I didn't want this layout to be too "cute", since it is a serious topic and serious photos. But I did decide to add a couple of layers of paper. The papers in this kit matched the color scheme of the photos. I liked the burlap Thickers because they add texture and give a rustic, rough feel to the layout. I also used the chipboard cloud and raindrops that were in March's "Picture Perfect" Classic Kit. I even used part of the branding strip that reads "The Wild Life" because it fit the theme of this layout.
I wanted to share a tip about how I got the photos for this layout. There was a news story online via our local news station. I watched the video clip on my computer, pausing it periodically, and when I got to a screen that I wanted as a photo, I took a screen shot of the still/paused video. This is the only way I will probably ever get any photos of my husband at work, because it's not as if I can take pictures of him working myself. So although they are not great quality, I will take it!
Thank you for visiting! There are still a few "Trailblazer" Classic Kits available in the store, grab one while you can!!!
