

Good morning, Friends! Jana Eubank here. This week our design challenge is all about Siblings. My kids each have a special relationship with one another and I always love to see how the different pairs interact with each other.

On my page today, I'm scrappy some silly photos of my oldest daughter, playing dress-up with my youngest daughter a few years ago. I love that my oldest wasn't afria to get a little silly for the sake of her little sister. Too cute!

BE BRAVE AND DREAM

I kept this one very monochromatic with shades of aqua, gray, and white ... and then added in POPS of bright pink for a bit of fun.

Fussy-cutting all the flowers from the Pink Paislee #2 paper was my very favorite part of putting this page together. Fussy-cut flowers always look SO COOL on a project! Love them!

I also fussy-cut the word "BRAVE" from the #6 paper to include as part of my title. I thought the phrase "Be Brave & Dream" was appropriate here with my kids having a bit of fun with their imaginations on this day! :)

A few of the Pink Paislee dimensional heart stickers add a really fun finishing touch to this page.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope my project has inspired you to do a bit of scrapping today, too!

See you next week!

"Besties" with Buttons and Bows Classic Kit

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday! Lynn here with this week's layout using the "Buttons and Bows" Classic Kit. Our challenge this week is Siblings. I used a pic of my Niece's girls Abby and Kate. They are each unique in their own way but will always be sisters and hopefully best friends. I focused on the Pink Paislee papers in our kit this month for my page. Every now and then I create an 8.5 x 11 sized layout. Here's my page.
I clustered some embellishments including the gorgeous Prima flower from our kit.
Here's a look at the fun two-toned coordinating thickers and iridescent gems.
I love the gold hanger clips from Pebbles.
Here's another close up.
Thanks so much for stopping by today and be sure to keep checking in to see more  "Siblings" projects.
Have a great week and I'll return next week with a new project featuring our AWEOSME Falloween Kits!!!

{Best Big Sister}- A Layout with the "Buttons and Bows" Classic Kit

Happy Monday!  It's Meridy here again and I'm sharing a double page layout today using the "Buttons and Bows" Classic Kit.  This week the design team is creating layouts about "Sibling Love".

I shared a layout last month of my daughter helping paint stripes on her bedroom wall, a few people asked to see the final product, and you can see that in the layout I'm sharing today!!!

My daughter was sitting on her bed working on homework, and put her baby brother up on the bed with her to "help".  It was so cute, that I had to take pictures!

I had so much fun with this kit, the colors are so light and airy, so putting the layout together was a breeze!  The first thing I did was loosely lay out where I wanted my photos to go, then I started adding the patterned papers across the top and the notched strips on either side of the layout.

Creating the title was one of my favorite parts of putting the layout together.  I was able to use a few puffy stickers and both sets of letter stickers that came in the kit this month, as well as a wood veneer, some flowers, and a paper bow.

I added my journaling to the right hand side of my layout.  I used the roller stamp to stamp a few coordinating sentiments on the journaling block with pink ink.  I also included a few more embellishments to surround the journaling.

The very last thing I did on this layout was machine stitch around the perimeter and around each photo.  I think the stitching really added that finishing touch to the layout.

Thank you for joining me today, stop back all week to see how the rest of the design team honors siblings in their layouts!

Magical Dreamer | Butons and Bows Classic Kit

Hi there!

It's Laura here with you today sharing a new layout using the DT's weekly "magical" theme, this week the DT is creating with "magical" inspiration! And I found mine in the form of a title.

Once again I am playing with "borrowed" photos, but as soon as I heard we were going with the "magical" theme I knew I had to use these pics!  I created this circular frame with wings just for these photos!

I brought in a bit of this gold scalloped tape from last months kit because it seemed too perfect layered under my photo which was matted with two patterned papers from the kit.

My wings became a focal area and were embellished with these sweet embellishments, I added in a bit of messy gold thread from my kit.

I used both of the alphas from the kit to create this pretty title.

Once again I used a sweet hanger clip from Maya Road, this time it "holds" a pretty ribbon!

How adorable are these resin bows, and how incredibly perfect, too! n this cluster to the left of my photo I layered it over a Prima flower, clustering it with a Pink Paislee wood accent and a Fancy Pants puffy sticker.

I added one final embellishment cluster at the bottom right side of my layout to balance out my page.

I created another process video for this layout, you can check it out below or here on my You-Tube channel!

