Day 1 of the Fall Harvest Crop!!!

Happy Monday & Welcome to Day 1 of the
Fall Harvest Crop with Noel Mignon

Please join us this week on the Noel Mignon Blog and over at the Noel Mignon Members Facebook Group to play along for your chance to win some fantastic prizes!!!

Today I am kicking things off with your first challenge

Fall Fashion

My take on "fall fashion" for this challenge is "LAYERS".  As the weather gets colder here in Canada, we start adding more layers of clothing to our wardrobe, so for this challenge I decided to add lots of "LAYERS" to my layout!

I used my Noel Mignon Blue Moon Scrapbook Kit, and some tissue paper to create this layout.  I did a lot of fussy cutting of the flowers from the Pink Paislee Cedar Lane paper that came in the kit.

And here is my finished layout.  I also used some grey and pink watercolour paints underneath my layers to give some depth to my layout.

I challenge you to play along for your chance to win some prizes!  For this challenge you can scrap a layout with lots of "LAYERS" like I did and/or scrap a photo of your favourite fall fashion.  When you are done you can upload your project to the album on the Noel Mignon Members Facebook Page!

Also don't forget to stop by the Noel Mignon Members Facebook Group tonight for another chance to play along and win a prize

Blue Moon Happy Mail Set

Happy Weekend everyone! Michelle Zerull, here to share a Happy Mail project that I made with the Blue Moon Daily Diary kit.

I love sending Happy Mail to friends and family. It's always a pleasant surprise to receive something fun in the mail, and I love being able to use my supplies in fun new ways. This is a simple letter set, but it's loaded with colors and textures. It reminded me of an antique postcard that I had. (I'll be tucking that in the envelope, too!) And speaking of envelopes....an  envelope liner is so simple to make, yet adds to much charm! Handmade embellishments are also fun additions to your letter.

Here's a simple way to make a fun flag. Use a Q-Tip! Simply cut off the cotton. And the best part...they are super cheap! (FYI...These are also an easy way to make cupcake toppers!)
I hope that I've inspired you to use your supplies this weekend. Enjoy!

changing seasons // pumpkin picking

Ahh yes, changing seasons. Last time I shared an apple picking layout, this week it's all about the pumpkins!
We've already been to the pumpkin patch twice and I'm sure we will make it there at least one more time since we need to get one more batch of apples. The farms where I live are wonderful and we can go and pick fruit almost all year round. I have apple butter cooking in the crock pot as we speak...and boy does it smell good!!

And I totally agree with Britt's post yesterday - fall is definitely the time of year when I feel more refreshed and a sense of renewal!
Getting family photos these days is sometimes more trouble than it's worth. So I end up with individual photos of my kids which is the reason why I chose to do 2x3 photos in a collage style format on my page. That 'family' tag was actually a 3x4 tag with a blue border but the dark blue didn't stand out against the dark brown paper (and it was too big) so I simply cut it down. Then I added embellishments in and around my photos and even a few enamel dots on those cute hearts at the bottom of the page. The great thing about patterned paper like this is that you don't have to do a whole lot of embellishing on your page!

Changing Seasons

Yes, we're changing literal seasons right now. Fall is (hopefully) upon most of you. I can't say that I'm seeing much of it, surrounded by 96 degree heat and nary a hint of a crisp fall air in sight. BLAH. I just want sweaters and lattes, and cinnamon-scented everything and butternut squash soup and excuses to go shopping. Like, a lot.

A lot.

And I want to make changes in my own life, as well. I feel myself being pulled in new directions, and it's a good thing. Most people feel refreshed in the New Year, or in Spring, but this is usually the time of year for me that I feel most ready for a change of pace.

So it's a Changing Season for me right now. It's time to spend more time. To take more time. To enjoy more time. Because it's easy to forget to do that.

It's also easy to forget to buy printer ink.

So you get a no-photo layout. Because I was not about to take the time to go to Staples, when I know I can just as easily say what's in my heart. And you'll get that.

So take some time for yourself. Document where you're at right now, with this change of season. We love seeing what you do!

