My Dog Ate My Homework...

I swear!

Well, no. But I DID have a little accident involving my original page I had planned to post today.

SO my bootay was up bright and early to make you this little page to share a couple of my favorite techniques. Because that's what we're doing here this week - TECHNIQUES! Love these posts!

So here's the page I made at the butt crack of dawn - lol!

I love using up all my scraps - almost nothing as satisfying for me, where scrapping is concerned. So I grabbed a bunch of leftovers from the Hello Darling and Shine Bright kits, and some of the cute stickers and cut-aparts and just went for it.

I started in the bottom corner, and just applied a little glue runner to the center of each piece of paper to stick them down. Be sure not to get too gluey when you do this, because your sewing machine will revolt! Fill the whole page with scraps of paper, stickers that fit just right, and any ol thing you just love. And don't be afraid to leave a blank spot here or there, if you have a plan for something that might go there later.

I didn't stitch around every edge, but most of them, and made little leaps with my machine so that I had fewer starts and stops to deal with.

Here's a peek of what I did with one of my pieces - put just enough glue to hold it in place, stitched just one side, and lifted it back up to hide some secret journaling, backed with a few stamps of that Wild Honey Distress Ink Noel included in the kit. And you can see how I added a strip of chipboard in my open space, with a line of dots above it, created by the stamp from the kit. Don't be afraid to ink just part of the stamp to make it fit the area you have to work with.

And of course I couldn't help but add some layers to the page. Love those Thickers, and the Craft Market stickers are my new faves!!

Be sure to check in all week for more techniqes from the rest of the team!

I am 8 !!

Hello everyone !

I am so happy to here with you today to share my last pages using the Shine Bright kit.

Something on my recent To Do list was to complete birthday pages for both of my girls. They both had birthdays back in February and March. This Months kit was perfect for this particular project and matched my pictures perfectly.

It has been tradition to take a picture of the kids with fingers up showing how many years they are old. I snapped a photo of Maddie and her eight fingers. I added a simple sticker in the corner.

We recently took some family photos over in the almond orchards when they were in bloom. I chose to use the photos I took of Maddie for her birthday pages. Plus her outfit matched perfectly with the kit !!

I used one of the 3x4 journaling cards to add a few tidbits about Maddie.

I made my own 4x6 journaling card with some patterned paper and cut out the heart and banner. I added more things about Maddie that I don't want to forget.

A photo that I added a few stickers for embellishments.

I knew that I wanted to have a fun conversation with Maddie.  To ask her a whole bunch of questions and let her answer. And I really didn't want to try and figure out how to fit it all in the divided pockets. So I made a 6x12 tradition page for the right side.

I printed out a 4x6 photo and embellished around it.

Here is a look at the bottom of the 6x12 page. It was definitely a lot of fun to sit down with her and ask her some of these questions.

I am so very glad that I took some time to get these pages done for my daughter. It is going to be so fun to look back on later down the line. I looked back and the last time I did this was when she was 4 years old !! Wow, I need to remember to do this every year.

That is it for me this week !! See you next time.

Putting Shine Bright to Bed

Here's my last layout with the Shine Bright kit! Of course, there will still be little bits and pieces that will make an appearance now and then - how could I not use every last piece?

A little more simple of a layout for me - not so many layers. It's nice to simplify every so often. I love the glitter that Noel put in the kit! It's perfect for glitzing up the edges of the wood veneer title!

Love me a hidden journaling tag.

And here's a little look at a spread from my album...

That's all for today! Be sure to check in over on the Facebook page for a sneak of what is on my desk right now, using the new Hello Darling kit!

Excited for spring!

Hey guys, Michelle here with a spring pocket page using the awesome Shine Bright Daily Diary kit. I have had so much fun playing with this kit, I can't even tell you!! And did you see Brenda's pages Wednesday using those great page protectors with the smaller slots that are perfect for the 3x3 cards in this kit?!! I totally have to get my hands on some of those!
But onto my pages for this week. The design team is creating spring layouts which is perfect for me since our weather here in eastern Washington has been absolutely beautiful the last couple weeks. We had one day with a little bit of snow but other than that we've had many days in the 50s and 60s which has me itching to get out & do some gardening (but not yet!)
For my title card on this page I used that great Simple Stories paper from the classic kit that had the long strips. I cut it down & added some embellishments for the title.
I also took that great overlay with the gold dots and paired it with one of the 3x3 cards. And since it is see through I also added another 3x3 card to the backside so that it wouldn't look unfinished on my previous pages.

On several of my photos I cut up bits from the 6x6 papers that came in the kit along with other embellishments. And I just cannot get enough of those enamel dots & shapes!
On this page I used a different page protector that has some horizontal and vertical photo slots.
I've mentioned before that I don't do my Project Life albums in the 'traditional' sense. Instead of doing weekly spreads mine is more of a monthly view. So this layout covers the first 2 weeks of March and I'll probably do another spread with the rest of the month. It just works out easier for me to do my albums this way.
And don't forget - our Springtime in Paris online crop starts next week!!! It will all be happening over on the Noel Mignon facebook group page!!