Supply List: Crate Paper patterned paper; Fancy Pants Millie and June patterned paper, puffy alphas, die cuts and flair; Pink Paislee wood accents and buttons; Simple Stories Posh chipboard and stickers; May Arts ribbon; Maya Road hanger clips and resin bows; American Crafts white cardstock Thickers; Prima flower; Ranger enamel accents. From Last month's kit: Jen Hadfield scalloped gold tape and Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine.  (From my stash: DMC metallic gold thread)

Thank you so much for visiting today!

magical amazing spectacular!

Hey, guys! Michelle here with my 'magical' layout! It just made sense for me to do a Disney page since the theme for the design team this week is 'magical'. Last February I took my son to Disneyworld and since I have yet to put my Disney album for that trip (or the trip before!) I thought I'd use this week's theme to get a page done!
I've been saving that black patterned paper with the gold dots from the Buttons and Bows Classic kit for just the right page and a fireworks page seemed fitting! Although it did kill me to not be able to use those super cute hearts on the other side. Why do they have to make such awesome papers on both sides?!
Along with a few different patterned papers I went to some older kits and picked out a few items I had leftover...like those awesome gold/white thickers from the Heart of Gold Classic Kit , gold alpha stickers from the Pure Bliss Classic Kit, and gold glitter thickers from the Vintage Charm Classic Kit. I love when I'm able to 'shop' my previous kits...we all know these kits are packed and there's always leftovers to choose from!

Buttons & Bows: Happy 10th Birthday!

Hello, Noel Mignon fans! Jana Eubank here. This week's design challenge is all about being inspired by the word MAGICAL. I thought it was the perfect opportunity to scrapbook about one of my children's birthdays. Here is the page I came up with using the Buttons & Bows Classic Kit!

HAPPY 10TH BIRTHDAY

I wanted those super-cute and colorful Thicker letter stickers to be the main decorative element on the page (just love all hose happy colors!) and so I decided to create a large title across the top of the page. I cut the pink section from the Simple Stories Live Simply paper, and placed it across the top of my page base, the Fancy Pants Little Sis paper. The lacy trim accents the edge and the puffy gold Millie & June stickers add some sparkle.

I placed my trio of photos on the bottom of the page, each one matted with a different color of cardstock.

I then used journaling cards from the Buttons & Bows Daily Diary kit to house my story.

A few fun embellishments adorning each little photo grouping adds dimension and FUN!

Thanks for stopping by today!

It's a Magical Week with "Buttons and Bows" Classic Kit

Hello, Lynn here with my latest layout using the "Buttons and Bows" Classic Kit. Our challenge this week is "Magical". Simply use "magical" as the inspiration for your project. The first thing that came to mind was Disney. I haven't been to Disney in a seriously LONG time but I went through some photos and came across this gem. I went to an ultrasound conference in 2000 and stayed in a resort hotel within walking distance to Epcot. The conference was half days only so we could have fun as well. Here's my layout.

I decided to use circles for my background to compliment the photo of Epcot. I used a variety of Lawn Fawn's Large and Small Stitched Circle Stackables Dies. I love the detail of stitched edges. The strips of green on the sides of my page are pieces of washi tape included in this month's kit.
Here's a close up of the circles.

I added some vellum stars scattered across the layout - I used vellum so the stars would be subtle and not take away from the photo or the bright circles.
Thanks for stopping by today. Give our challenge a try - I'm sure you'll create something magical!!

{Just So Magical} with the "Buttons & Bows" Classic Kit

Happy Monday!  It's Meridy here with a layout using the "Buttons & Bows" Classic Kit.  This week the Design Team is looking at "magical" as inspiration for our layouts.  So I decided to use some photos that looked "magical" to me.  I loved the light of the setting sun hitting the log and my son just on the edge of the forest in these pictures.

I cut apart the Simple Stories yellow patterned paper into a sunburst shape, to mimic the setting sunlight in the photos.  Once I adhered the sunburst rays, I started layering a little more patterned paper, my matted photos, and some washi tape. Next I added my journaling and the date.

Then I moved onto my title.  I used some Thickers from one of my older Noel Mignon kits and paired it with some rub ons from the May 2016 kit and a few embellishments from this month's kit.  After I "kill" a Noel Mignon kit, I take the few bits and pieces that are remaining and keep them in a little dish on my desk, so I can reach for them in the future when I just need one more little detail.

Next, I added a few more embellishments and some sequins from my stash. And that wrapped up my layout.

Thanks for joining me today!!!  Stop back all week and see what the other "magical" layouts the design team will share.