And in case you're like me, and blocking all things out but your desire for anything pumpkin-spicee and forgetting about our fun upcoming crop next week on our Facebook Members page, DON'T. Don't forget to join in on the fun with us. Take some time for that.

"Fall Traditions"- Documenting the Changing Seasons

Let me start out by saying, I live in the desert.  There are not 4 seasons here.  Although it doesn't feel like fall here in the desert, I LOVE the idea of "autumn", so I do my best to find fall activities for my family to attend---even if it is still 99 degrees outside.  One of my favorite fall traditions is to visit a pumpkin patch.  This past year our Girl Scout troop visited the patch together.  I think the Blue Moon Classic Kit colors and embellishments are the perfect match to my photos from this day.

I really loved the Pink Paislee ephemera that came in the Blue Moon Daily Diary kit this month so much, that I ordered an ephemera pack from the Noel Mignon Store in addition to my Classic Kit.  I added a few bits and pieces of the ephemera throughout my layout.

I also adore the Pink Paislee puffy stickers that were in this month's kit, puffy stickers bring me right back to the 2nd grade and remind me of my old sticker books!!!  I had to use them right away, and I bet I will blow through the whole pack within 1-2 more layouts.  But isn't that the point of these cute supplies?!?

Another favorite from this month's kit is the triangle print acetate by Pink Paislee.  I like transparencies because they add another layer---but allow you to enjoy the layers and papers below it as well---too much fun!

If scrapbooking the "Changing Seasons" seems like fun to you, be sure to join us next week on the blog and our Members Facebook Page for our On-Line Fall Harvest Crop.  It's going to be jam packed with fun fall challenges!

Documenting the Changing Seasons with October's Blue Moon Daily Diary Kit

Howdy Everyone, I'm here with my first Pocket Page using October's Blue Moon Daily Diary Kit! I wanted to document the changing seasons here in New England and this kit is perfect. I love the fall colors in this kit, especially the Simple Stories "We are Family" collection. Here's my page
I created some extra pockets using the Fuse tool. One pocket became a shaker pocket and I altered a 4x6 pocket to accommodate two 3x4 cards.
I added a frame around one of the photos to add some interest.
Since there are so many pockets on this page I didn't want it to get too busy. So the middle section is filled with simple 2x2 squares.

I attached a few of the photos with the fun Washi Tape included in the kit and that allowed for me to journal under one of the photos.

This is the last pocket that I converted into two 3x4 pockets
I hope this page give you some ideas on how to document your fall photos using the Blue Moon Daily Diary Kit! Embrace the season if you can - it's such a beautiful time of the year!
Be sure to sign up for the next term of kits - from January to June 2016! You will not be disappointed in our kits - they are LOADED with fun current products!! Have a great week!!

Pumpkin Patch

First off let me start my shouting out Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadians! With the seasons changing here in Canada, and the leaves changing colour I was in the mood to scrap a "fall" photo.  My Noel Mignon Blue Moon Scrapbook Kit just arrived last week and it was full of lots of inspiring items to create this layout!

I decided to add some mixed media to my background. First I spread some gesso over the paper, and then when that dried I added some gelatos, mists (I used the Heidi Swapp Butter from last months kit) and some water.

Next I cut the triangle feathers from the cute owl stamp that came in the kit, and used it to stamp some "texture" to the background paper.  ( and because I used a sharp xacto knife and got a clean cut, and can place the feathers back in the owl and still stamp with it! )

There are lots of random goodness layered on this page. How cute is that acorn puffy sticker from Pink Paislee Cedar Lane collection?  For the wood veneer heart, I just added some gelatos and rubbed it in with my finger and a bit of water.

Lots and lots of layers!  I even added a piece of a brown paper shopping bag to the back!

How awesome are these blue glittered foam Thickers that came in the kit?!

And don't forget, there are still a few spots left for the
January - July 2016 subscriptions. I love there there is a Combo Kit option (scrapbook & Daily Diary Kit) because even if you don't do daily documenting, it still makes a fantastic scrapbook add on kit!!!! You can sign up HERE
